She made no attempt to shy away from confrontation in the Big Brother house, but Katie was still 'shocked' to learn of her Queen Bee nickname.
The 25-year-old from Sydney was the third housemate to be evicted, leaving the compound on Tuesday night and found some interesting revelations waiting for her on the other side.
After looking through the nominations with host Sonia Kruger during the live show, she said she was still coming to terms with her nickname.

Evicted! The housemates were sick of her fiery, 'Queen Bee' attitude and it seems the public were too so Katie was given the boot from the Big Brother house on Tuesday night

Goodbyes! Despite being up against Priya and Travis, it was Katie who was least liked by the public
'I can't believe that,' she told the Daily Mail Australia.

'I was shocked, to be honest, when I heard that at the start.
'I'm just a person who speaks their mind and I stay true to myself.
'If that's what comes with it, then I'm fine with that.'

Despite being up against Priya and Travis, Katie who was evicted from the house on with 26 per cent of the public vote, she said she knew that she would be going home the moment she was nominated.
'I had myself totally prepared and I knew that I was going home last night,' she said.
'It didn't come as a huge shock, but it was still shocking though regardless.'
The reverend's daughter said listening to the nominations was 'very strange' but didn't come as a huge surprise, 'I was able to picture who would have nominated me, that wasn't too much of a surprise.'

'I stayed true to myself': The reverend's daughter said she has no regrets about her behaviour in the house, especially her confrontations with other housemates
Faced with hearing people's feedback on her personality Katie said it was a surreal but enlightening experience.
'You don't usually sit down after two or three weeks of knowing someone and pick apart their personality, but also in someways it's a huge opening for personal growth and I think that's what you've got to take from it.
The confrontation-loving nanny-cum-cupcake maker said she has no regrets about her behaviour in the house, even her infamous blow outs with fellow contestant Skye: 'I absolutely do not regret a thing, particularly with my confrontations with people that's what I pride myself on.

Whilst TheFix is yet another NineMSN website, found this piece to be interesting:

"Big Brother's latest evictee Katie Schepis was quick to strike back upon hearing that housemate Jake Richardson actually lives with last year's winner Tim Dormer in real life.
"I can't believe that!" Katie told TheFIX exclusively, adding that none of the other housemates were privy to this game-changing piece of information.

What's more, when Tim re-entered the house in week two, Katie says the two acted like they'd never met. "That was the weirdest thing, they'd stay far away from each other," she observed.

Scandal! Being tight with a known strategist with a proven track record is bound to have its advantages. "Of course they've had conversations, 100 percent," she said.

"I don’t know who the real Jake is but he's definitely sneaky and he's definitely playing on things, I think people don't know the real Jake as yet."

She may be gone from the show, but the 25-year-old has a parting gift to her newfound enemy, his very own nickname: "Jake The Snake… hashtag Jake The Snake!"

She has been showcasing her changing shape in colourful gowns in the full glare of the Big Brother media spotlight.
But on Wednesday television stalwart Sonia Kruger made the most of her free time when she relaxed on a Gold Coast beach dressed down - but still couldn't resist standing in front of the camera to show off her burgeoning bump.
The Big Brother host, 49, struck a wholesome figure in a black singlet and white shorts as she strolled along the golden sands barefoot.

Show bump: Hours later on Wednesday, she posted another snap of her backstage ahead of presenting Big Brother with the caption 'I think I need a size bigger...in everything!'
And she took to her instagram to boast of her morning stroll in Queensland, where the reality show is filmed, to write: 'I thought we were having a production meeting...where is everyone? #todaysoffice'

Her message was greeted enthusiastically by fans including model and TV host Laura Scortan who cooed: 'Looking amazing babe.'
Popular presenter Sonia announced her IVF pregnancy on social media just over a month ago and her fast-changing shape has been the focus of almost every public appearance.
Looking effortlessly stylish each time she steps on stage, Sonia has been keping her look simple yet striking.
She kept her eviction night attire last week elegant in black, while opting for a mauve floor-length gown when attention-seeker Gemma was booted off last week.

