THE COUCH - TV Chat Thread

I don't mind these couples, apart from Dave who is a dickhead, and Craig who drove away from the honeymoon.
Michael seems genuine, I hope Bella can accept the situation with his kid. It's probably not the fact that he has one, but that he concealed it for so long.

It was obvious from the weddings, that the production searched for a jono-type guy,
they found dave, then they made sure he will be coupled with someone who wont
mesh with him so they can be sure to get another "jono-clare" this season.
Dave said jess wasnt his type, the same as Jono, right on the wedding when they saw the bride.

It was a shame Nicole didn't stay around during the heated discussion during last night's episode. Yes Keller said something to Bella he shouldn't have but the comments back to him were just as bad, and he was the one big enough to apologise. I would have been uncomfortable with all the when did you do it questions too. Not everyone wants to discuss that, and there was no respect of that.

And for a guy that jilted his wife because she lacked confidence in a bathing suit, like most women do dickhead, Dave seemed to look very unsure of himself that whole dinner party. Jess came across amazingly. Very eloquent regarding the fact it was the twat way to treat a person, not that he wasn't attracted to her.

Dinner was entertaining, the radio woman is a bitch, stop pushing people nasty cow caused all of that, i think she fancies the Tats more her rough kind of style???I think she & tats would suit each other actually, and her hubbie & tats look so similar anyway.

That ugly prick Dave is it?, he is hideous and thinks he is god's gift, far out how many creeps have you met just like him?
And the lady, is gorgeous and fun and classy - she is way too good for that bore.

I hope Nic can forgive Keller. He has a good heart, he just lacks social finesse. I find it quite endearing that a young guy considers the feelings of others and doesn't equate everything to sex. Bella might have Sex-And-The-City type conversations with her girlfriends, but there are times when you have to respect the boundaries of the group.

Jess is actually really lovely, I'm impressed with her.

It's couples like Dave and Jess that lead me to think some of the marriages are selected for failure rather than success. Dave clearly wants some bimbo who won't realise what a shallow and cowardly prick he is, so why is he matched with anyone?

@Isee i've been watching the good life. i quite enjoy it so far. interesting seeing how they cope in terms of finances.

i wants a relationship like the Goodes.

Barbra Goode is a intresting character. Felicity Kendall plays her like she is just about to have a giggling fit on the floor.

Yes I think many people watch it and think life goal! I know we want to be a lot more self sufficient

Richard Briers and Felicity Kendall hated each other in real life.

Apparently Spelling Bee has been moved to Eleven. I missed it last week, I just thought it wasn't on.
Can't stand it myself, but I record it for my mum.

Review: "Finding Prince Charming" (aka gay bachelor)

the show is as awful as its name. It really is unwatchable.
a low budget remake of Bachelor, with the bachelor constantly referred
to as "Prince Charming" and roses replaced by black ties.

Heard they are trying again to do a local Judge Judy - previous attempts failed when nobody wanted to go all american and air their dirty laundry in public. That was then, now we have so many scummy RTV people hanging around it might happen, so, how to scam RTV>>>

These Guys Made Up a Fake Case to Get on 'Judge Judy'
Back in 2010, there was an amazing Judge Judy segment that featured four people in a dispute over some smashed TVs and a dead cat. You may have seen a clip of it called "Best Judge Judy ending EVER!!!!!" (It's embedded above.)

The story was completely made up—invented by four roommates in order to get a free trip to LA and some cash out of the Judge Judy producers.

The story they invented was, basically, that a guy called Jonathan had gotten wasted at the house of a girl named Kate and smashed two TVs that she owned. One of the TVs, she said, landed on her pet cat, Trips, killing it. You can see the full segment here.

Why?????
For the money & a free holiday:)

So, they all got free flights, hotels, and made $1,500 to have some fun - all housemates. JJ pays all the settlements, you can't lose.

Read the story and see clips here -

Review: "Australia's Cheapest Weddings"

We are introduced to a mixed bag of couples with different reasons to
save on a wedding. The "cost cutting" measures to save for and on the weddings
vary from rational d-i-y's to the totally absurd.
In the end, love prevails as feel good factor ensures the low budget weddings
actually go through. Would you really want this issue to be your 15 min of fame?
Some emotional sad stories are mixed with comedic moments, with happy endings,
for a tv wedding cake experience that neither tastes excellent nor has totally flopped.
score: 3/5

I read a thing once where they reckon expensive weddings relate to a higher rate of divorce. I personally think marriage is a sham. Which kind of contradicts my claims of being a romantic in a way. Or maybe it doesn't.

I agree I dont think the bigger/expensive the wedding the better.
Weddings are romantic if youre romantic and see them as romantic.
many people just see it as "making it official" + "party".
