This show deserves it own thread because it is THE MOST AMAZING TV SHOW EVER CREATED.

Each season is a self contained narrative so you can follow along with the current series, Coven, without having to watch the previous two. However I recommend you do watch the other two as they are amazing!



Coven is airing now; what do you all think?

Anyway now that I've described the thread and bumped the ad I'll share my thoughts on Coven.

I thought it was amazing. Great cinematography, great cast, great premise.

Kathy Bates' Madame LaLaurie is an absolute sadistic bitch, also Jessica Lange has once again outdone herself as Supreme Fiona. I also loved what we saw of Frances Conroy (she certainly had a Vivienne Westwood vibe about her character) I'm hoping we'll see more of her; perhaps she's part of the council? I could go on one by one about each of the actor but I won't because that would take too long. I will however say that they were all amazing.

Who else is loving the school? All those whites yet still creepy. A great change from the dark setting of Asylum.

I do plan to go back and watch from series one, but you say that's not necessary? hmm..
Is it a completely new cast each year?

Usually most of the cast return but as completely different characters and in a different setting each season.

Murder House was Season 1, Asylum was Season 2. Personally I preferred Murder House but that's just because the asylum setting creeps me out!

That's an interesting concept. So I could start watching from Series 1 whilst also watching Series 3 each week and it wouldn't be too confusing?
 
I LOVE American Horror Story.

I think Murder House was better than Asylum too. Plus Asylum was odd with the aliens. Wtf?

I have downloaded the first episode of 'Coven' but I've yet to watch it. I'm planning to watch it later today :) I can't wait.

I'm a huge fan of Jessica Lange. She's very talented and it really is 'her' show!

I think those attires/hoods remind a bit too much of a certain hate organization (just change the color to white...)
 
Ok. So I watched it now :) I just couldn't wait.

I'm pleased Sarah Paulson is back. I like her. I think it's cool she's playing Jessica's daughter.

I can't believe I missed the memo that Emma Roberts was in this. I love her so I'm pleased she's in this. I also love her character's name: Madison Montgomery. It's awesome ;)

A great performance by Jessica Lange - but that's expected now :p She's very talented.

I love Zoe's (Taissa Farmiga) wide-eyed bambi look. She's totally out of her depth. I wasn't a fan of Taissa's character in season 1. Hopefully this gets rectified this season.

Of course Tate - Uh.. Kyle... is initially attracted to Violet - Uh.. Zoe :p Haha. History repeating itself? I wonder if Kyle will be played as Zoe’s love interest or Madison’s. I assume that maybe Emma’s connection to Evan is why she’s in this. I don’t know....

I don't understand why people date-rape. How can people get off on someone who can't consent? I don't understand it.

Ok so I’m just ranting about lots of little crap now.

I do love the school. It’s nice and bright but eerie at the same time.

I’m quite disturbed at how Zoe’s powers work.

Plus – that was quite an end to the first episode.....

Sorry for my rambles :D I'm looking forward to what the rest of this season will bring... but hopefully not too much of Zoe using her powers... surely she has to be able to learn to control those so she doesn't have to do what she did to get them working ... :p

Yeah they're were too many random things in Asylum. The main storyline was great though so I still enjoyed it but glad they've sort of stripped it back again.

I know, depends on how he comes back, and obviously he and Misty (Lily Rabe) must come back seeing as they have top billing.

Zoe certainly got the raw end of the stick power wise everyone else's is a hell of a lot better! There's definitely got to be more to it.

Evan Peters - LOVE this guy! Creepy hot! I was wondering that too re: their Romeo/Juliet destiny across both seasons...

I'm sensing "future Supreme" for Zoe! The human voodoo doll was pretty sweet. BUT Telekinesis will ALWAYS be my favourite - a la Charmed's Prue & Paige :D
 
I loved season 1 but took a break from Asylum halfway and haven't gone back yet. There was something horribly disgusting about season 2 and the torture porn element just got to me at the time.

Watching characters you love going through hell after hell was too much. The moment the lady woke up after the "surgery" still horrorfies me.

Yeah, disfigurements & extreme body abnormalities freak the hell outta me. Main reason I'll never watch another "The Hills Have Eyes".

I was about to say Coven was a tad more light on in terms of gruesomeness BUT... then I remembered what they did to the Native Americans in her cellar... Horrifying.

[MENTION=7173]inumeenu[/MENTION] I'm with you, love horror but can't do gore like Hills Have Eyes and Saw. Hostel was the worse movie I could have watched before backpacking around Europe!

Season 2 is totally different to season 1 and a lot better (then again I did enjoy season 1).

Deep down I must dislike myself cause I constantly watch horror/thriller type stuff and yet I have the most vivid dreams at night
