THE VIRUS 2020 - the good, the bad, and the ugly

Interesting post Dystopia. I think Trump has said irresponsible things during the pandemic but I don't think that validates the argument that another President would have managed the virus better in relation to infections. Is there anyone who wouldn't have difficulty leading a country as complex as the US at this time?

I do believe that freedoms are more important to many Americans than health is. Leaders can try but public cooperation is a very important factor too. Does anyone believe that people in Middle America would be more cooperative overall if Obama was President now?
I am yet to read the next few pages, but...
I agree the US is very complex but Trump is so very particularly divisive. So yes, I think a different president would have had more success. Maybe not HEAPS AND HEAPS. But more. They would almost certainly have had a more cohesive approach.

I don't think another President would have said the irresponsible things that Trump has said but that's the only thing I'm pretty confident of if Hillary was leading during this time instead.

I'm not sure about policy though. What does Biden actually want to do about the pandemic if he is elected?

I think she's doing a great job. So far. Sometimes I worry if she might be too trigger happy in response to coronavirus, but then I remember you can't be too careful.
The woman appears to be an idiot and only has HER future in her microscopic view (like many Premiers and Chief Ministers in Australia...the power has gone to their heads)...but if you concur with her, that is your prerogative. As I've already said, she appears to have a very insular view of things (upcoming election?) and also seems to completely lack empathy...all for the greater good of Queensland? Please spare me that claptrap...it's all for the good of Annastacia, imo.

What would you have her do?

Yes, for one, but also being a bit more sympathetic to people in border communities. You can't lock them out because of geographical boundaries...people rely on facilities that may not be in the State they live in.

Losing an argument? Oh nooo, that would be awful.

If you take Daniel Andrews to task for his failures, then it would be hypocritical of you not to do the same to Trump.
There is no logic in this. Why single out Trump? Why not include the leaders of Italy, Spain, Germany, Sweden and others who have all mismanaged the pandemic at some stage? ...and what about Bojo whom you socialists all hate?
(I should know better than to expect reason from the Left)

Speculation based on a Trump-hostile media. The one who started the division was Obama and now under the Trump administration, the MSM continues and feeds that division. There is absolutely nothing cohesive about the Liberals.

As much as I dislike that lipstick-centric robot, I can't imagine that she is the only one to blame for this neglect of the border communities. It just seems to me that there is lack of communication from both sides... the politicians who are responsible for those affected keep complaining AFTER restrictions have been put in place instead of sitting down together to figure out where and what exemptions have to be made.
It's the 'learn on the job' phenomenon all over again lol.

Trump also almost always disregards expertise from his advisors. I don’t think another president would do that.
