Big Brother back in 2025 on 10! AND LIVE!

After reading about the rumours of Jonathan LaPaglia allegedly being 'axed' as host from Survivor I am now really questioning a lot of the decision making by TEN. I would imagine JLP's axing is budget based, so it makes me question if BB was always going to be super short regardless of the holdback? Are TEN really this poor? Maybe I'm better off dissconecting from the Reality TV world before I get further dissappointed 😭

Does it stop with JLP? Could they be axing Survivor to make for a better go at BB in 2026?
Survivor is returning in 2026, with a new EP as well as new host who is rumoured to be David Genat from Champions vs Contenders 2019, All Stars 2020 (Winner) and will also be on Australia v The World which will now presumably being JLP's last Survivor Au season.

If 10 can’t afford to give their shows what they deserve why bother? Where’s Paramount Global in all of this? Starting to think they’re only holding on to 10 until the Skydance merger closes.

No JLP, no point. Surely they'd axe I'm a Celeb or Amazing Race first.

As Survivor and Big Brother are now both under the same ownership (Banijay) wonder if Ten did a deal for both and are having to cut costs on Survivor to make the BB deal work. Cutting g costs cuts value though and I've no doubt anything saved by axing JLP would be more than lost through less revenue as a result of lower ratings.

Dreamworld still haven't made an announcement and I haven't seen anything on their socials about it, apart from the $99 annual pass. I hope they post something today, saying tomorrow all will be revealed. It could also just be wishful thinking.

But even if we start seeing the merge from 7 to 10 on the BB socials. I just hope tomorrow is the day we start to see SOMETHING, I'm going insane 🫠

I wondered the same thing, I felt it was silly to think so but even looking at I’m a celeb being scaled back to pre-recorded says a lot as well. MasterChef will inevitably be scaled back as well in years to come.

BBAU costs around $20mil for the rights alone? TEN have possibly bit off a bit more than they can chew with big brother. A lot of the news surrounding TEN in the last few months has been really worrying.

You must be available for approx. 4-5 weeks for the shoot. At this stage, shooting will commence approx early November 2025.

Filming Dates
If you are selected to be a contestant on the show you will need to commit to 4-5 consecutive weeks of filming in the Big Brother house during the period on or around November/December 2025.

Short Series confirmed then.

I really think they may be testing the waters at Ten, people will see the OG format back and FINGERS CROSSED viewers will demand a longer series and Ten will (hopefully) have the show slated for a longer 2026 series.

This actually looks so good and so do the visuals for BB… I don’t understand how a network that seems to be doing a lot of the necessary “talk” isn’t walking the “walk”. Like two steps forward and what seems like 50 back 💁🏼‍♂️

ETA: I’m not here as someone who really understands Australian TV (My understanding of BB is something totally different) but it seems to me what 10 has been missing is that “wow” factor and I think if they can get BB right some of that could come back. Which in turn could help other shows…

Also where the fuck is Paramount Global in all of this? Australian Survivor might be what it is in Australia but I guarantee it’s still pulling numbers for them on Paramount+ in the US. I don’t watch myself but literally every Survivor fan I know raves about it. As for BB, stateside it’s honestly what’s keeping BB alive… Not really sure what content they have in Australia but I can imagine putting the live feeds on there could help it pick up some speed. At very least heavily inflate 10’s streaming numbers.

I do believe in some respect that BB returning will draw in a potentially large amount of viewers.

I was going through some old YouTube videos of past series and the comments were mostly saying that they miss that version of BB, before it became Love Island in a house. The same is seen on the official BB Instagram, a lot of people saying that the 7 version was just BS and they should bring the original back.

I also believe 10 know how to promote BB, I was watching old promos for the 10 era and I was like damn they hype shit up well.

Also - The music in the rebrand reel had that similar orchestral hit (I think that's the term) BB used to have, nice.

This is why I’m asking where Paramount Global is? If they’re hard up for money why isn’t Paramount stepping up? Especially with Australian Survivor being as big of a hit for them as is it.

BB is slightly different as for some silly reason it’s still a major faux pas for BB to air internationally but the fact that it has so much potential in Australia justifies it. Most of the hate I see is simply that they won’t be able to pull off a “back to basics” series in 2025 and if that’s it all they have to do is prove them wrong 💁🏼‍♂️. ITV proved the formula works, 10 can build on that and do it even better… Just like they did the first time.

Even BBUS (which is another Paramount property) has improved by taking on the “back to basics”/“old school” ethos. Until last year I could barely muster the energy to make it through the premiere let alone stick with it well in to the season… So it’s not like they can even claim the “ITV” formula is untested. Just like the original series of course there was some risk but launching in 2001 they knew they had a winning format.

🤦‍♂️ Really disappointing. They better make those 4 weeks count, or what’s the point? Even the UK gets at least 41/42 days. What are we going to have? 30?

Something doesn't feel right at 10.

Yeah I don't understand the whole "At this stage..." and "on or around..." it's almost as if nothing has been locked in yet.
