'I don't think cheating is the worst thing': Big Brother's Cat takes an unusual view on her dalliance with Lawson while Sandra blames her for being nominated
By Penelope Kilby for Daily Mail Australia

It's been an action-packed week in the Big Brother house and friendships, relationships and vanity has been tested.
Lawson was surprised that he topped the nominations ladder this week, naive to the fact that his flirty relationship with Cat and sometimes harsh comments lead to his demise.
Meanwhile Sandra is also confused as to why she is also up for nomination, accusing Cat of using her Power Play to put her there.

Losing popularity: On Friday's episode of Big Brother, Lawson was surprised that he topped the nominations ladder this week, naive to the fact that his flirty relationship with Cat and sometimes harsh comments lead to his demise

Chirpy: Talking about his emotional breakdown the day prior, regarding his kiss-fest with Cat in The Sanctuary, he seemed optimistic despite breaking the heart of his girlfriend on the outside
But that couldn't be further from the truth - shock horror, some people don't enjoy her company.
'I didn't give her a single point,' Cat told Lawson in confidence, but BB heard it all.
It wasn't long before she was called to the diary room to explain herself.
'Cat, talking about nominations is not only against the rules, it's also cheating,' her second 'cheating' scandal in one week.
'Big Brother is giving you one nomination point.'
Lawson then heads up stairs for a chat with BB.

Couldn't be more wrong: Meanwhile Sandra is also confused as to why she is also up for nomination, accusing Cat of using her Power Play to put her there
Talking about his emotional breakdown the day prior, regarding his kiss-fest with Cat in The Sanctuary, he seemed optimistic despite breaking the heart of his girlfriend on the outside.
'I'm very good today Big Brother, much better than yesterday. The sleep did me wonders,' he said with a chirp in his voice.
'I'm still feeling some of the things that I felt, but the meltdown did me good.'
With no mention of his girlfriend Candice, he said: 'I think my mother would still be proud of me for where I am today... I'm just going to move forward and enjoy my time and learn from my mistakes. I'm sure I've got a lot more mistakes to make.'

In trouble: Skye and Cat were then called to the diary room. 'Skye you have been caught for not wearing your microphone no fewer than 37 times in the Big Brother house,' the faceless voice bellowed

Facing the consequences of her actions: 'Cat, as head of house you must escort Skye to the powder room and collect all her makeup and bring it to the diary room'

'Cat, as head of house you must escort Skye to the powder room and collect all her makeup and bring it to the diary room. No one is to lend Skye any makeup until further notice.'
The makeup-loving beauty was shell-shocked.
After cooling down, she returned to the Diary Room to talk out the obvious divide in the house following the hotel-themed task.

Tough moment: The blonde beauty was shell-shocked as she went to collect her most prized possessions for BB
She also admitted that she hopes Sandra gets the chop on eviction night, siting the curly-haired blonde's admission that she wants to be closer to the girls, yet follows to male housemates around like a bad smell.
Talk then turned to 'cheating' and Sandra, Travis, Pryia, Aisha, Skye and Cat gave their two cents.
Sandra was adamant with her views: 'If I knew someone had cheating on me that's the end of the relationship for me.'
Travis agreed: 'If he cheats on her he obviously has a flaw in his personality.'

Tough talk: Sandra was adamant with her views: 'If I knew someone had cheating on me that's the end of the relationship for me,' Priya agreed
Cat piped up with an unconventional view, after all, she is the other women in Lawson's relationship: 'I don't even think cheating is the worst thing a guy can do in a relationship... What's worse than that is someone that hasn't cheated with a girl but has feelings for her.'
It wasn't long before the midwife left the conversation to get a massage from the adulterous Lawson.
But the rest of the group weren't done, analysing the growing love-fest between the odd-pairing, coming to the conclusion that Cat was a 'besotted teenager' while Lawson was less interested.

