Last movie you saw

there is some originality...but not so much with the blockbuster stuff, and obviously more of it in years gone by.

Some of their more creative offerings have been based on European movies, eg "The Vanishing" was a copy of a Dutch film, "The Birdcage" (though a bit ordinary) was a copy of "La Cage au Foulles", "The Ring" was a copy of a far superior Japanese original.

:)

Into The Wild on DVD.

I really liked this film, it's about this guy who just graduated high school and is off to college and he has rich parents who want to pay for his tuition fees and buy him a car but he wants to go on an adventure instead and go live in the wild.

So he packs up and takes off without telling anyone and writes about his experiences. I initially thought oh how boring, watching some guy walk around the bush by himself, but it's more interesting than that.. He meets people along the way and it tracks back to why he hates the way society is.

It's based on a true story too, so if you have read his book you will know the ending but I hadn't and I was pleasantly surprised by the movie.

If you're talking about the remake starring Kiefer, they totally watered down the ending too. I've heard the Dutch one ends with the guy waking up in the box, then it ends.

Just returned from St Trinians
It is light. It is fluffy. If you saw the shorts, you know what to expect.
If you like Jane Austen, choose this over "the Jane Austen Book Club". It is a lot more fun to spot the references. It has Colin Firth in a wet shirt, Talulah Riley plays the new girl, there is an extremely randy Mr Darcy, and it has the next Mr Bennet in it (Stephen Fry in Jane Austen Handheld).
There is quite a lot of non-Austen related talent as well - Jodie Whittaker, who had the title role in 'Venus' for example, and Rupert Everett.
No disturbing realism (except the Hockey match.) It is sort of Benny Hill meets Harry Potter, only without the guys and the plot.
It is not all that British, either - sort of Hollywood tourist British, the sort you see in 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'.
Still, I laughed. The whole audience was laughing (not too many blokes in the audience, either.)

Ah..... But it's nothing without Flash Harry and the dopey farts from the education ministry....

What a crooked school.... I loved it in the original movies.

Not sure if the remake will be as wicked as them or not.

Flash Harry is there, and the dopey farts from the education ministry.
I am going to see the original movies as soon as I can. This movie is more naughty than wicked, and it has a Hollywood bluntness - but you can see that in the shorts.

I think you'll find the original movies were a bit more naughty in the things they suggested. "Blue Murder At St. Trinian's" for example has the girls burn down the school and face court.

One of the senior girls the ever so lovely Rosalie slips the Judge a note with her phone number and time to meet. You can work out the rest.

I watched the start of Saw III.
Started with the guy crunching his foot with a ceramic toilet cistern cover until the foot is dismembered enough to escape it's shackles, then onto the guy with rings embedded in his flesh which he proceeds to rip out to much screaming and blood and then... okay, I'm getting old and lame, and I turned it off. I can't handle that stuff anymore.

Not a fan of any of the Saw movies... Just don't like them.

Who's in it?

I'm dying to get "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster when that comes out.

Who's your avvie? looks like a long haired guy of some sort.

Angelina Jolie. It's the one about Marianne Pearl and Daniel Pearl. I really loved it and it made me sob like a baby.

The guy in my avvie? Riff Raff from the Rocky Horror Picture Show :D

Sandra Bullock - you'd expect anything with her in it to be light-weight!! :D

They're all pretty damn tame now, I expected a bit more gore from the 'Hostel' Movies too, there was really only one 'eeeewwwww' scene in the first one.

How did a spam bot get in here?

Why doesn't anyone care about Into The Wild? have people already talked about it before? I wrote this long plot and what I thought of it and not a peep!

Someone goes oh I watched this.. and people were replying, wow who was in it? tell me more!
