Danger Will Robinson, Danger!!!

'Daleks in Manhatten'

My only criticism of last night's ep, is the bodgy looking pigman masks and the bad acting by UK actors attempting American accents. I never get tired of watching the Daleks though, and enjoyed the humourous banter between Cyberman & Dalek in last seasons finale.
****************
some trivia from wiki :

When he first realises that the Daleks are present, the Doctor says, "They always survive, while I lose everything." The Daleks have survived multiple apparent extinctions, in The Daleks, The Evil of the Daleks, Remembrance of the Daleks, the Time War, "Dalek", "The Parting of the Ways" and "Doomsday".
The members of the Cult of Skaro (Daleks Caan, Jast, Sec and Thay) are the only individual Daleks ever to become recurring characters.
Dalek Caan states that "[his] planet was destroyed in a great war". In Remembrance of the Daleks, Skaro was destroyed when the Seventh Doctor used the Hand of Omega to cause Skaro's sun to go supernova. According to the Eighth Doctor novel War of the Daleks, which was published before the 2005 revival and thus the Time War story, Skaro was never destroyed (the Doctor blew up the wrong planet, which was part of a grand Dalek plan). While the canonical status of the novels is uncertain, Russell T. Davies has previously intimated that various Dalek stories take place as parts of the Time War, such as Genesis of the Daleks which he refers to as "the first strike".[3]
This is the first episode of the revived series in which Skaro is explicitly mentioned as the Dalek homeworld.
The Daleks refer to their armour as Dalekanium. This term was first used in The Dalek Invasion of Earth. The Doctor referred to it as polycarbide in both Remembrance of the Daleks (explicitly referring to the armoured shell as "bonded polycarbide") and "Doomsday".
...Hmmmmmmmmm

Information regarding the Dalek's appearance in season 4 has been revealed, along with some major guest stars.

For the first time ever, The Doctor and his new companion Donna are joined by Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graham Garden and Bill Odie as they face the combined menace of Dalek Kan and his resurrected, KITTEN KONG!

And on a more serious note, one, if not the most, popular "villians" of the new series are set to return in 2008.

One of the New Series' most popular monsters, the Ood, are scheduled to reappear in the Fourth Series, according to the Times Online and confirmed on the Official Site.

The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna (Catherine Tate) will encounter the fearsome aliens in an episode called "Planet of the Ood".

Show runner Russell T. Davies commented: "We're delighted the Ood are making a welcome return to Doctor Who. They were last seen falling into a black hole back in series two and we think it's only fair for the viewers to find out what the Ood have to say for themselves. Donna is certainly in for a shock."

According to the article, the episode will delve into the Oods' origins. No word yet on when in the series this episode occurs.

And in other interesting news, IDW, current publishers of Transformer comics have secured the rights to produce Doctor Who comics.

As a Transformer fan I can say that IDW are doing a pretty good job with the TF license so they should be a good fit for Doctor Who.

Now all IDW needs to do is secure the rights to Deaths Head from Marvel and they can recreate the Transformer/Doctor Who connection. That connection? Deaths Head was a Marvel UK character created as a robotic bounty hunter who took upon the job of hunting down Rodimus Prime. After his story arc came to an end in the Transformers comic he popped up a couple of times in the Doctor Who comics that were also run by Marvel UK.

Are people slagging off Russell T Davies already? He's fantastic. He's brought flair and pizzazz to the show.

lol Welcome to Who fandom. People were complaining about RTD before the official announcement that he'd been able to get the BBC to restart Doctor Who. Overall I have nothing but respect for the man who was able to get it back on air, but the fansites are always bitching about him and his "gay agenda."

I know about the bitchiness - I was a member of DWCA for a while, back when there wasn't a show. I could suspect there would be a backlash against a "gay agenda" - the gay elements has sparked up the show immensely. Especially that song in the last episode.

I loved the ending to the Dalek story last night
"evolution of the Daleks"

It wa great fun, and very good.

however I felt pangs of sorrow for Dalek Sec who had finally got the right
idea only to be chained up like a dog. Poor Sec.

