A 30 day Big Brother: how?

Another lesson that should be learned from the rewatch is that too much is too much. While I think the notion that modern audiences have short attention spans is a fallacy (we will make the investment if the investment is worth making) I think there’s a lot to be said about the mid to late 10 era seasons being too much was a contributing factor as to why the show started to decline. What was once considered a compelling slow burn became more like a chore… Pumping in intruder after intruder, twist after twist, and special after special killed off natural flow of story telling (beginning, middle, and end). What once was considered added value became mundane, boring, and no longer worth the investment. BB may be an “experience” but viewers don’t want to be beat over the head with it.

I’m wondering if we’re getting shorter eviction cycles with a 4-6 week run..

They could fit 2 eviction cycles into 1 week:

Monday - Nominations
Tuesday - Daily Show
Wednesday - Daily Show
Thursday - Eviction

Friday - Nominations - Helps to drive viewers on a normally dead night for 10

Saturday obviously no episode
- Directs eyeballs to the live feeds on 10.com.au

Sunday - Eviction

The only drawback could be eviction fatigue but I think we’ve passed the era of a week long cycle

The recent BBUK seasons have been quite short in comparison to the original seasons and I think they've done them well. Hopefully Aus can do the same

Yeah look, controversial opinion but I honestly think I prefer that these days. We’ll have to see how it’s executed but I don’t oppose the idea of 5-6 week runs, with no more than 5 or 6 episodes per week.

Gone are the days of 80+ days and hundreds of episodes. Nobody got time for that anymore.

Trueee, but after all the effort they've put in for promos and spreading the word around I bet they're gonna make this season beyond worth it!!

I agree. They can do it in a shorter format without feeling rushed for sure.

Just my opinion, duration of the seasons aside, I think ITV have dug the UK version deeper into a grave. Not to mention the rushed feeling of the final week/10 days. I hope the season starting next month is good, but my expectations aren't high.

Honestly I think they've done a great job at rejuvenating the franchise but keeping it faithful to the original seasons. It's not as good as the channel 4 era but absolutely better then channel 5's civilian seasons. Channel 5 did great with celeb format but their regular seasons didn't stack up in my opinion.

We could also do:

Sunday: Eviction (and launch night).
Monday: Nominations.
Tuesday: Daily Show.
Wednesday: Eviction (and finale).
Thursday: Nominations.
Friday: Daily Show.

Saturday: Some form of up late/adults only/uncut to be aired late at night.

That was basically Nine’s version by the end of it.
