The Traitors

Even Uncloaked got higher ratings than the I'm a Celeb final.

I think the goid thing about this series is it was reltively twist free. The Secret Traitor was enough to carry the first few episodes and then whilst we had things like the family tree and talk to the traitors the only other gameplay twist was the dagger, which didn't feel anywhere near as destructive as the Seer even if it did ultimately have the same effect on the "winner" of the power.

Like Celeb Traitors though I think having no recruits makes it feel a much purer series. It's never that satisfying when someone is recruited towards the end then is either immediately banished as a "traitor" or enters the endgame as such.

The rumours were that all the contestants in the UK version were somehow connected (hence the family tree). Were these connections ever revealed?

There was only the two that we knew - Roxy and her mum Judy and Ross and his girlfriend Ellie. Both were revealed within the main show and in episode 11 of Uncloaked we saw the eliminated contestants finding out when they left the castle.

Do you get Uncloaked on 10Play - if 10 have any sense they'll be commissioning an Aussie version to at least air on 10Play following the main show as well. Even if you don't watch each episode the finale edition is worth it.

We don’t get neither the UK or US versions of Uncloaked, unfortunately.

For UK at least, I head to BBC’s YouTube channel which uploads the Faithfuls finding out who the Traitors are, which is what I want to see most.

@Zcsund1234 do you watch The Traitors franchise? I feel like it would right up your alley.
I've seen most of S1, I did really enjoy it and I really love the continuity from other RTV franchises. i.e Sandra and Parvati/Dan and Janelle in S2 and Danielle & Britney is S3. I need to really watch them all in full. I am heavily spoiled but that won't taint my enjoyment. It is 100% on my to binge list once I catch up on the New era seasons of Survivor US in prep for S50.

uncloaked (well the reveals anyway) is available on you tube

…Qtkt… you were right… I did get to like Alan Cumming… he relishes in the role lol!… (he actually reminds me of Stephen Curry as ‘Frankenfurter’ in the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ for some reason lol!)…
Yeah. I agree with most of what you said about the contestants. Alan Cumming is the draw card for me. The way he says Trrraitors, Circle of Trrrust (he said made that up) and even doll-aaars are examples of how much he gets into it.
When Gretel Killeen is really "into" a show, she makes it her so I can't wait to see what she does with the Traitors

…I agree about Alan’s mannerisms and the way he speaks… he is so into the role… he’s great… Claudia is perfect in her role too… I can’t wait to see Gretels take on it… no doubt she will be superb….

…Qtkt… just a side note:… in one of the recent UK Seasons they had a female Vicar… I took a shine to her instantly… she was fun… I couldn’t stop thinking of you all the time she was in there… I was gutted when she went lol!… one of her comments that I remember was when she revealed that she was a Vicar and wore her collar again… someone asked her why she wanted to be on the show… she said… “everybody knows that there should always be a Vicar in any murder mystery so here I am!”… lol!…

…what I’m putting to you Qtkt… why don’t you apply for the Australian Traitors and be our secret ‘Vicar of Dibley’ on the inside lol!… it would be brilliant lol!… cheers.

…I’m now watching Season 2 of the US Traitors… I wish they wouldn’t make them stand in the Sun too long like that… most of both the males and females faces will start melting in the hot Sun… just saying… cheers.

…I’ve only just realised… whereas all the players in the UK Traitors… they are all ‘normal’ players from the public… no ‘Celebrities’… (they had a Season of their own)… but in the US Traitors they are mostly or all are from other ‘Reality’ shows… they are all so-called ‘Celebrities’… there are no ‘normal’ players only shows… maybe that’s why I’m not ‘bonding’ with the US players in the back of my mind?…

…it may be just me… but all of the people in the US version seem to always be in ‘performance’ mode… it’s more about ‘looking good on camera’ and ‘getting the most air time’ rather than concentrating on the game and playing it properly… maybe I’m being a bit harsh but that’s how I feel…

…and… I now know why I didn’t watch any Survivor US… I tried and lasted the first 4 Episodes of Season 1 but that was enough… I never watched any more… just the Aussie version only… it’s because they always seemed to be in fake ‘performance’ mode… (does that even make sense?)… US versions of shows always seem fake’ and lack sincerity to me and lack ‘oomph’ I’m sorry to say…

…because there are only 2 more Seasons of US Traitors to watch after this Season I’m going to stick with it and see them through… who knows?… I might be pleasantly surprised at one stage or another… let’s see eh?… cheers.

