The Traitors

I actually preferred how the US version handled the secret traitor, keeping the identities of the main traitors secret from the secret one. It was genuinely a shock that they managed to banish the secret traitor, though I do wish that the other traitors hadn't just jumped on the same bandwagon and tried to target someone else.

I'm loving watching both the UK and the US seasons, but what I hate is that the episodes are a carbon copy of each other. Both the UK and the US did the cage mission with the skulls and the chariot to the castle. I know they're the same production company but put in some effort, you can still have them just not in the same order. (didn't see that thought was already mentioned)
As someone probably more interested in production than the personalities it's quite interesting seeing two versions of the same show and the slight differences in how they did the secret traitor and cage tasks slightly differently.

…I’ve just finished the end of The Traitors UK Season 2… it was good but not as great as Season 1 was… I found it a tad bit harder at first to shine towards most players but about halfway through I had finally binded with a few of them… as opposed to Season 1 where I got the outcome that I wanted… at the end of Season 2… it was the outcome that I didn’t want… oh well… you win some… you lose some I suppose?…

…what I love about the two Seasons is that it’s not repeating the same old same old… the quality of both Seasons is of the highest quality in scenes / sets / expense of production… the ‘quality at no expense’ attitude of the Producers is phenomenal… every single camera shot is pure class… I’m so loving this show!… as I said before… this is my favourite’Reality’ show now…

…I’m starting to watch Episode 1 of Season 3 of UK Traitors as I type right now… I’ve already shined towards at least 6 of them just on sight alone with the potential of liking even more as we find out about them… I already dislike at least 5 of them at first sight lol!… I think that I’m going to like this Season better than Season 2 already methinks!…

…I was a bit worried that the Production quality would go down but the quality went higher which was a great relief… I hope that it always will continue to be at this quality… it’s sad when a great show after a few Seasons goes downhill in Production values… I guess that we should enjoy it while we can eh?… what a great show… I love who dunnit murder mysteries type of shows… even though you know who the traitors are straight up… cheers.

…some things that I meant to say above… another couple of elements of the show I like… there isn’t much room for Producers to manipulate outcomes or steer things their way or produce ‘narratives’ or ‘storylines” of fake ‘showmances’ that always kills shows… so please Producers do not interfere with the genuine interactions of the players and kill a great show…

…and… the background music and singing perfectly suits each situation as they happen… so kudos to you all for that (as usually myself am the biggest whingey whiney bitch about music on shows lol!)… but not this time guys… you’re nailing it… cheers.

Last night wasn't fun. I watched episode 8 of the UK version, then made the mistake of checking what there was for the US version. Two new episodes! So yeah, two and a half hours later I could finally go to bed 🤣

I think the UK is so good because they take the carbon copy route. The US show always films first each year, then they look at how things worked and then the UK show gets slight revisions to make things a little better/cut what didn't work.

The carbon copy route also means they aren't going to run out of ideas as fast by producing two (now three because of Celebrity Traitors being such a success) completely unique shows each year.

Quite surprised the US haven't had some of the celeb missions too, although many were just rehashes of previous ones. Interesting again seeing another slight variation with the Fountain of the Faithful mission - on paper the US twist of no murder if nobody takes a shield is better but the UK format ended up being more revealing.

As for both shows - an explosive first 20 minutes of the UK show this week which then quietened down a bit. Our faithful are now beginning to rival the second Aussie season and think we're heading for a similar conclusion.

The US show is what it is - thankful the cast put basic human decency above suspicion with the latest vote. Enjoyed the input from the two Love Islanders in that round table - Rob saying what we were all thinking watching and Maura putting the final boot in.

I did love Natalie's "Stop Talking!" And then "Get to the point!" when fuckwit was rambling on in the circle of truth hahaha. And him also getting told he didn't know the meaning of the word 🤣

I only just realised that after having it bug me that I've seen Natalie in something before (I have never watched Survivor) but not being able to place it, she had been on The Amazing Race years ago. As soon as I remembered that, the memories of finding both her and her sister annoying as hell also came flooding back.