'You've got to ask Big Brother for condoms': Tim Dormer reveals on radio why it's rare to see people getting it on in the house and calls current housemates 'vulgar'
By Karishma Sarkari for Daily Mail Australia
Published: 19:58 AEST, 1 October 2014 | Updated: 23:12 AEST, 1 October 2014
Tim Dormer's become the aficionado on all things Big Brother after winning last year's series and returning to the house this season.
So when he spoke to KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday morning, they were hoping for a bit of insight but got a little more than they expected.
'Everyone seems to be hooking up at the moment! I was surprised when I went in there, just how much we're not being shown,' Tim said.

1412142860827_wps_30_Tim_Dormer_and_real_flat_.jpg

Revealing chat: Tim Dormer told the Kyle and Jackie O Show that if you want to have sex in the Big Brother house the protocol is that you have to go into the Diary Room and ask for condoms
'They're vulgar,' he added in disgust, saying some of the boys would announce after they'd masturbated in the house.
'They're all trying to hook up and some of them have girlfriends on the outside but they're flirting in there - I can't keep up with the hooks up in there these days,' he admitted.

Although, it seemed like Tim wasn't entirely innocent.
When it came time during his recent stint to pick one person to spend the night with inside The Sanctuary, he confessed 'I really wanted Skye' but thought against it after Big Brother gave him a stern warning.

Safe sex: Big Brother has a duty of care to contestants, therefore they're required to ask for condoms before taking it further

'I can't keep up': Tim said there were so many hook ups happening inside the Big Brother house this year
1412142542874_wps_27_Capture5_PNG.jpg

Kisses in the house: A number of this year's contestants have been fooling around
'If you dare make moves on any of those girls Tim, I'll boot you out of that house straight away,' Tim alleges he was told.
'You know that was one of the only things I didn't do when I was on Big Brother, is have sex.
'I would have liked to have just ticked that box' he confessed to the radio duo.'
After suggesting it's 'not allowed', Tim divulged further to reveal why it doesn't happen very often.

'Vulgar': Tim described the 2014 contestants as lewd on Sydney radio on Wednesday morning
1412156440503_Image_galleryImage_vlcsnap_2014_09_21_23h24m.JPG

'They're all trying to hook up': Last year's winner said even the boys with girlfriends outside the house are trying to get with the other housemates
'You've actually got to go into the Diary Room and ask Big Brother for condoms - you get sat down and told that before the show,' he admitted.
'You know why? It's so they can round up extra staff "get on the cameras in the bedroom now!"' he mocked, before explaining it was due to their 'duty of care' to contestants.
Although, the trio couldn't help joking about what Big Brother might do if people weren't having safe sex.
'This is Big Brother. If it's not on, it's not on,' co-host Kyle Sandilands mocked.
'I still get freaked out when I hear that,' Tim confessed when Kyle put on his best Big Brother voice earlier in the chat.
1412157391999_Image_galleryImage_Tim_Dormer_and_real_flat_.JPG

Not so innocent: Tim says the only thing he didn't do in the house last time was have sex and it was something he was thinking of ticking off the list this time... with Skye
1412156513015_Image_galleryImage_Big_Brother_2014_Lockdown.JPG

Into The Sanctuary? Tim revealed he wanted to take Skye into The Sanctuary with him when he got to spend the night in there but Big Brother said he'd be booted out if he tried anything funny with the girls
He also mentioned that cameras in lifts also make him feel like he's still being watched.
Speaking of his real-life housemate Jake, who's currently inside the house, the curly haired blonde confirmed the pair have been living together for six months after Jake split from his girlfriend and needed a place to stay. The first got to know each other from working together in radio.
'His room's empty in my house, I haven't filled it - he's still paying rent, I'm living on my own, I'm loving it!' he said.
Although, he's surprised with the persona his friend appears to have created for himself on the show, telling Kyle and Jackie O: 'He's kind of playing it up a little bit.
'The one we're seeing now is becoming more Jake, he's a lot more, kind of, emotional and loves to have these analytical conversations and the other ones in the house are so dull.'

