The Bachelor Australia 2015

I heard someone describe Sarah as perfect wife material because she looks pretty and doesn't say much. Now I'm sure as a female I'm meant to be offended by this but it's quite accurate. But maybe Sam is too bland himself and would prefer an outgoing headstrong woman to complement him.
after StepfordWife Louise won over the Snake post-show it begs the question ... is that what "real men" want? the meek little housewife?

BTW I don't for one minute think Sarah IS that person ... she has a reserve about her - and isn't wanting to bare her soul on national TV and I think that's fair enough ... unfortunately its made it difficult for us to see the "connection" because others have been much more obvious about it

I read somewhere that Sarah said they edited out a lot of the fun between her and Sam and made her look boring. Can't remember if that was from a trashy mag though.

Has The Bachelor blown his budget? Sam Wood treats his final four ladies to VERY inexpensive dates with only a stroll in the rain and dismal fishing trip on offer

The Bachelor Australia has long been known for its flashy displays and taste for anything luxurious as it tries to impress the contestants enough to fall hopelessly in love.

But this year Sam Wood appears to be bucking the trend and has favoured much more low key dates - particularly when compared to his glitz and glamour loving predecessor, Blake Garvey.

On Wednesday night's instalment, none of the five - now four - remaining girls where treated to anything remotely extravagant.

Blown the budget? Sam Wood treated his finalists to very inexpensive dates on Wednesday night's episode

Rod and reel fishing by the water's edge followed by a takeaway box of fish and chips was all that was afforded for Nina, who was swiftly given the boot at the end of the episode.

But it didn't get much better for his favourites either with Snezana's very simple stroll through the rain making Heather's lunch and a beer at a roadside skiff club look positively high class.

A visit to the local driving range meanwhile, was all Sam could muster up for late-coming frontrunner Lana, and Sarah was only lucky enough to get a cheese platter and the usual chat on the couch.

While this week's episode has been particularly low budget, it follows on from a series of dates lacking the same star factor of previous series.

Only one helicopter ride has been rolled out this year after Blake enjoyed two as well as tandem loop-de-loop planes during his time.

Sam has favoured relatively inexpensive barnyard and beach side dates, with one of the most extravagant offerings being on the disaster-ridden groundhog day singles when a limo ride came complete with a flat tire in need of changing.

When Blake tried to pull a similar stunt on Laurina, giving her a bowling date with a 'dirty street pie' for dinner, she was up in arms - so much so another contestant imitated her saying: 'Where's my helicopter and diamonds?'

Disappointed: When he famously tried something more low key on Laurina she lamented her lack of diamonds in favour of a 'dirty street pie'

So... going by the sneak peeks they've posted so far, Sam's hug with Lana seems pretty ordinary, you can definitely see more of his closeness with Sarah and Snez in their hugs. Looking forward to seeing the preview with Heather.

That's the face of a man not to be fucked with!

I think this is the guy Heather takes him home to ... there was something about him being her mentor.
I think he'd be super-protective and he's not going to take any shit from Sam - and he's going to expect to get answers.

and I think he's in the country so there's plenty of wide open spaces to bury the evidence if he's not hearing what he wants to hear ;)

I have to sit this one out tonight, but I've got it recording and since I'm stuck at work I may as well lurk in the thread anyway.

I wanna watch :frown:

I think sweet Sarah :angelic: is the type of person to tell someone if she has a problem with them. But she wouldn't be like yelling at them for like half an hour, nor would she be passively aggressively ignoring them in the hope that they would get the message. I think she would tell the other person in such a way that an outside observer would not be aware she had a problem at all.

Heather's hometown sneak peek is up... and how bipolar is the editing/story right now, Sam seems sweet on Heather again, their body language is so much better than last night's episode.

  • t_morrie@heather_maltman maltimus you are my hero! You legend. Umm so the 'beach house' kind of just looks like the house next door to the Bach house ?! Am I right!? #budgetcuts@rosiewaterland for real, it's legit the house next door!!!!! #thebachelorau we sooooo got ripped off this year! Lol
  • jasmin__brownHaha I thought the same thing. That was no beach house and looked like it was down the road from ours
  • t_morrie@jasmin__brown I know I was like ummmm wait a minute! Producers would be like bahahaha you thought you were going somewhere but your not cause we are on a budget of $10 a day. Suckers
  • campharrietsquidLold hard at the "beach house". Bachie season 3 has been the season of sitting on couches eating sponsored cheese and drinking mid range wine the girls deserve some jet planes and the Hunter valley!!
  • t_morrie@campharrietsquid I know it's soooo funny! Let's eat in the dark that will cost legit NOTHING! Let's make a picnic in the park - park meaning the backyard of the mansion. Hahaha
  • campharrietsquidAll the budget must have gone towards the bachelorette promo ad
  • atisor.alexopoulos@t_morrie the producers are so pathetic...didnt think that people will ever find out. What are we FOOLS! Lol.
  • jazzbabe31@t_morrie man I'm pissed you left so early! You're seriously hilarious, would've loved to see more of your awesome personality come out on the show! #budgetbachie for sure!
  • rachaaelstarr@andrewrushton beach house is next door

I am in NZ so just watching last nights episode now. It is really hard to read Sam and where his heart lies at the moment but I think Lana will be top two with either Snez or Sarah. I think Heather will go next....I am team Snez though but just not sure the logistics of her living in WA and having a daughter will work. Hopefully things will be clearer after tonights episode...

The budget cuts are pretty funny really, but I don't think it's a bad thing. I have no idea of Sam's exact financial situation but surely this is a more realistic insight for both him and the girls on what life might be like post show. As if all the fanfare with Blake matched reality.

I know on Farmer Wants a Wife some of the group dates were paid for by the farmer or at least reflective of what they would be able to reasonably afford and I think that's better for a more genuine experience. That show has a really great track record for lasting relationships. But then so does Bachie here I guess even with overseas glamorous trips.
