Australian Survivor Ratings

But to place the ratings in perspective, it's still Ten's top rating show on the nights it's on and it's beating the X Factor in the demos, which are more important for advertising revenue:

The Block has pipped The X Factor for the second night in a row.

Nine’s reno show drew 931,000 viewers, just ahead of Seven’s talent series on 895,000 -just down from Monday’s debut of 904,000. The Block also topped the Demos with Australian Survivor, fourth in its timeslot, landing second in younger demos.

The debut of Todd Sampson’s Bodyhack drew 588,000 for TEN and was particularly strong in older demos. The double season finale of 800 Words won the timeslot, well up on last week, with Unreal Estate in second place.

Mal Meninga’s Who Do You Think You Are? was best on SBS at 341,000.

Seven Network won with 31.5% then Nine 26.3%, TEN 19.25, ABC 16.25 and SBS 6.8%.

Seven News was #1 with 1.08m / 1.05m for Seven then The X Factor (895,000), 800 Words (800,000 / 728,000), Home and Away (725,000) and The Chase (640,000 / 439,000).

Nine News (995,000 /980,000) was best for Nine followed by The Block (931,000), A Current Affair (814,000), Unreal Estate (647,000) and Hot Seat (511,000). Million Dollar Movers drew just 250,000.

Australian Survivor (660,000) was best for TEN. The Project drew 635,000 / 421,000,Todd Sampson’s BodyHack drew 588,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 451,000 and NCIS: LA was 204,000.

ABC News (809,000), 7:30 (690,000), Catalyst (573,000), Matilda and Me (439,000) and Foreign Correspondent (342,000) comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was Who Do You Think You Are? (332,000), Insight (23763000), and SBS World News (143,000) and Dateline (139,000).

More people have viewed Mari's survivor parody video Outlaster (based on Minecraft) than watched Survivor. The first episode has over 400,000 views. So does her meme video of Salty

OK it's ratings time again, and Survivor had its biggest night in over a month - and its 5th best result of the whole season - so it just goes to show that bullshitting your audience in the promos pays dividends... so we can expect even more of it O_O Even so it still came fourth in its slot. Viewers seemed up across the board so maybe that was due to the weather or something?

Sunday's results:

THE BLOCK - SUN Nine 1,156,000
THE X FACTOR – SUN Seven 914,000
GRAND DESIGNS: HOUSE OF THE YEAR-EV ABC 719,000
AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR SUN TEN 708,000

760, 000 last night.

I will be curious to see how the change of programming tonight rates in its place.
Not very well I'd imagine. Life in Pieces hasn't been promoted at all. I am not expecting higher than 400-500k for either Life in Pieces or Modern Family.

Big night for Survivor last night (Monday). This was their highest rating episode since the launch.

THE BLOCK -MON Nine 1,008,000
THE X FACTOR – MON Seven 833,000
AUSTRALIAN STORY-EV ABC 816,000 / 7.30-EV ABC 766,000
AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR MON TEN 760,000

So despite it still coming fourth in its slot, momentum is finally starting to build, as I suspected. Pity it has taken so long.

Here's a pretty graph:

Overall you can see it has held an average audience (of about 680,000) who have stuck with it consistently throughout its entire run. That average should increase a little over the remaining episodes. That's a solid result for Ten.

I'm 100% certain TEN will renew it for 2017 with a few budget cuts and a serious look at scheduling as well as format. This show has been the highest rating show for TEN in this particular slot of the year for a long time now so I'm sure they would be pleased.
This is good to hear. They might look at casting as well and avoid the Tegans, Rohan's and Kats of the show. Also cast people who have seen the show. Omit the self righteous SAm's as well.

In case anyone is interested:
This is Maris 4 installment

Her first video has over 500,000 views and the most recent one has over 240,000.

It's a no brainer to me for Ten to renew it. If they don't somebody else probably would and Nine would just ruin it.

It does need refining but they could cut the episodes without cutting the run time simply by having every episode run to the longer slot, rather than every other.

Last night (Sunday) The Block had its biggest night of the season (no idea why) but it was the night's top rating show across all networks, with almost twice as many viewers as Survivor.

THE BLOCK - SUN Nine 1,279,000
THE X FACTOR – SUN Seven 815,000
GRAND DESIGNS: HOUSE OF THE YEAR-EV ABC 698,000
AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR SUN TEN 660,000

Still cannot understand how The Block holds on to so many viewers.