I had a feeling the other Daleks would turn on him since their mission is
to "imagine and forsee new things"

Althought it would have totally trashed the Daleks had Sec got his plan to
work it might have been interesting seeing Daleks getting emotional.

But to be frankly honest I do have problems with what they have done to
them in the new series.

My favourite line in the whole two parter was

"I am a Dalek, and a human, a Dalek human" Just cracks me up every
time I hear it.

I wonder at the very end if they could escape via time travel why
didn't they all do that? I wonder where Kan ends up?

I thought Rodimus Prime is a good guy. Why is a bounty hunter after him?

I don't think we could cope if the Doctor met transformers LOL

I had no problem with RTD until I watched this years season. Not only has he managed to butcher the Daleks and Cybermen but the stories this year weren't too crash hot either.

Now I know he didn't write them all, but he still had a hand in things. And anyone should know, when you have history like Doctor Who, you don't screw around with well established characters/villians!

Galvatron hired him.

And i'm sure the Doctor and Transformers could work together well enough. Deaths Head was the same size as an average TF, first encounter with the Doctor saw the Doctor reduce him to human size.

Just imagine the fun had Dalek Sec got his wish.

We'd see future stories lsuch as

"Daleks In Love"

"The Emotional Dalek"

etc. hehe :)

Kylie comforts Doctor Who

KYLIE Minogue took some time out on the set of Doctor Who to comfort star David Tennant over the death of his mother from cancer.

The Aussie pop star, who is filming a Doctor Who Christmas special with Tennant, told her co-star she understood what he was going through.

“I know how you are feeling,” The Sun newspaper quoted Minogue, who had her own battle with breast cancer, as saying.

Tennant's mother Helen McDonald died earlier this month aged 67.

“Kylie was really sympathetic,” one on-set source told the newspaper.

“She knows how terrible cancer is and she took a lot of care to comfort David.

“David's mother's funeral was only a few days ago and he is understandably upset.

“He needed sympathy on his return to work - and Kylie gave him that.”

Minogue, 39, is starring as a waitress aboard the Titanic who needs rescuing by the time lord in a special episode of the cult British science-fiction series entitled Voyage of the Damned.

Now that has got to be the scariest DW alien i've ever seen.

Pales in comparrison though at the teaser by Noel Clarke that he may return next season.

Just don't tell CS otherwise he'll expect someone else to return as well. :p

Kylie certainly has been hitting the Botox.

Sad about David Tennant's mother.

I actually thought Kylie looked remarkably haggard in that picture...

hmm now who might that be burn? lol

yes quite sad about DT's mum :(

Love the promo still of Tennant and our singing budgie! Although she has been surgically enhanced several times I think our little Kylie still rates to Do The Locomotion ;) with me.

I could put quite a conga line of DW actresses together for this. Martha holding onto me with her lovely hands and Kylie behind her and.... the conga line could go on almost forever. Oh yeah, I'd put Billie Piper in the lead. So I guess that means I have to hold onto her hips.

As Kylie would say: "I should be so lucky, lucky lucky lucky...."

---------------------------

Not too happy that we lost some mighty good Daleks the other day. For me, a perfect story involves yet another miraculous escape for them, necessitating that they meet the Doctor yet again.

A one Dalek "Cult of Skaro"? I don't think so. I liked the black Dalek. Now all we have is wimpy Dalek Caan. Surely there was a way to reverse the damage to Sec - this is DW afterall and with Dalek storylines anything is possible!

Dalek Caan is not my idea of a scary cult leader. Bring back big bad black Dalek Sek now!

------------------

How on earth / Gallifrey / wherever can it be claimed that we now have only one Dalek left? Don't we have the Dalek emeror and his minions who escaped from the Game Station when Christopher Eccleston died and was replaced by David Tennant.

Is my memory playing tricks? I'm sure we can look forward to a whole lot more Daleks. Plus Davros too.

Dude, Rose wiped the Daleks from existence.

The only reason the Cult of Skaro survived was because they were in the void ship in the void removed from space and time.