Winner: Tim leaving the house last series to cheers as the ultimate Big Brother housemate

Back inside! He returned briefly to the house this season to cause a bit of a stir
While Jake cries poor in the house, his real-life housemate ratted him out on radio, saying he lives a luxury lifestyle.
'He does live pay cheque to pay cheque, but mate, there's a lot more cheaper suburbs [to rent] than Bondi,' he laughed, adding that Jake also spends his money buying organic shampoo and 'fancy foods'.
While the boys go way back, it seems they might be more frenemies that friends with Tim hesitating when asked if he wanted Jake to win this series.
'I don't want to be "the two guys living together in Bondi,"' before saying he felt like his housemate was stealing his thunder.
'He went bounding in there and was like "whooo" - that was me,' he exclaimed of Jake's opening night antics, adding: 'It kinda creeped me out a bit.'

Real life housemates: The former winner has been living with current housemate Jake for the past six months

Reunited: The pair were reunited briefly when Tim went back into the house
'I'm willing to admit I was annoying, but when Jake did it he just came across as if he was trying to be me.'
'And then there were these rumours that we were housemates and it's all a bit "urgh, what's going on?"' he sniped.
Tim appears to be quite content lapping up all the attention on his own, confessing he gets mobbed when he heads out around Bondi Beach, especially during school holidays.
1412157034599_Image_galleryImage_Tim_Dormer_and_real_flat_.JPG

Surprise: The curly-haired blonde had some treats for the contestants
'Yesterday, there was a line about 50 school girls deep,' he said in shock.
While Tim entered the house briefly at the start of the series, Big Brother will introduce a new intruder into the house on Wednesday night's show.
Only time will tell if the intruder will be the first one this series to head into the Diary Room to ask for condoms.
Big Brother continues Wednesday 8.40pm on the Nine Network.

'It was cruel': Big Brother evictee Katie reduced to tears when producers staged a stunt involving her father... as she reveals she's 'shocked' by Queen Bee status

Big Brother Australia evictee Katie Schepis has called out the show's producers for being 'cruel'.
The 25-year-old's spate in the reality TV compound ended on Tuesday night, but before she was ousted from the house she was reduced to shuddering tears in a stunt involving a phone call from her father Andrew.
'It was a bit mean - it was cruel', she said of the incident to news.com.au on Wednesday.

Uncomfortable viewing: The 25-year-old was pushed to choose between speaking to her dear dad or losing the house their food budget for the week, in the yes/no task
In a yes/no game designed to test the contestants willpower, Katie faced the proverbial carrot - a phone call from her beloved reverend father, but accepting meant failing the weekly task and losing the group's food budget.

Turning down the offer, the nanny from Sydney was left in tears.
'It was awful. It was extreme. I think it was just as hard on dad as it was on me. He heard me wailing in the background.'
The confrontational housemate also revealed she was 'shocked' to learn of her Queen Bee nickname upon leaving the compound on Tuesday night.
After looking through the nominations with host Sonia Kruger during the live show, she said she was still coming to terms with her nickname.

'I stayed true to myself on every instance.'
Pitted together with Priya as the first week's Head Of House was a struggle she said, revealing that she did feel pressure to take the $20,000, which caused bad feeling in the house as it was deducted from the $250,000 prize money.
'There was immense amounts of pressure at that point, I wouldn't say she [Priya] pushed me to taking $10,000 because I mean, come on where's the logic in that.
'I was considering the group as a whole but she was considering her financial situations more than the group.'