I should print it out:

"TOO MANY" STORIES SAYS BIG BROTHER PRODUCER

To non-viewers, Big Brother is nothing more than vacuous attention-seekers in a boring Reality series.
To producer Alex Mavroidakis, the show trumps all others in the Reality genre, a nightly soap with a competitive, social experiment.
If the truth lays somewhere in between then it’s up to him to select hours of footage into a compelling hour of narrative television each night.
This year’s series has its own set of challenges, including a later timeslot and lower ratings, which have attracted some criticism. But according to Mavroidakis, he has no shortage of storylines to choose from.
“We have a very outspoken cast this year. From Day One they have gone kaboom. They’re delivering us 3 or 4 storylines a day, which is actually too many, believe it or not,” he tells TV Tonight.
“We’re struggling to tell a cohesive story because there’s too much bloody going on.
“With the greatest of respect to all the other realty shows, you know there’s going to be singing and then a winner; you know there’s going to be renovating and then a winner; you know there’s going to be cooking and then a winner.
“Who the hell know what’s going to happen on Big Brother? We know there will be a winner but god knows what else will happen in the meantime.”
This week’s ‘Hotel’ task has seen division amongst the show’s veritable love-nest, which is just what it was intended to do.
“I feel the cast is just settling down and delivering,” he suggests.
“I really liked the first couple of nights of the series. I thought it worked really well with the pairs and the way we did our launch show, particularly. We were trying to get away from the traditional way the housemates came in one at a time.”
The later timeslot has also created its own subtle shift. In the younger Demos, the show continues to win.
“They’re the ones who keep us alive: that 500,000 people who will watch us whether we’re on at 4:00 in the morning or 7:00 at night. They will keep BB alive. They’re still with us and as long as we’ve got them, we’re laughing,” he explains.
“If Channel Nine want us on at 8:40 we will deliver at 8:40. If they want us at midnight we will deliver at midnight.
“There are more people between the ages of 16-39 watching BB than The X Factor and it starts an hour and ten minutes later and finishes at 10:00 at night. There are more people between the ages of 16 – 54 watching BB than Dancing with the Stars. There are 100,000 people a day Timeshifting BB. There are 100,000 a day watching BB on JumpIn.
“I can’t comment for Nine but if I had my way, and obviously I’m biased, BB would be on 7 days a week at 7:30. But I’m not a Programmer and I’m not stupid enough to bite the hand that feeds me. I have massive respect for Channel 9 for taking a major punt on a show that had a flawed brand 3 years ago.
“But of course if you asked if I’d rather have a consistent timeslot then the answer is Yes.”
Romance continues to dominate, as the story driver it has always been since its first season in 2001.
“We cast the house completely and utterly on personalities. But we are not making a big deal of the fact that Travis and Aisha are spending every waking moment together, because romance is not the big thing of Big Brother. It’s the day to day living, the social experiment, it’s conflict.
“Cat and Lawson and interesting because there’s a third party and they’re so remorseful. A love triangle will always be of interest,” he says.
“Our job as producers is to tell the story of the house. That’s what’s going on. There’s plenty of conflict and plenty of passion.”
On the question of casting, Mavroidakis says he always looks for older housemates during the annual audition tour, but there are inherent problems in finding them and having them commit.
“In an absolute perfect world you would probably have 2 in their 40s, 6 or 7 in their 30s and 6 or 7 in their 20s,” he insists.
“We saw maybe one stand-out person over the age of 35 on the tour, but traditionally on Big Brother as soon as you put in one person who is 40 plus they stand out like dog’s balls. They never have a chance and they’re the first ones out.
“They need to want to be there. But people with big mortgages, big jobs, big families, say they want to be there but when you get down to the final 20 or 30 people and you say ‘You’re about to leave your kids, your $150,000 job, your husband for 3 months’ they say ‘This is not for me.’
“Would I make any changes? Absolutely but I would have done last year and the year before as well.”
Next week a female Intruder will enter the series. Unlike current Intruder Leo, she will have seen the series on air.
“The rules of Intruders are that they absolutely can’t discuss anything that’s happened since the show’s started. But more importantly the rules of the housemate is they can’t ask,” he continues.
“So the onus is on them.”
I also ask Mavroidakis to talk me through the strategy of the first eviction, in which Gemma’s ‘schoolyard-pick’ eviction was branded as ‘bullying.’
“It’s exactly the same as getting fired in the Boardroom on The Apprentice or Tribal Council on Survivor. Gemma is potentially the most dramatic housemate we’ve had, potentially, for years. She wouldn’t have gone any other way and she didn’t give a shit (about it).
“Our plan was always to do a face to face eviction to break up the pairs. It was always going to be a one-off as a stunt to launch the series.
“I’d do it again tomorrow, no problem. If people are talking about Big Brother then we’re doing alright. As soon as they stop talking about it, we’re in big trouble.
“That to me was Reality Television. These people sign up to win $250,000. It’s not a holiday camp. It’s about putting them into uncomfortable situations and asking questions with people they’re uncomfortable with.
“We absolutely want the fun and entertainment, that is our currency, but without a bit of gristle it’s very bland meat.”
Big Brother airs Sundays -Fridays on Nine.

