Possible house location?

The real test is whether they actually learn from their mistakes and improve on them or whether they double down on them moving forward. 7’s biggest mistake was thinking they could pre-record and ITV’s has been capping the show at six weeks. Neither have really made any attempt to address them… and before anyone says anything ITV adding an extra week for 2025 is as much of a joke as 7’s tinkering with their core format.
Honestly, this 👆

The most recent promo gave something interesting away, saying "live from dreamworld" which we all know it's back at dreamworld. It just makes me think that the house will be located in the heart of dreamworld where the audience can go right up next to the house to create the "live" excitement of people being in the house right there near them. Instead of the house being so far away you can't get to it or see it, I feel this time around they want it in the heart of dreamworld to create that extra fan excitement
Just a theory

You realize every season that’s been filmed at Dreamworld has always been “live from Dreamworld on the Gold Coast” right?

That's not how it use to be done here at BBBA.
I mean sure, we’re undoubtedly the shows harshest critics but let’s be honest I’ve been a member here since 2004 and I don’t think we’ve ever had a series with this much promise. Your critique is noted and welcome however I do have to agree that you could probably benefit from a bit of optimism.

I get it. I'm not one for change. I mean I hated what 7 did to the show - I think pretty much everyone here agrees. If I were a producer would this be where I'd put the house? Probably not. Even I'll admit it is a strange spot to put it given the isolation aspect of the format. Like others have said, 10 have given this reboot a lot of promise and they actually seem interested in getting feedback in the run up to it starting. Let's hope they're listening. Will it be a copy and paste of years gone by? Absolutely not - some people have become, shall we say, a little too sensitive to some aspects that the show relied on for entertainment value. But lets see what they come up with. If it's decent and the show is popular I think that paves the way for an even better season next year. I'll be the first to put my hand up and say ITV have ruined their rebooted UK version, but that's just my opinion.

That being said, the house bang center in the middle of the park? Interesting choice for sure.

I think this house was a compromise borne out of the hold back delay. Maybe wishful thinking that a more substantial one will be constructed for a full length season in 2026. Have to wait and see I guess. Could all depend on how the show rates.

The deal with 10 is at minimum 2 years

It's going to be a production nightmare trying to make this show so close to the noise of 1) roller coaster. 2) a public car park. 3) general theme park and water park noise.

All roller-coaster that are in operation during the season are on the other side of the park. And as an hearing-impaired person, I might not be the best judge for it, but I think the area next to the Gold Coaster (which is closed down) might be the most quiet area besides the wildlife area... especially with the King Claw not being open yet either.

Most rides in the direct neighbourhood are pretty tame except for the Tail Spin, if you figure out how to do the loops.. but the ones focused on the loops are usually not screaming like crazy either but keep focused.

but this existing structure route will be cheaper than building a new compound and running services and utilities to it
Maybe this. Possibly to see how it will go, which would explain the 4 week season too. To see how well it would run, before committing more money/time next year maybe?

I find it hard to believe they’d “test run” a show that they went all in for 24 years ago when it was an untested format in the Australian market. The writing had been on the wall since this revival was announced and they’d be complete idiots second guessing how successful this series is going to be. It’s more like the 4 week series is a victim of unfortunate circumstance than a let’s see if this still works 💁🏼‍♂️

There were some people who expected ITV to move to a permanent building and had similar reasonings with test runs etc, yet, they just moved to another studio because it was probably more convenient and cheaper for them. Same will go for 10 and Dreamworld... If the studio-type setting works for them in regards to noise, space, filming, house tours afterwards, etc. and if they won't need the space for other projects, there isn't really an incentive for them to move into a purpose-built house.

You're probably not wrong. In retrospect I don't really understand why they didn't just use an existing/purpose built structure from the get-go. This would just eliminate any plans for add-ons or expansions -- a house next door, an in-ground pool, games arena, animal pens, etc. These add-ons are probably a thing of the past anyway.

I have a feeling we will be seeing a raised pool this season, or a "hot tub" ala 7 style if the backyard isn't built as a permanent structure.

Hard to say TBH. Even if this house is less permanent/custom built it’s still going to be used as an attraction in the off-season so it’s not like everything is getting packed away reassembled for each series like the BBUK house is.