Pressure: Katie said she felt her and Priya (pictured) had different motives when it came to the decision to take $20,000 during their Head Of House week
In close cahoots with Ryan and Lisa, Katie said her one-time snog with graphic designer won't be going any further, 'Ryan and I are just friends and I really value our friendship.'
Giving her two dollars worth on the rest of the budding romances in the house the brunette said: 'The ones that have relationships on the outside bother me, but Aisha and Travis by all means let them go and have a fun time while they are there.'
Talking of Skye and Jake's hook up she continued: 'It took me by surprise when I found out, but they're both young and dumb and doing silly stuff.'
And despite Katie's confident outlook the cameras would have made her think twice about starting a relationship, but she said 'it's a place where you need the emotional contact'.

Seven deadly nominees! David, Travis, Jake, Skye, Aisha, Cat and Lisa all up for elimination while new intruder Leo enjoys a steamy dinner date

David, Travis, Jake, Skye, Aisha, Cat and Lisa have all been nominated for eviction next week.
The whopping number of seven housemates nominated is all down to the Head Of House, Sam, and how he divided out his points on Wednesday night's show.
The Paralympian had 12 points to use, so he decided to throw a spanner in the works and nominated Aisha to go up against her beau, Travis, in a bid to shake up their relationship.

Up for the chop... again! David and Skye look upset to be up for nomination again alongside Travis, Jake, Aisha, Cat and Lisa
He used one point to see himself on the board and was glad that he wasn't anywhere near the top. He was also happy to see Lawson was safe but wasn't pleased that his new friend Lisa was near the top.

It came a shock to the housemates that so many people were on the chopping board, particularly cocky David, who ran and jumped up and down when his name was called out.
It was a bitter-sweet night for the roomies as they were also introduced to the intruder - Leo from Canada.

The muscular blonde was thrilled to be introduced to the crowd by a very pregnant Sonia Kruger, who stunned in a full-length, electric blue frock.
Wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue jeans and white Converse, he told the 49-year-old host how he was once 'really overweight' but how he changed his life around to become so 'active' and 'fit'.
'I changed the way I ate. I changed the people I hung with. I just changed the way I thought.'
He also revealed that he doesn't own a television and 'hasn't seen any of the show' because he prefers to be outdoors, especially in the Gold Coast.

'I love being on the Gold Coast. It's really beautiful. There's too much life to live,' he laughed.
Good news for the housemates, Leo claims he's not into making trouble for others.
'I am pretty cruisy. I can get along with everyone. I am not troublemaker,' he revealed.
'I'm very spiritual. I mediate a lot and do a lot of yoga.'
Sonia made a bit of blip telling the proud Canadian: 'I love your American accent!'

The conversation looked to be lacking so Lisa started telling him all about the other housemates.
They both looked relieved that the romantic date was over and it was time for Leo's big introduction to the rest of the house.

Meanwhile, the Yes/No task was still firmly in place and it was Lawson who was on the receiving end.
He was called into the diary room and Big Brother asked him if he would like Cat to give him a fresh fishy slap. Lawson obliged and the tiny blonde hit him a scaly slap.
But it didn't stop there. A cheeky Big Brother then invited Jake, Sandra, Sam to step right up to the wet fish and hit the magic man where it hurts.

It's been pent up inside her for days now but she finally let the Cat out of the bag on Thursday night's Big Brother to tell Lawson how she really feels.
Sitting cosily together in the hamster wheel, Cat, 31, cried as she told the 23-year-old magic man: 'I genuinely have feelings for you... Not friendship feelings. Real feelings for you.'
'It’s really hard for me because of the situation that you’re in, and I want to be completely respectful of that but I find I have to pull away and not be around you as much as I would like to be,' she told him, speaking of his girlfriend, Candice Leeder, in the real world.

'I feel like I'm constantly having to be careful of what I do and what I say because I don’t want to put you in a really uncomfortable position,' the divorced, cougar added.

Despite his long-term gal pal, Lawson agreed with Cat and says he feels the same way.
'If you think you are alone in what you are feeling, then you are wrong. I feel exactly the same way,' he told her.