My memory, which is ironic considering the post above, is that back then they both didn't shut up. Ever. 😂

Hopefully they do the same about Colton. He is a piece of shit.

If you don't know what he did etc, google him.

…oh bloody wow!… I finished Season 3 of Uk Traitors last night and got heavily invested in the cast this time… it was a fantastic outcome that I wanted to happen… although 4 way would’ve been nicer… I’m so loving these shows… I’m now up to Episode 7 of Season 4 in UK Traitors… I can’t stand the two traitors at the moment… I hope that they both get caught big time… I’m loving Harriet… go girl… go get them!… lol!… cheers.

I finally got around to binge watching the first two AU seasons for the first time. All I can say is: wow. Did I hate them? Not really. Was I screaming at my TV and becoming unnecessarily angry while watching them? Absolutely.

I can totally forgive the lower production values and how “different” these seasons feel to what the show has become today. I think it’s important to remember that AU season 1 was the first English-speaking iteration of the show, so it makes sense that the precident of the franchise that we know today wasn’t set til the first UK season later. Roger is no Claudia nor Alan, but the tone of this version he suited it and imo improved by the end of season 2. However, I am fully expecting the production of AU season 3 to align with the current UK/US style and be very similarly produced, including the theatrics of the host (which looks to be the case, from Ten’s early Upfronts preview). So if it’s not then that’ll be a huge misstep by the team imo, especially considering how successful the overseas versions currently are.

Season 1 was an interesting watch. Between Kate, Marielle and Sandra I think they were some of the strongest players I’ve seen. Was thoroughly entertained by Teresa, while Craig’s genuine shock and emotion at the end was kinda upsetting to watch. Though I don’t blame Alex - she played a fantastic game and did what she had to do.

Season 2… I can’t even begin to describe my feelings while watching this one. No wonder it’s considered the worst/most frustrating season of The Traitors ever. I was literally screaming aloud during every single Banishment for how fucking DUMB these players were. All of them. I couldn’t believe how twisted every episode became. It was infuriating but somehow, by the halfway point, that’s actually what made it so compelling to keep watching. Extremely satisfying ending though… I loathed Sam. Honestly, he and literally everyone else who was cast (aside from maybe Abigail and Luke) were just so beyond bad at this game. I can’t believe how stupid they were. Also, who knows why Sarah was cast in the first place - the most idiotic reality TV contestant I think I’ve ever seen.

Nonetheless, glad to have caught up. I’ve now almost made my way through every English-speaking series.

Gosh I love this show, and I’m now even more excited for the revamped AU version.

…I’m now starting Episode 1 of Season 1 of the US version… God help me… are they going to be total crap I wonder?… I hate plastic people… here goes… cheers.

…oh wow!… the American version is in exactly the same Castle in Scotland…. and… a blond bimbo just said… “fact!… my great great grandfathers cousin was related to Sherlock Holmes!… um… this is going to be quite the ride methinks!… cheers.

While the latest season of the UK is already considered one of the best ever, the US series is just as elite. Both are very good.

Uncle Sticky, you might find you love Alan Cumming as the host. He puts on a whole character which I found highly entertaining. Well and truly makes up for the plastic participants. Enjoy.

How are you watching so many seasons at once and not getting confused? Hahaha

I actually love the UK traitors at the moment, but I've seen episodes 8 and 9 😜

…oh wow qtkt!… I’m so happy to see you again sweet lady… what I liked about Claudia was that in all other shows she’s on (Would I Lie To You / 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown) she is always a dipsy airhead that can’t even finish a sentence lol!… in Traitors UK she reads and plays the script with perfection… she’s perfect in the role… in the Ads for the US version shows Alan Cumming be such a ‘campy’ host… I’m really okay with ‘campiness’ (is that even a word?… lol!) but is he taking the role seriously or making fun of it?…

…a lot of the plastic people look like Ken and Barbie dolls lol!… but I won’t judge them on that… anyway… I’ll go in with an open mind regardless… I love the fact that they’re in the same Castle… I love this franchise… again… I’m so glad to see you again qtkt… cheers.