That's hilarious. I don't reckon I'd last five minutes. I reckon I'm pretty good at telling others how to play through the screen, but would probably stuff it up royally myself. Gee it would be fun though.

…aw hell… I’m trying so hard to embrace the US Traitors… I really really REALLY am… I’m on Episode 9 of Season 2 and because a traitor a just got caught out and left… the one traitor that has left has to recruit a new player… the traitor while doing the recruiting was sooooooo hamming it up… the traitor was doing such bad acting that it was cringeworthy… I couldn’t stop giggling like a demented schoolgirl because it was that bad… but that’s the trouble with this US Traitors… such bad ‘acting’ from nearly ALL of them… they’re all ‘performing’ in front of the cameras instead of just being themselves and it annoys me so bad…

…compare that to the UK Traitors… ALL of them are their natural selves… they aren’t ‘actors’… they are what they are… all you see are their natural reactions as they happen… and THAT’S the difference between the two… I ‘trust’ the reactions from the UK players… I don’t from the US players… it may seem silly but that’s the way I feel…with the US Traitors I don’t give a shit who wins… with the UK players I really feel the pains when certain people get voted out or the happiness on who finally wins… (at least if it’s who I want to win… lol!)…

…anyway… I’m still so determined to see the US Traitors through all the seasons until the end regardless no matter if I’m liking it or not… I wish that the Irish version was available… that would be sensational I bet… on TenPlay… there are a New Zealand version… an Australian version… even an Indian version lol!… (hopefully it’s in English… it has to be doesn’t it?)… that’s a helluva lot of Traitors more to watch… you beauty!… but!… to get the US version out of the way first… lol!… cheers.

…and... something I forgot to say in the post above… I’m soooooooo sick and tired of the way that they ‘trash talk’ each other in the US Traitors… it’s personal and spiteful all the time… maybe the UK Traitors are more well mannered because of their ‘Englishness’ but they don’t get nasty with each other… it’s purely that they are trying to ferret out the traitors and play the game without nastiness and not trying to disparage other people to belittle them just for the sake of the cameras and ratings… cheers.

I think I was lucky I watched the us seasons 1- 3 then uk seasons 1-3 so I got to see how much better it could be, not how much worse it could be! (I have watched season 4uk, watching season 4 US, and watched the celebrity uk one) Apart from the survivors I don't know most of the "celebs" because I don't watch real housewives or a lot of the shows they are on. I think peacock who makes the traitors is the maker of the real housewife franchise, Keeping up with the kardashians and vanderpump rules, so they thrive in the manufactured over the top drama that people like you and I would normally avoid in our reality tv viewing by the sounds of it. It is annoying with the Traitors because the concept of the show has promise, and I watch social deduction games on you tube, but the faithful being able to deduce who are traitors, and/or the traitors being successful in their deception is what make it a fun watch for me. To this end I am also finding there is a lot of game design flaws in the traitors . I think there needs to be some mechanisms in place to help the faithfuls at the beginning - eg two people start knowing they are faithfuls.

Not exactly correct. The Traitors US is actually produced by Studio Lambert, which is the same company that makes the UK version.

Peacock has nothing to do with the Kardashians. E produced the original 20-season run of KUTWK, and Hulu owns and produces the current series. Both shows are now owned by Disney (and stream on Disney+ in most countries).

The Real Housewives and Vanderpump are both Bravo shows that just happen to stream on Peacock a day after their network broadcast, because it’s a subsidiary of NBCUniversal.

Similarly, The Traitors is only available to watch on Peacock in the US, the same way Paramount+ streams the franchise here in Australia. It’s not made by them.

oh oops sorry I didn't do proper research on that. Thanks for the correction :)

It just comes down to the different types of people cast on the shows then really doesn't it? It will be interesting to see the non celeb version of us Traitors to see if it is more like UK or the US version we have had so far.