'You get given alcohol and things happen': 2013 housemate Ben Zabel weighs in Cat and Lawson's cheating scandal ahead of his surprise return to the Big Brother house
By Penelope Kilby for Daily Mail Australia

  • He found fame on last year's Big Brother Australia - and now he's heading back to the house.

Former housemate Ben Zabel will return to the compound in Queensland on Tuesday night for a few days of mischief-making.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia ahead entering, Ben said he knows only that he will be shacking up with the 'fake evictee' in the show - one of the two people eliminated tonight, who instead of heading back to real life, will actually be sent to a private sanctuary with Ben.

Fan favourite: Ben Zabel from Big Brother 2013 will return to the house on Tuesday night for a special mission - pictured with the show's host, Sonia Kruger

The gay comedian said he hopes Jason would be the one to join him, but after hearing that the real estate agent has a long-term boyfriend, he fast changed his mind.

'I was like, "Gimme Jason because I've got half a chance!" he joked, adding, "Oh, he’s taken".'

It's clear Ben considers people in partnerships off-limits - unlike current housemates Cat and Lawson, who have caused controversy with their flirtation and secret kisses.

Welcome return! Ben knows little about his mission, only that he will be shacking up with the 'fake evictee'

Magician Lawson, 23, has formed an intimate relationship with Cat, 31, inside the house - despite him having a girlfriend of five years back home in Western Australia.

'The fan in me thinks it’s good TV because it’s drama,' Ben says, 'but I have to say coming out of the house you see what experience your family went through watching.

'Your family really goes on a journey with you, but in a different sense, so I understand what you would be feeling if you were Lawson’s partner - it’s tough.

'You’re in that house and you go nutty and you get given alcohol and things happen.'

If Lawson scores the most points to save, and is moved into the secret room with Ben, the ex-housemate says he wouldn't hesitate to bring up the bedtime rendezvous between Cat and Lawson a fortnight ago.

While he doesn't know much about what's ahead, asked who he would put up for nomination if given the chance, Ben says he's talked it over with 2013 winner Tim Dormer.

'It’s so tempting to say Cat and Lawson - but I might just choose Ryan or Sam,' he revealed.

'I was chatting to Tim about who I might end up in the sanctuary [when I get there], and he said, "Ryan’s boring and Sam’s mean" - so bugger, I'll put them both up!'

    1413262292650_wps_59_A_supplied_image_obtained.jpg

Close bond: Asked who he would nominate if the chance arises, he asked 2013 winner Tim Dormer for advice

Today, Ben says he has benefited greatly from his original experience on Big Brother, which saw him open up about his very personal struggle with depression and how he felt alienated at times because of his sexuality.

'It helped, because acceptance and love is not something I've been showered with in my life,' he says candidly.'That’s no reflection on my family - who was gay, anxious and a vegetarian in the Nineties?

'I grew up thinking I was a criminal, because you could go to jail for being gay until I was in year 12.

'I struggled [with depression] in the Big Brother house, and Australia saw that.

But I found that when you vocalise it and other people do to, it takes away the isolation.'

'I don’t know whether I'm happy with my life now, but it’s fuller - and I don’t feel so alone.'

Housemate Sandra showed her wild side on Monday night's episode of Big Brother Australia, puckering up for a kiss with intruder Leo and trying her hand at writing a Fifty Shades Of Grey-style book.

This week's task involves housemates presenting themed radio shows and the erotic fiction enthusiast may have found her calling outside the BB compound.

Sandra was called to the challenge room to host her very own radio show titled, 50 Shades Of Sandra - but first enjoyed a very passionate public smooch-fest.

Shaking it off! Sandra shook off her wholesome reputation on Monday night's episode by writing erotic fiction and sharing a steamy kiss with Leo

Things start to heat up in the house with 50 Shades of Sandra

Kicking back in the spa, the curly-haired blonde country girl from Wagga Wagga in southern NSW was first set for a kiss with Dave - until intruder Leo stepped in.

