BBAU 2025: Casting open, return to Dreamworld Confirmed

It’s not Australian, if that’s what you thought. It’s almost definitely from a foreign (likely European) programme. It might not even be from a Big Brother series. Although I highly suspect it is, or a similar RTV counterpart.

Gets pretty heated towards the end though.
Noo I didn't think it was. Wasn't sure though.

It does, still hot to watch haha. I love it how the other guy is sleeping the whole time, as if. Loving every minute.

It gets shared as "Big Brother" but there are other videos where the titles claim that they are from Big Brother, when they are not. A famous example would be Eric in the hot tub on De Gouden Kooi, which is often labeled as Big Brother.

I've tried to find out which show it might come from. But I haven't had any success. I'd rule out Big Brother because of this:

IDK I didn’t watch the whole video but it doesn’t look to me like it’s consensual.
I just can't see this footage existing after the Carlota incident in Spain.

But even besides that... I haven't found any footage from European Big Brothers that would match the wallpapers. And while I don't know all the other reality shows in Europe that have live feeds, I'd rule out Valo VIlag, Utopia, Een Jaar von Je Leven and De Bondgenoten. So it's either a lesser known show or just some spy cam stuff that got labelled as Big Brother. What I think is the original video doesn't have any reality show attached to its title.

For Big Brother, generally speaking, I don't think there have been a lot of gay relationships around the world and thus, there weren't really a lot of chances of men getting intimate anyways. But there was one Finish season where two guys got close in the hot tub only to be interrupted by another guy who's been jealous. They didn't form a relationship though and one of them regretted it a bit.

Sorry to deviate but back to BBAU2025, something that has come to my attention that I didn't even think of is that Gogglebox is returning Thursday August 28th, and due to it now airing solely on ten at on Thursdays 7:30PM it is now impossible for it air alongside BB. If gogglebox is to run 10 episodes until October 30th that completly rulls out BB launching prior to November. It was already confirmed before but this to me makes it all the more absolute that we are dealing with a 4 week season.

A shame actually it ends beforehand as BB is good content for them and it's good exposure for BB. I'm sure it's aired at 8.40pm and think Ten often does better then than at 7.30pm so it could work for them, although if they do two evictions a week Thursdays might be eviction nights too.

I do think with it being just 4 weeks and 10News+ not looking like it's long for this world there is a high chance BB may be given a 7pm slot for the daily shows then 7.30pm for Noms/Evictions, especially if the latter are both twice a week.

I think it's pretty certain now that BB will take over the 7pm slot with Millionaire Hot Seat being rushed into production it likely means it will form a quiz show hour with Deal or No Deal 6-7 pm.

Is this another sign that BB was pushed back due to the holdback?

I get the feeling that live nominations will just be a daily show with a live element not actually a separate show. I don’t think it makes sense to have a separate show for such a short run. There’s just not enough content to cover 2 minute shows per week.

Yes, I agree with 4 weeks, there's just not enough time. I hope OG fans aren't disappointed, in a sense that for them to be showing all of the OG seasons, to then broadcast a 4 week stint doesn't sit well with me.

In saying that, maybe the purpose of this whole livestreaming of the OG seasons is to wear us out 😂

But 4 weeks compared to a 40 hour non-stop marathon would definitely keep us wanting more.

Sorry, I've gone back and forth with myself here like I always do 😂

Made sense to my undiagnosed ADHD brain 💁🏼‍♂️. They’ve been pretty generous with clips of the older seasons on TikTok so one can hope that will drive viewers to the live feeds. That’s really where the meat and potatoes are going to be for this series for the online fanbase. The casuals I don’t think will care as long as they can build some sense of atmosphere and stakes over the run.

I saw a rough post of the BB audition ad with the VO from Mike Goldman, were they using the 03 theme in the background?

Someone filmed it on their phone and it's a little hard to hear.

As far as I am aware the plan was always for Gogglebox to air Thursdays at 7:30PM, and this is the standard Q3 run where gogglebox airs its 2nd series of the year. I can't believe I failed to take it into account when trying to predict when BB would air. But @Brekkie is also right in saying that it would be great for BB to air whilst the goggleboxers are on as it would drive in eye balls. It could work at 8:40 on a thursday after BB, it will be interesting to see how the 2026 schedule looks.

They apparently wanted a female host for Millionaire, would be crazy if Gretel hosted.
I think Gretel would be a really good fit for Millionaire.

They are making a big deal of "live nominations" so suspect they'll milk it into a separate show, especially as we're not likely to get to the point with 6 or fewer nominating so they'll always fill at least an hour.

Then again they also said it'll be back "bigger" than ever before then commissioned it for 4 weeks so who knows.

If we’d had a 10+ week series I’d say 100% but having watched a few nominations shows from the 2003 stream I feel like two of these shows per week is a tall ask.

I'm so looking forward to this series - Do you guys reckon there might be a possibility for the show to run outside on the ratings window? You know, to get more weeks in?

I was hoping so, but the job ads imply it'll end first week of December.
