Thinking thinking... maybe because Luke is ok with it going to rocks because he's got immunity anyway? So either way he can do anything without worrying about going home, but other people will have to think about it twice before going to rocks.

To be fair there, no-one was to know for sure if he'd win immunity, but yes, it's a bit of a waste.
