Really disappointing to see this. I’m all for a new generation of crew getting opportunities to step up and train into new roles and productions, but as others have already said there’s a level of expertise required for shows like this that should be taught and trained under professionals for years first.

We now have a glimpse at the team behind the live shows, some of the publicity and social media team and now some of the house/Control Room team. It’s clear the majority of the crew are not seasoned production personnel. The proof is in the product we received over the last month - you could already tell that the show was being curated by young and/or inexperienced staff, even before we saw the people behind it. You can now understand why it felt so amateur at times.

P.S. There’s also a video of them all clapping and cheering in the Control Room as the Finale went to air, and it sounds like they all start singing the “right foot back, left foot back, it’s the Grand BB Hotel” chant together…🥴

Alongside Georgia, one of the other directors appears to be Kristina Moschella (pictured in my earlier post) who has worked with Seven prior to this.

An upside… at least there seems to be a prominence of females working behind-the-scenes. That’s a plus, regardless of age, when you compare it to the OG crews.

Some more pics of the Control Room team:

Which of these so-called directors is responsible for Mel having NFI what was going on during the live shows? Because they should consider a new career.
I should add that you should probably cross Air Traffic Controller off your list as well.

I do not recognise a soul from the 9 era apart from 2 people, Pete and one of the girls. Not to say they didn't work on it, but most look too young to have been working on a show 11 years ago.

That would be because they didn’t. Of all the people I’ve come across on Instagram, most of them are aged in their early 20s, with some in their very early 30s.

This also brings it back to potentially being a cost issue and the budget of the show not permitting more skilled personnel, which in turn affects the quality of the show.

I would of thought for BB it would of being the best of the best. I don't mean to tear these people down but it's clear by the show this season they aren't up to it. They need an experienced team for such a job

Let's just pray that a bigger budget will allow some of those past crew to chime in and steer it in the right direction.

I'm semi-hopeful they'll review this series and tweak things here and there, which is what happened with the initial Ten run, but a part of me deep down believes this is what we'll get from now on, which really saddens me.

I'd prefer seasoned professionals and, better, original team members from the OG era ...

However, it's that old adage ... how do you get experience if nobody gives you a shot at it? What I see in those photos is a mix of young (getting experience) and older (probably with good experience). So I kind of get it. That said, for a "complicated" show like BB, it makes more sense, I think, to just go with experienced people wherever you can, rather than trying to "blood" some new people.

Crews on such shows will often be young which is fine for entry level jobs and even their first position in a more senior role. The question is who are the decision makers as that is where any blame likely lies, not with the live set crew or social media team.

I suppose these young directors could have been directing the live stream, not the actual shows. We'll never know without a full list of credits. But it's easy to believe that inexperienced people were running the live shows because of all the terrible choices made, cutting to different cameras at the wrong moment, Mel not getting clear timing directions on "It's time to go ... ... ... ... It's time to go ...XXXX!". It was like amateur hour compared to seasons past. I'd even take Alex Mav back as EP after this train wreck of a season. Something I thought I'd never say.

Same. If Kris Noble wants to resurface I’d accept his take on the show again. They had their issues but I think we can all agree they produced much better seasons than this.
I stumbled across a news article describing how Kris Noble wanted to "freshen the format of Big Brother up". Maybe it could do with another spruce up.