But he said taking things any further was 'not a possibility' alluding to Candice.
'It's hard to have feelings for someone who can't have feelings for you back,' Cat cried again.
'What would you like from me? I can not muck around with you?' Lawson asked but Cat said she didn't want that and she asked him for a cuddle, which he obliged.

Meanwhile, there's another housemate, whose heart is all a flutter over the new addition, Leo.

'I think there’s going to be a little bit of competition between some of the more alpha males in the house,' Jake said in the diary room, singling out Lawson as the one who will be most threatened.
Following the announcement that there will be seven people up for eviction, David, who had the most nominations, called everyone 'cowards'.
'I don't care that I get on people's nerves. I feel that there are a lot of cowards in here,' he growled.

They were given the boot this week, but on Thursday night former Big Brother housemates Katie Schepis and Dion Kallis looked thrilled to be enjoying life on the outside.

They spent even more time together at the The NRL Footy Show Grand Final at the Qantas Credit Union Arena in Sydney, marking its 21st birthday.

Clearly enjoying her five seconds of fame, the preacher's daughter looked chic in a black playsuit as she watched Justice Crew and Slash take the stage.

'Queen Bee', as she was nicknamed in the house, matched the look with gold, strappy sandals.

She left her ombre tresses down and over one shoulder.

Meanwhile, crossfit-loving Dion looked suave in a navy blue dinner jacket. He wore a light blue shirt under it with a pair of blue jeans.

To complete the look, he opted for comfort over fashion in brown, laced-up ankle boots.

The handsome salesman from Brisbane, who certainly won a bevy of female fans after stripping down on the show during his daily workouts, was shown the door on Monday night.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, he revealed he is amused and flattered by his new television sex symbol status.

That's a pretty funny term,' he said when informed of his sex symbol status upon exiting the house.

'It’s going to be weird hearing those reactions. It’s really nice.'

While the dark-haired stud was often hitting the gym in the Big Brother house, he admitted his real-life workout schedule up until entering the house three weeks ago was well spread out across the week and achievable for fans to follow.

Meanwhile, Katie, who was evicted on Tuesday, said was 'shocked' to learn of her Queen Bee nickname upon leaving the compound.

After looking through the nominations with host Sonia Kruger during the live show, she said she was still coming to terms with her nickname.

'I can't believe that,' she told Daily Mail Australia.

'I was shocked, to be honest, when I heard that at the start.

'I'm just a person who speaks their mind and I stay true to myself.

'If that's what comes with it, then I'm fine with that.'

After reading the article about asking BB for condoms, it has got me thinking. I wonder if any of the past and present HMs have done the dirty?

If I was in the house I don't know how I'll feel about being watched doing the dirty. I remember during a couple of Uncut episodes Kane (BB04) and Tim (BB05) said that they masturbated.

I'm not buying what he's selling': Intruder Leo isn't well received by Big Brother contestants who question his 'authenticity and rawness'

Being the new kid on the block is never easy - and being the new man in the Big Brother house is even harder.
Leo entered the mansion on Thursday night's episode, with the 30-year-old being the first 'intruder' to join the housemates.
But even with bulging muscles and a Canadian accent to boot, his fellow contestants aren't sold on the Gold Coast native's overtly chatty and vain personality.

Intruder alert: Even with his attractive looks, Intruder Leo has gotten off on the wrong foot with his fellow house mates in under 48 hours
1412344686169_wps_7_bb_0304_jpg.jpg

Lisa, 29, was the first to meet the new housemate in a private dinner date before anyone else, but unsurprisingly she was also the first to talk behind his back once she got to know him better.
Sitting in the diary room, the blonde Sydney-sider broke her silence telling Big Brother 'I'm not buying what Leo is selling'.
'Every time he’s talking I feel like he’s selling something; selling himself or selling an ideal or a dream or a story.'

