TBL Families

I have to agree. I've watched a ton of biggest loser and it feels like the Jofre's totally played the TBL casting team. They all had excellent conditioning pretty much from the get-go

The contestants have a month of training etc before filming. (but that's a secret)

I had a friend who was a cameraman on the earlier series. (2006 till 2009)

Saw a preview of tonights episode on couch time on channel 11. Can they get any more melodramatic? This is the first time a red team member may go home and they make it out like it is the end of the world. Mel and Cliff have had 3 go home.

So is the weigh in done a month before? Is that why they lose so much the first week? Or is it just part of their medical movement and fitness tests so they can learn the basics like squats?

They lose so much because they water load before going into the house.

Also their week can be 2 - 3 weeks.

The trainers only turn up for filming. The trainers DON'T give a shit about them.

The training the contestants do, it really bad for their bodies, they do too much in a short amount of time & they will in the near future have knee problems etc.

Oh, don't say that about Shannon :( I think he has a real connection with Mel now. The way he hugged her when she lost the weight was a proper full on hug.
I had heard about the 2-3 weeks thing before

Well so it looke like cliff and Tony either will win the challenge. And the winner gets to eliminate a contestant! If Tony wins cliff is gone, if cliff wins anyone of the jofres are going.

Johnee and Tenealle bitching about Mel choosing Moses. Suck it, hypocrites! You too had a chance to get rid of a Jofre and you didn't.
Mel is adorable coming out of her shell talking with them. She's not a threat to win, but her socialisation is something she didn't have outside the house. It's just as important to her self-esteem that she have that confidence and that will keep her going outside the house.

Plus I can't stand Johnee.

I will break this to you gently.

The trainer who trains the winner, gets a $$$ bonus.

After the show is over, the contestants never hear from the trainers again.

The contestants learn more etc when they get booted out & do proper training etc. (heaps of them, have to be retrained on how to exercise correctly (I would be mute if etc wasn't in the dictionary)

The contestants aren't given enough calories per day for the amount of training they do.

It seems we're supposed to think Mel is a fool for not breaking up the Jofres, but I think it's sweet that she values her friendship with Pablo more than playing the game.

I was watching the Jofres do squats and I was horrified. Their knees were all over the place.

I didn't like the way Tenealle spoke about her and she ate the food, whereas Mel didn't even go for it. I hope Cliff wins and does get rid of a Jofre. I can't see Michelle being a gracious loser either if one of them goes. She's not coming across as a particularly nice person these days in the media from what I gather.

I bet that Lara Whalan heard from Shannan again ;)

OK, Im done with this show after tonight. Eliminating someone because you won temptation is just wrong. What kind of message is that sending, that even though you lost enough weight to be above the yellow line you still get sent home. This show used to be about helping people lose weight, get healthy and turn their lives around and now it's turned into a joke, all in the name of ratings. What's the point in watching anyway since the end result is already known, it's obvious that one of the red team members will win, just like they win everything on this season, how boring and predictable.

I agree (well apart from being done with the show, I still want to see Mel do as well as she can).
Tonight's power was ridiculous and played right into Tony's hands. It makes no sense to invent a power and hand it to someone simply because they won a game of chance in a temptation. It's cruel for the eliminated contestant and incredibly unsatisfying for us as viewers.

Tony was also incredibly smug and condescending in grilling the others over whether they deserved to stay or not. Not to mention hypocritical, as he said he made his decision based on the two who promised to help his family, which was bullshit as Cliff was one of them who did that.

I kept waiting for Cliff to leave and get stopped by Fiona to tell him he was getting one on one training and hadn't left the house at all. That sucked. At this stage it has always been if you put the work in and are above the yellow line then you're safe and deserve to be there. Not because someone is threatened. I agree with @sav0001 , it takes away completely from the whole point of the show.
The families concept has been very bad in this regard.

Let's not forget though that in past series even when the show was at its prime they still eliminate contestants mid week. In series 2 Munnalita eliminated P'eta. In series 3 the blue team Lost the challenge thus they selected Sean to be eliminated. In series 4 Megahan went on the walk and her prize was to eliminate someone so she eliminated Sharif, then in the same series Nathen got eliminated and chose Bob to leave with him, then in series 5 Joe was eliminated by default somehow or something. I never watched series 5 but I know he was eliminated in some way other then voting. Then in series 6 the Westrens won the challenge so they got to choose one contestant from th Moons to be eliminated, they chose Jodie. Then just last year I think Kerry chose to eliminate Matt. Also lets not forget every year they do the super challenge where someone gets eliminated;

Series 2: Damien
Series 3: Michelle
Series 4: Megahan
Series 6: Sharlene
Series 7: Graham
Series 9: Big Kev and Caitlin

So almost every year they have eliminated contestants mid series. And the eliminated contetsnts are coming back for makeovers next week.
