A 30 day Big Brother: how?

Another lesson that should be learned from the rewatch is that too much is too much. While I think the notion that modern audiences have short attention spans is a fallacy (we will make the investment if the investment is worth making) I think there’s a lot to be said about the mid to late 10 era seasons being too much was a contributing factor as to why the show started to decline. What was once considered a compelling slow burn became more like a chore… Pumping in intruder after intruder, twist after twist, and special after special killed off natural flow of story telling (beginning, middle, and end). What once was considered added value became mundane, boring, and no longer worth the investment. BB may be an “experience” but viewers don’t want to be beat over the head with it.
 
Less is certainly more - there is no point casting 16 people and then only focusing on a handful of them and treating the rest as extras. Viewers need to connect with the HMs and it's easier when there are fewer of them fighting for screentime.