Zen time for Leo: Leo's preachy spirituality has annoyed housemate Sam 'Every question that he answers is something deep and meaningful'
1412344797202_wps_9_Big_Brother_Screen_grabs_.jpg

Even bulging biceps aren't winning any friends: Working out next to the girls in the house, Leo showed off a ripped torso and large arms
1412346085802_wps_14_Big_Brother_Screen_grabs_.jpg

Sandra - the voice of reason: Chatting to a dismayed Sam, Sandra pointed out 'Basically he does have to be a salesperson; he has to win us over. We know that, for him to stay, we have to sacrifice one of us.'
Leo has quickly tried to sell himself to his housemates, knowing that the other contestants have the advantage of knowing each other better because they have lived in the same head quarters since the beginning of September when the show commenced.
Like Lisa, 26-year-old Sam hasn't bought into Leo's proposed character yet, seeking solace in the house's most level-headed contestant Sandra.
'He’s a nice guy…he’s definitely an interesting guy…but he needs to drop all the motivational weighty s***. Every question that he answers is something deep and meaningful' Sam shared.
Sandra offered Sam some words of wisdom by saying 'basically he does have to be a salesperson; he has to win us over. We know that, for him to stay, we have to sacrifice one of us.'

Fuming over lunch: 31-year-old David from Sydney heard all about Leo's annoying behaviours from Sam over lunch
1412345234800_wps_12_bb_0302_jpg.jpg

Fancy wasting soft drink: 'He pours a whole can of soft drink and just drinks some of it!” he angrily told David
Interjecting Sandra and Sam, Leo later walked into the room and confided in the pair 'This sounds like a real d**** thing to say, but I can get away with a lot of personality faults, kinda looking the way I do.'
But it was when Leo cracked open a new can of soft drink just to take a few sips and not finish the entire drink that really annoyed Sam, who is conscious of the limited pantry supplies in the house.
'He pours a whole can of soft drink and just drinks some of it!' he angrily told David.
1412345221330_wps_10_Big_Brother_Screen_grabs_.jpg

Planking it out: The boys of the house took to the opposite side of the garden, away from new intruder Leo, so that they could gossip about the newcomer
The majority of the boys in the house have also found fault in the new Alpha male.
Making sure to exercise away from the Canadian 'intruder' they quickly gossiped about Leo.
Ryan, a graphic designer from Sydney, is perplexed after the new muscly gent said he wasn't one to go to the gym - despite his ripped body.
Adding to his confusion, Leo was the first to pick up a dumbbell in the morning in the outdoor gym.
Talking to Jake, Ryan shared that he overheard Leo saying 'I’ve never been one for gym. I don’t reckon it’d make me anymore fit to be honest'.
Lawson remarked to the 'original' men of the house as they planked on gym mats 'he doesn't have a strong core anyway'.
Clearly feeling some shade from Lawson, Leo privately spoke to Big Brother in the diary room.
'Lawson has a bit of an authority thing going on, I don't know if he's going to warm up to me yet, but I'm going to play that one super cool, I'm going to let him think he's the Alpha and try and not get on his nerves'
1412346102294_wps_15_Big_Brother_Screen_grabs_.jpg

Not one to go to the gym? Ryan is annoyed at Leo for lying about not liking to workout, since the intruder was the first to hit the gym in the morning

Never forget leg day: Aisha proved she was one of the boys by commenting on Leo's body. The petite 22-year-old said 'his legs are small too, he forgot leg day'

Big Brother love triangle! Cat and Lawson reveal their feelings for each other but he says taking things any further is 'not a possibility' because he has a girlfriend

Tully Smyth on falling in love on reality television: ‘It is possible’

  • 2 hours ago October 04, 2014 12:12PM
Bachelor finale: Blake proposes
external

THURSDAY night was a big night of romance on reality television.

Channel 10 saw us in the deepest depths of South Africa for the finale of the second season of The Bachelor while over on Channel 9, Big Brother housemate Cat was confessing her forbidden love to Lawson, the magician with a girlfriend.

MORE: Sam says ‘Blake’s calling the shots’

MORE: Tully’s take on this season’s housemates

First and foremost, it would be amiss not to mention my very own reality television romance.