Although Sandra told Leo, 'I just went to pash Dave romantically and prepared myself for it!' it soon became was clear she wanted to lock lips with the statuesque piece of man muscle instead.

'Ready?' she propositioned Leo after turning her sights away from Dave.

'Oh you want to make out?' he replied.

    1413243910141_wps_25_Big_Brother.jpg

Pucker up! Sandra was very forward about when it came to kissing the Canadian in the spa in front of other housemates

'There'll be no pulling away here,' Dave chimed in.

'The only thing this night needs is a little romance,' and with that, Leo and Sandra gave each other mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, complete with face-grabbing hand action.

'There you go,' Leo said after offering up his community service.

Fist-pumping the air with both hands, the Canadian beefcake strangely wiped his mouth with a towel and was on his way.

Still on cloud nine after the smooches, Sandra was then called to the challenge room to host her very own radio show titled, 50 Shades Of Sandra.

How romantic! Fist-pumping the air with both hands, the Canadian beefcake strangely wiped his mouth with a towel and was on his way

BB gave her time to write her own naughty page-turner before taking to the air to do a live reading.

Described as 'the raciest erotic fiction on radio' her book titled Going Down, is 'a love story about two strangers who meet each other in a broken-down lift.'

Clearly her throat, Sandra transformed her voice into a lowered, husky version of her own, '...the air grew tense as Hudson shifted his body and ran his manly hands down her torso to settle on her hips. Sally shivered as she realised she could feel his breath on her neck, quietly caressing her skin as he spoke...'

    1413243216646_wps_7_Big_Brother.jpg

Skye has been clear with her affections for Leo and was clearly hurt when he and Sandra kissed in the spa

Meanwhile back in the house, attention turned back to Sandra's dalliance the evening before.

Clearly shocked after being told the news of Sandra and Leo's passionate kiss, her friend was hurt.

The pair had become each other's confidantes as well as cuddle-buddies in the house, but Skye was hesitant to reveal her romantic feelings to Leo following his steamy kiss with Sandra.

'I like Leo but he's just typical muscly, good-looking guy that is used to getting girl or female attention,' she told Travis.

Elsewhere in the compound, the 'muscly' guy was perched in the tree house with Aisha, explaining his feelings for the blonde Skye, who is 10 years his junior.

Naughty girl! Still on cloud nine, Sandra was called to the challenge room to host her very own radio show titled, 50 Shades Of Sandra where she was asked to write and read erotic fiction

'If something happened between me and Skye I want it to happen organically.' he said.

He admitted to Travis and Ryan during his radio show challenge that of there was anyone in the house he would like to sleep with, it would be 20-year-old Skye.

Later that evening at bedtime, Leo climbed into with Skye.

Possibly seeing the error of his ways he tried to interrogate her feelings on the party snog.

'You’re a big boy,' she told him. 'You can decide what you want to do.'

What the actual fuck! This sucks...

http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2014/10/no-big-brother-on-friday-sunday.html

Big Brother has shrunk in the Nine schedule once again.

Despite initial plans to screen Friday night at the earlier time of 7:30pm it has now been replaced with a 1995 James Bond repeat, Goldeneye.

It is also out of schedule on Sunday night for the second week running.

Last Sunday it was out due to a double Gotham premiere. This Sunday, Nine has the 2011 filmThe Girl with Dragon Tattoo at 9:30pm.

That effectively means three days of ‘silence’ for BB fans across Friday, Saturday and Sunday for what has traditionally been a 6 nights a week show.

Last week producer Alex Mavroidakis told TV Tonight he would prefer a “consistent timeslot” and cited “too many” storylines and not enough time to tell them.

Last night the show returned to an earlier 7:30pm timeslot yet still ranked lower than the preceding Tuesday, down from 677,00 to 628,000 in Total People.

The show still ranked in the 16-39 and 18-49 year old demos with the network declaring it “Australia’s No. 1 Program” in those demos.

Just not on Fridays and Sundays, perhaps?

Still got it on 7:30 Friday on the foxtel guide. If not it will be on Go for sure, it would def rate better than the Big Bang Theory episode they played 3213 times before
