BBAU 2025: Casting open, return to Dreamworld Confirmed

I've never understood the point of geoblocking, there's obviously a reason behind it, but wouldn't a TV network WANT the exposure and to open their content to a much larger audience?
They only buy the rights to air shows within Australia (or whatever country they're in).

I have Kodi on my Android box and one of my apps give me access to Samsung TV + and Pluto TV with hundreds of FAST channels. On one of them (can't remember which) it has channels for BBUS: a split screen four-camera feed and four individual feeds. I wonder if we'll get this from Channel 10. I hope they don't paywall it because free FAST streams that are easily accessible like this would be great. I'd leave it running on my TV all day.

Pluto TV US has them. The German one has a Big Brother Classics channel, currently showing the second season.

You can watch the Samsung TV+ and Pluto FAST channels outside of their home countries because both platforms don’t geo-restrict the channel feeds themselves, the restrictions happen within the apps (or on TV) themselves. That’s why your Kodi add-on can just take the link and provide the channel for you.

Not 100% sure but I think the FAST channels on 10 are geo-blocked even on the stream level… which wouldn’t help you with watching it via Kodi.

Does anyone know how public voting will work? Vote to evict, vote to keep, or both?

Vote to evict - least hated HM wins
Vote to keep - most loved HM wins

Trust me, there is a difference.

I didn't even think there'd be a question about this these days.

BB got rid of vote to evict. It's not such a nice thing to be doing these days i thought. 'Hmmm.. who can we target to kick out?' Is there anywhere in the world that still uses the system? I thought everything is just about voting for your fave. Plus Gretel used to go on her spiels about dont vote out the big characters. Well there you go, get rid of vote to evict and you pretty much solve that.

When they say it's a return to og big brother I feel theyre referring to things like the format (no more survivor in a house , eg channel 7) and location and not voting systems. Plus I think Australian shows have even moved on from the 1902 and sms voting, so no more big bills. It's all free calls (but limited) and online voting these days, I think?

The problem for me is 10play is pretty well geoblocked but I've had a couple of tips on VPNs I'll check out closer to launch. None of the ones I've used previously have ever worked for 10, and I tried five or six of the big ones over the years.
with the latest updates they have done hopefully you may have more luck. I have been able to watch Survivor au vs the world.

That is 100% my problem. But we'll see if I can find a VPN that works. Was interesting to see the US ones on Pluto though.

Using a VPN? DM me if you want.

With and without Torguard VPN (on laptop):

Also tried connecting VPN to NZ same result.

The UK went back to vote to evict for their civilian version (but still has vote to save for the celebrity editions).

I might be in the minority but if you cast well and trust your own format, you don’t have to be afraid of vote to evict and losing a major character. It gives others a chance to shine.

Does it though? You can't polish a turd.
That's why I said that you need to cast well. If you only have three housemates that carry the storylines, you'd probably don't want to lose them. But otherwise, I think so, yes.

It certainly worked out in the early Noughties.. The show even survived losing couples and was able to carry on just fine. I don't think you'll find an early series that lost steam and thus viewers after one of the major characters got evicted. Most prominent example might be the first US season where people citing viewers evicting the interesting people and keeping the nice ones as the major issue... but even in this case, it's hard to argue that the voting pattern hurt the show in the ratings. The only considerable ratings drops occurred when Survivor finished and didn't act as a lead-in anymore. But otherwise: Their first eviction was two weeks in and by that time, the show had reached its baseline in the ratings.

Another question is how will nominations work? I liked where they had 5 points to divide between 2 people as they saw fit. I'd also like the addition the HMs being able to decide whether nomination points are to keep or evict someone. They could mix it up however they liked but it must be for 2 people. For instance, 3 points to save someone and 2 points to evict someone.