Watching first Sam and Sandra and then Cat and Lawson’s awkward fumbling through the initial stages of a full-blown Big Brother romance — I cringed and hid behind a pillow.

Did my friends and family really have to watch me do this? Is that what Drew and I looked like? Were we that obvious? That ostentatiously flirtatious? And perhaps more importantly, that blatantly disrespectful?

Tuning in to see Cat tearily confessing her attraction to Lawson in what us old housemates called the ‘circle of love’ (a.k.a. THE place for all big deep and meaningful conversations in the Big Brother house) I found myself yelling to the television screen, probably similar sentiments to the rest of the Australian public: “Do you REALLY have real feelings for him? It’s only been a few weeks!”

“Oh god Lawson what do you mean ‘she’s not alone in this’? Does that mean you also like her, or that you feel similarly awkward about the situation?”

“Poor Lawson’s girlfriend having to watch this!”

And then I realised I was a total hypocrite. The truth of the matter is I could relate to a lot of what Cat and Lawson were saying.

Cat, who was feeling attracted to someone who was very much off-limits, and was so worried and acutely aware of said attraction that she had begun to avoid Lawson in the Big Brother house, which is not an easy feat.

844590-a1797414-4ac7-11e4-9e77-7409857ba1a2.jpg

Cat told Lawson how she really felt in the BB house this week. Source: Supplied

Something that felt especially true to me was when Cat said she “missed Lawson” and felt like she hadn’t seen him in ages. To the general public- that might sound ridiculous. You’re trapped in a house together 24 hours, 7 days a week, how could you possibly miss someone?

But I used to feel similar about Drew. I would get so anxious and worried that we were spending too much time together, so would try hanging out with different housemates, or avoid areas of the house he was in. Come dinner time, it would feel like it had been a week since

I’d seen him and all I would want to do is hang out and play frisbee.

Lawson is probably feeling equally confused and wary. He clearly loves his partner on the outside world, as I did mine. But the mentality and situation he is now in is so bizarre and foreign, he’s probably loving spending time with Cat as much as she is. And isn’t quite sure if it’s real or if it’s the house making him feel that way.

That mentality is something I’ve struggled to explain to people since leaving the house- my poor ex especially- and something I’ve since decided no one else will ever fully understand, unless of course you were also in the Big Brother house.

The drama is already through the roof in the Big Brother house. Source: News Corp Australia

The Big Brother experience puts everything under a microscope and I mean this in more ways than one. Firstly, every single thing you do is filmed, noted and then put on national television for the whole of Australia to watch, judge and scrutinise. It also however, makes every little thing seem 10 times bigger/better/worse.

For example, you wake up to discover that your real life housemate has decided to use the last bit of Vegemite on their toast in the morning. No biggy. You’ll grab some on the way home from work. Your Big Brother housemate commits the same crime? All hell breaks loose! You worked HARD for that shopping budget. You danced for 24 hours straight!

You sacrificed some Face Time with your husband/completed some sort of task! You, as a group, chipped in and voted to splurge and add the jar of Vegemite to the shopping list, sacrificing the second block of cheese.

You’d all discussed using it sparingly, agreeing to only having one piece of toast a day. You have to wait a whole week to do the next grocery shop and what if you lose the task and can’t afford luxuries such as Vegemite?

Now imagine this kind of amplification on a crush.

Feelings and emotions on reality TV are always amplified. Source: Supplied

In the real world, Cat would probably never have met Lawson. There is a an eight-year age gap between the two of them, so I doubt they’d be hanging out at the same pubs on the weekend.

She also probably doesn’t normally make a habit of going after taken men. But it’s the Big Brother house. And she’s starving for affection and what feels like a real, genuine human connection. Not a surface ‘frenemy’ friendship with somebody she’s pretty sure nominated her that very morning.

She’s missing friends and family. And he’s a nice guy, sweet, funny, saved her the last bit of potato salad at dinner last night.

