These aren't mine obviously, but let me know if you want me to post one of these every day or if they're annoying...

Clara's finished all her shopping but she cannot believe her eyes,
I don't think she was expecting to receive this Christmas surprise!

I like the character, the idea, of River Song, but I think I just dislike the actress.

That last episode, in the castle with the Tesla Prestige machine, is the first I haven't really liked this season. Moffat was trying to be great instead of being great, as he can do at his best (as noted in that Peter Jackson video.)

This season has really reminded me of the old John Pertwee and Tom Baker episodes. I love that children across the world are cowering behind the sofa at Dr Who still.

I'd love an episode or two-parter where a lot of past characters come back, just like in the Tenant days.

It all changed when Matt Smith joined. River Song was the only link between the two eras.

...I so agree with this... and not just from the modern era of Doctor Who either... seeing Sarah Jane Smith from the old series was such a buzz for me... as was seeing Tom Baker as the 'Caretaker' a while back... even seeing ex companions from years gone by such as Frazer Hines as Jamie/Louise Jameson as Leela/Janet Fielding as Tegan or perhaps even Sarah Sutton as Nyssa... what my #1 wish would be is that I'd love for Carole Anne Ford to come back as Susan... that really would make my century that would... anyhow... they are my hopes and wishes for the future lol!... cheers.

Captain Jack being a companion to Peter Capaldi would be interesting considering what they have both been through.

...what a great concept... the dynamics between those two would be amazing to watch wouldn't it ?... with River Song I think that when she sees him as an 'old man' that she probably won't want to 'consummate' their marriage eh?... lol!... if she tried to kiss him he would probably just say..."sorry... I'm not the touchy feeley" type... I don't do hugs!"... or words similar methinks... cheers.

...I love these images too... I sure wish that I was there in Sydney Harbour when the first photo was taken... I would've be in fandom heaven... cheers.

I bloody love River Song. LOVE.

She's smart, sassy, beautiful and unlike other companions who are - at least sometimes - fawning, over-impressed fangirls, River is a peer of the Doctor who loves him because she wants to, rather than because the Doctor is the only awesome person she knows or because he provides an elite life of otherwise unattainable adventure. River creates her own adventures, she is her own woman, she doesn't need the Doctor like the others do. She's awesome.

Which I think creates a problem with a lot of fans, because she is over-familiar (understandably because she has known him very well from the moment he met her, what with their timelines travelling in different directions) and is on the same or similar level as the Doctor.
I can see why a lot of fans don't like that.
And some fans just don't like Alex Kingston, well there's no accounting for taste, lol.

Her introductory episodes, the Library two-parter, are among my favourite storylines, such a clever concept, so I've loved River from the start. I could have lived without them getting married, I prefer my DW sans romance, but as that ship has well and truly sailed, I can tolerate it because I don't see their relationship having the power imbalance that the Doctor's other 'romances' have had.

And I can't wait to see the dynamics between River and Capaldi's Doctor. Gonna be fun for sure.

Well said @nutmeg
I love River Song too, but it doesn't upset me when people don't, in the same way that there's no harm in having your favourite Doctors. It's a testament to this wonderful show that even the incarnation I'd rate the lowest is still bloody brilliant. River is a bit like a female Doctor, and people do seem to either love her or hate her. Missy doesn't seem to be as divisive, but perhaps she will after a few more returns...
