5 thoughts.... (Week 1)

Quite simply give us 5 thoughts on what you think of the show so far...

  1. The train twist was actually a half decent launch twist executed pretty well
  2. The love angle is as tedious as fuck and getting more tedious by the episode.
  3. Two different alternating formats makes no sense at all.
  4. The sisters don't have one personality between them.
  5. When Sonia isn't the worst thing about the show she's hosting the show clearly has real problems.

1. I think showing us more of the social aspects of the house more than the gameplay has been refreshing and had they taken that angle in the 2020 series it could have been a lot more well off

2. These housemates are bringing nothing to the table, when Graciemae is the only one bringing any kind of opinion or judgment to the table you know somethings wrong with the casting

3. There’s more sexual tension between the guys than there is between the guys and girls. These men are dying for it.

4. Sonia in the eviction room has been a good addition. I’d like it if she walked the housemate out and they did an ad hoc interview outside the house before the housemate leaves the compound

5. The maxi challenges should have been cut from this season and the housemates should have nominations on set days instead. There’s no need for the challenges when the show isn’t focusing on the gameplay as much this season, free up that part of the budget for something better.

1. They voted out the two oldest women and two of the more intelligent housemates back to back.

2. I like Minee. I think she is going against the usual archetype of the young dumb blonde that we see on these shows and I like that.

3. I think Louis and Gracie Mae are more strategic than they are being edited as. They are clearly gonna work together to take down these other fools.

4. Dion reminds me of Joel from 2007 and I don't like that. However I think he still might be the most entertaining guy in the house (bar is on the floor).

5. Cutting the length of the episode and not focusing as much on the strategy early on has actually been a good move, even if the ratings disagree.

1. Whoever cast this season needs a strong talking to.

2. I quite liked the opening episode with the train. Things were wearing a bit thin by episode three. Last night, I just fastforwarded through 90% of the episode. Having endured all the footage of Keiran, and every episode of other subpar iterations of 7's "BB", this was a first for me.

3. GracieMae and Lewis and possibly Louis are the only semi-normal people in there.

4. I am not interested in "sexy singles".

5. The intruders, far from shaking things up, look like more of the same.

Of course [female minority] got the arse first!

"I don't know her well enough" is just bogan for NOT MY TYPE, CAN'T BE BOTHERED.

Meanwhile, someone named "Minee" is running around rent free. Let's not forget the first one that made the strongest visual impression on me, Annasophia:

The guys are all vile. Why doesn't production just create a glory hole for Jake to slip his dick into instead of trying to make this mouth-breather the main character.

CLOSE. YOUR. MOUTH. YOU. HAVE. LIPS.

Low self-esteem entrant for 2023, Graciemae,IMMEDIATELY putting herself on the shelf by asking the males who they're "vibing" with, purposefully taking herself out of the running because she's upset she has a few rolls. Bless.

1. I wish they hadn't turned it into a Love Island clone
2. Big Brother pre-dates that trash and should be cleverer than that
3. They seem to think we are all here for the 'romance'. So we get about a minute with the tall jock and whoever that he is kissing, complete with squelching noises
4. The above and yet we know next to nothing about how these people conduct real conversations
5. One good thing is how this generation are so at ease with body and sexuality issues. It is progress to see 'straight' guys who can openly compliment each other. When I was at school you would have been bashed if you so much as glanced at anyone else in the showers, and I can't imagine what would happen if you told another guy they had a nice ass.

1. Turning the show into a clone of Love Island was clearly a huge mistake
2. The casting this year is all wrong, enough of instagram models and blokes who might look good in the gym but have zero personality
3. The love and romance part of it is ugh.
4. Sonia Kruger is clearly overexposed on Seven, does she need to host any more shows?
5. Could it get worse if it returns in 2024? Of course it could, they'll probably ask their new wonderboy Dr Chris Brown to host it.

Nah its still pretty much the same as it was. Its just the 'tiktok' 'instagram' 'influencer' crowd that they have chosen for the show (trust me they are still not the majority of young people) who are more at ease.

It feels like a room of middle-aged castaways from the magazine publishing industry tried to imagine what Gen Z would want to watch and failed miserably. They wouldn't realise that Plan B, i.e. watching couples, is both uninteresting and irritating in equal measures because the only thing they're in a relationship with is a cat and five hundred pot plants.

If they were at all in touch with that demographic, BBAU2023 would be a self-sustainable house full of 21 year old POCs and one white girl they can be racist "but not racist" towards. They'd sit around whining about mental health issues and being sex negative while the largest girl of the group would spend most of her time completely naked and unkempt, covered in tattoos of equally Rubenesque cat-women.

An introvert/intersex would expend most of their energy pretending to have Tourette's, while a group of they/them find a safe space to discuss how important their opinions are.

Would I watch that tho? no.

Dont forget the daily acknowledgement of country, name tags with preferred pronouns, and gender affirmation leave from the house for T/E shots. :)

It's not the Tiktok crowd. Gen Z are about authenticity. (Most) young people on Tiktok look at the "influencers" you speak of on Instagram and cringe hard. What you're thinking of as influencer is a Millennial construction and it's already very out of fashion. Most housemates on BBAU are young millennials. There's not a day that goes by where Millennials don't cause me pain. I am an ageing Millennial.

I giggled at this because I've seen this corner of Tiktok.

You took it beyond the joke. Let this be a warning that the owner of this website is a hardcore leftwing socialist.