I don’t blame Cat and neither should you. It’s a crazy, messed up minefield in that house and these things happen. You really have no right to judge unless you’ve been in that very same situation and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you haven’t.

That being said, never have I felt more horrible for making my ex watch the #Drully saga unfold then after watching the conversation between Cat and Lawson last night.

Lawson’s girlfriend will now be replaying that conversation, pulling apart Lawson’s facial expression and the specific words he used over and over again in her head, trying to decipher what he meant. Is he serious? Is this real?

843080-a1d3e988-4ac9-11e4-9e77-7409857ba1a2.jpg

Lawson had no idea what he was in for when he entered the Big Brother house. Source: News Corp Australia

The time it takes a Big Brother housemate to forget the whole of Australia is watching their every move — including loved ones — is scarily short. In their heads, they were having a private conversation away from the rest of the housemates.

Except they were both wearing microphones. And sitting in front of a one-way mirror which had a camera guy pressed up against the glass mere centimetres away from their heads.

Is the romance between Cat and Lawson genuine? I don’t know. Will Lawson stay faithful to his girlfriend? I can’t tell you. Are Cat’s feeling’s real or a result of her situation? Not for me to say.

And what’s the go with the other love triangle, Sam and Sandra? Who bloody knows!

What I can tell you is that it IS possible to fall in love with someone on reality TV.

It’s possible for it to be real, and not a ‘showmance’. It’s possible to make it work on the outside, away from the cameras. And it’s possible, and very probable, for humans to make mistakes.

I know, because I’ve done all of the above.

The magician makes his relationship disappear! Magic man Lawson shares a kiss with Cat...days after rejecting her due to his girlfriend outside Big Brother Australia

Last week Cat approached Lawson to reveal her 'genuine feelings' for him - but the two decided to just be friends, mainly because of The Magic Man's girlfriend on the outside.
But their resolve didn't last too long, as the two locked lips on Sunday's episode of Big Brother.
It came after Cat, 31, was named Head Of House, and was made to choose one housemate to join her in the intimate and luxurious Sanctuary - eventually opting for Lawson.

Intimate: Cat was announced as the new Head Of House, and given the choice of one person to join her in the luxurious Sanctuary - eventually choosing the magician of the house
The housemates, who had speculated on who the Melbourne midwife would choose, were elated when Lawson was announced to be her companion for the night.
After a tour through the Sanctuary together, which involved the magic enthusiast promising to beat Cat in a game of Twister, she explained that he was picked after she asked herself 'who would I actually enjoy spending time with?'

'Where are you planning on sleeping?,' she asked, daring 'you're welcome to sleep on the other side of the bed.'
Big Brother, ever the wingman, turned the lights off once they hit the sack - where a kiss could be heard from under the sheets.
'My favourite part about tonight is right now,' she said gleefully.

Unbeknownst to Cat and Lawson, their prospective romance caused quite the a stir with the other housemates.
After the pair adjourned to the Sanctuary, a lively discussion was had among the housemates, who were all crowded into the hot tub.
'If I had a missus on the outside and a girl wanted to take me to sanctuary I'd say thanks but I'm not going,' Travis proclaimed.
But after Lisa joked that the two were talking about 'cheating,' David interjected.
'I don’t mean to be rude but I think what’s happening now is really inappropriate,' he said earnestly.

Big words: This launched him into a war of words with Lisa, who told the formerly bearded radiologist to 'f*** off'
The two got into a war of words after Lisa interrupted David's attempt to defend his stance, with the formerly bearded radiologist raging 'someone’s asked me a question, don’t throw an insult in my face!'
She then told him to 'f*** off' and called him disrespectful, while David hit back by saying 'you get away with you want Lisa, because you're Lisa' - to which she replied 'exactly.'
There would be tears shed on both sides, with Lisa telling Big Brother that she was in the wrong and that 'I don't want to be that girl.'
Eventually Dave would forgive and forget, giving the beautiful blonde a big hug and saying 'you honestly have no damage in my eyes…it was just a stupid argument.'
