Ok so I just watched the first ep on Tenplay. Intriguing. Loved it. I watched the first 15mins while surfing the net etc. on my iPad as I do watching most shows, then realised I couldn't so I had to stop, put the iPad away and pay full attention. I started again from the beginning, it drew me in so much I didn't want to miss anything.
I don't know pretty much any of these characters you guys are talking about, but now I am so keen to buy the first two seasons.
This is what I had guessed when the Supreme's daughter was telling the girls about a supreme. However then they said only one per generation and it was revealed that Jessica Lange's character (it takes me a couple of episodes to learn character names) was the supreme. I guess it's going to depend now on what they classify as a generation.
I'm hooked.

You've made me want to re-watch the previous series as well now.
Perhaps it might have something do with Fiona going bad and teaming up with LaLaurie? Then again the morals of it might not matter too much.
On a side note, how PERFECT is Kathy Bates for that role. This show is so well cast (even if they are recurring actors).
She really is! I have no doubt she'll get an Emmy nomination for her efforts. The whole cast has always been amazing each season and I'm really happy to see Jamie Brewer (Nan) back as she was probably one of the stand outs for me from Murder House.
That girl was brilliant.
I'm also hoping that Angela Basset's role was more than a cameo. She is fierce. Bit of a milf.

Just finished watching the first 3 eps of season one. Where has is show been all my life?
Just saw episode 2. I hate myself for it but I found myself thinking that LaLaurie didn't seem as bad; then she goes all racist and hits poor Queenie on the head and all is well again.
And is the boyfriend really a minotaur now? I swear he didn't have a bulls head when he was in the angry mob. Marie Laveau isn't such a good girlfriend if she turned him into a minotaur.
I really hope Kyle is returned to his sexy self by the next episode as he's not really pulling off the zombie look.

I was watching the show with my sister and when Kyle didn't come to life straight away she said "Maybe Zoe's going to see if her powers work in reverse". How perverse would that be?
I really hope Kyle returns to normal... but maybe he won't. Who knows. I guess time will see.
I really love Misty Day (Lily Rabe's character). What a name hey? But she's a funny one.
I also love how powerful and bitchy Fiona is. Jessica is trully an amazing actress. Kathy Bates is also doing a fantastic job. It's an exceptional cast. I was thinking similarly to you about LaLaurie not being too bad but then she hit Queenie. How awesome is Queenie's power by the way? Uh - I cringed so much when she put her hand in the oil.
As for Minotaur boyfriend... that surprised me. Maybe that was the only way she could keep him alive for so long. I don't know. LaLaurie had him in the basement but I thought she just had a severed bulls head on him - not that it was permanently attached in any way.

Ha! I had the exact same thought. I think Misty will be able to make him look normal again (though apparently he'll be a ken doll) but how normal he acts will probably be a whole other thing.
Well LaLaurie doesn't appear to be magical in anyway and she definitely only made him wear the bull head as a 'hat'.
Also can't believe I forgot but the random satanic baby-making sex was intense!

I think Murder House was better than Asylum too. Plus Asylum was odd with the aliens. Wtf?
I have downloaded the first episode of 'Coven' but I've yet to watch it. I'm planning to watch it later today
I'm a huge fan of Jessica Lange. She's very talented and it really is 'her' show!
Some of us are scared shitless of the thought of aliens (for reals!!)...I remember that first scene they have I was doing what I always do which is do 500 things at once and I watched out of the corner of my eye and dropped everything.
I couldn't bloody sleep that night!!
I need to get into this series again it's definitely one of the best shows ever.

Oh I'm scared of Aliens too. Any sort of movie or show with Aliens and I get completely freaked. I think it's because we don't know if they're really out there. All of a sudden Aliens could invade and control us or kill us or eat us
It's freaky!When I said it was odd, I just meant that I wasn't expecting aliens in it when it had a sort of murder/insane theme. I didn't expect aliens and so it made me double-take

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, I was kind of expecting a twist or some kind of explanation for why things are as they are. Did I miss something?
If not then, they just leave it as it is. It just is a house where spirits become trapped and can't move on? I guess that's kind of cool.
Maybe I need to sleep on it.
The succubis has left me wanting more...

Yep you haven't missed anything, that's how they ended it. We'll never know why the house trapped spirits (Indian burial ground perhaps?) or whether demon baby ever made it to college and world domination.
They didn't make the decision to reboot the series every season until the first one was over and done with so we have to live with some unanswered questions unfortunately.
Ahhhhhh ok. That makes sense then. I thought it felt like they were leaving it too open for further storylines.
Even though I had already watched episode 1 of season 3, I think I have to give it some time. I probably won't be able to help myself... But I feel like I am not ready to accept the actors as new characters just yet.
I need to just let it sit in my mind for a while before I move on. Haha.

I'm currently alone in bed in the dark watching a very scary moment of season 4 of The Walking a Dead ........ I'm freaked out but can't stop watching. If there can be clinics for sex addiction surely there's something for thriller/horror show addiction.
I need to get onto downloading American Horror Story 3. Loved the first ones and hubby did too. At least then I won't be watching on my own

The characters Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie (Kathy Bates) and Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett), are based on two real women of New Orleans during the 1800's.
Madame LaLaurie was infamous for torturing and killing her slaves. Supposedly, as many as 100 slaves died under her care. Her horrific deeds became public after a fire destroyed part of her home. High priestess Marie Laveau lived a few blocks from LaLaurie, and it's likely the two knew each other. Laveau was a professional hair dresser, who's clientele were the white high society women of New Orleans. Laveau was favored by high society, and often preformed public voodoo rituals for their entertainment. They in turn asked her for advice concerning matters of business, love, and such. Laveau was also on friendly terms with the black slaves of the high society people. Being a freewoman of color, she was entitled to own slaves herself. So she bought slaves to set them free. It's rumored that Marie Laveau lived to be 200 years old, and may still be alive today.
Both LaLaurie's mansion and Laveau's tomb are said to be haunted by ghosts, and both locations are on the haunted tours of New Orleans.
