…um… this is how I see it… no matter how shit this show was tonight for a lot of people (I quite enjoyed it to be honest)… at least Big Brother is back… no matter how bad… IT IS BACK… I don’t remember a season of Big Brother (regardless of which Channel it’s on) where we haven’t crucified it… (Sonia Kruger is allowed to be crucified I grant you that) or picked shit out of all housemates or the house itself… but it is our criticism that keeps the show alive… if there was no anger or criticism at all the TV Channels wouldn’t even bother to revive it so keep ranting about it no matter if it’s to praise it or condemn it… just as long as we keep it… go forth and rant fellow rantees!… the show needs it… but as I said… no matter how bad it may have or have not been tonight… at least it’s back… cheers.

Too right mr sticky! It wasn’t perfect but I did still somewhat enjoy it. And thank fuck we have live feeds. We’re being critical because we know the potential this show can reach, but we may have to accept that this is the standard for BB now

Again the reason I'm so critical is the show has soooo much potential and having experienced such rubbish versions 9 and 7 and a 17 year wait for a promise to return it to what it was, I am allowed to be disappointed and wanting more. I want bb to work and having such a promising build up I'm just left disappointed

I'm glad it's back, but let's also be real - this is its last chance in Australia. There aren't any networks left for it to bounce to. They need to get it right.

I came in with a lot of goodwill and I'm willing to be patient for them to find it right, but the average Australian won't.

I will try to channel your and bleachy’s positivity! Right up until 2014 I felt any bb was better than no bb but then I watched it die in front of my eyes. Repeatedly. I am rooting for them and really want to see it improve! I have (some) faith!

Overall, this series is still better than 7, but I'm not gonna lie - I preferred 7's BB as a character than this 'mo we're getting.

If Nine's era had live streaming, those seasons could've easily been some of the best ever - especially 2012 and 2013.

Let's be honest, the og format we were promised was a lie. It was just to get us interested.

The references to "OG format" was about going back to live evictions, live nominations and the show being set at Dreamworld. Those where the three things Mel mentioned time after time when she was asked about that during promo interviews.

This notion some seem to have that the show should simply be a carbon copy of how it was between 2001 and 2007 whilst ignoring we live in a completely different world since BB's original iteration is absurd.
