RANT!

They are "coming soon" and have been for ages, but still nothing definite.
Well good luck to all the SA folk, I hope aldi rocks up there sooner rather than later.

Today I had to stop in at maccas to use the toilet. When I walked in to the bathroom there was a lady washing her hands, after I had finished I walked out and saw that she has left a tap running... Full blast. I have a terrible time with remembering faces, but if I knew which old overweight hag it was I would have had some very stern words with her.
Disgusting...

Aldi has a weird smell that is common to all of the stores. Would make sense I suppose.

...does it smell German?... lol!... that's where they originated from...

Hehe, look what delight awaits you. A tip,I buy their tissues as they are cheap and I've been told they're Kleenex.

...shopping at Aldi saves you heaps of money... after all Coles and Woolies are slowly getting rid of my favourite things and are systematically replacing them with their own brands which don't taste as good as what they've replaced... (has anyone else noticed that?)... once they've completely replaced all products with their own versions you watch them hike the prices up so that you have no choice but to pay more for them... take a tip from uncle Sticky... it's better to get used to the taste of Aldi products now so you pay less for everything that you like later on down the track lol!... cheers.

Both Woolworths and Coles have hardly any frozen roo meat for my dog - Like I go there to buy at least 14 days worth and they only have enough for 5-7 days and I buy everything that is left!

Woolworths asked me to do an online survey to go in the draw for a $100 voucher - and I told them what I thought! It is almost like they stack the shelves so you HAVE to return sooner rather than later ........

In my experience Foodland don't have very good raw meat. We used to buy fresh meat and mince it for the cats, freezing it for the rest of the week. Too many times it went grey the next day, so we switched to Coles.

In Mt Eliza, Mum and Dad prefer IGA's fruit and vegetables but Woolies meat. Fish is always bought from the local fishmonger. Aldi for them is bad for greengrocery items and meat.
Yep I sometimes get some veggies like broccoli or spinach but I leave mostly fresh stuff to other places.
I do like aldi for junk like chocolate and crisps etc.

I don't like that I'm forced to go in the one direction at the start lol its too controlling!

Omg Aldi chocolate is way too good. Their chocolate mint biscuit things are like my heaven.

I love aldi! Their pasta says from Italy. Unlike the woolie/ Coles ones where made from China. And it's cheaper from aldi. Their spreads are pretty good. Love the American style peanut butter and jams. Their butterscotch biscuits, choc chip cookies, yum! The washing detergent is great too. Honestly do most of my grocery shopping at aldi.

My vegetables and sometimes meat I order from Aussie farmers direct. Otherwise I use the local butcher. I love my local butcher, he will cut my meat the way I like, the sausages are tastier from him than any supermarket, he will even mince any meat I want.

...yes you have to put a $2 coin in a slot in the trolley handle and it undoes a key like thing on a chain... when you unpacked the groceries you have to take the trolley back to the bay to get your $2 back... a very clever idea really because it ensures that the trolleys don't end up a few Kilometres from the store because everyone hates paying $2 for nothing lol!... this is what they look like... cheers.

local Woolies made big annoucement they were changing trollies over and they were going to need a $2 coin to release them ... then they handed out special token to use - one that could be on keychain ... regular customers I guess were given them ... then the trolleys never appeared. I think they got so many people complaining about it that they nixxed the idea for that particular store.

Now my local Coles has those half trolley (shallow basket at higher level - for smaller shops that require more than the little plastic basket) that DO need a $2 coin and the big ones that don't ... so I race in last night ... no baskets available ... only doing small grab of stuff so go to get half trolley ... OH FUCK ... $2 coin needed ... so i had a very empty large trolley ...

probably should go hunting for that Woolies token thing and try it on the Coles and Aldi trolleys ...

went into Aldis at local mall when it first opened ... was so hard finding anything I needed because no familiar labels at all ... everything was sourced overseas ... layout was a mess ... piles of crap here and there ... totally incongruous things ... it just annoyed me ... if I had more time to spare to wander around and get familiar and knew it would be the same layout each time I'd be happier to go there

Guess I should give it another go sometime ... but I'll have to change my parking place in the mall ... won't be in the food hall section to easily grab other stuff I need ... I'm starting to sound very whingey and making excuses NOT to shop there ... haha!! I WILL try it out ... someday ...

Yes Crimmy if you are OCD and like structure it is a complete nightmare....it took me a bit of getting used to, particularly when they have K-Mart or Big Wish items smack bang in the middle with no order or format.

Still my love of bargains won in the end!

did you HAVE to tell me this? really!?!! shame on you ... and you too Sweetgeek - you should know better!!! lol

have 6 bars of Whittakers chocolate just brought back from NZ when I was over there
their new (to me at least) "Artisan collection"
the Marlborough Sea Salt and Peanut Brittle one was WONDERFUL so I went back and bought some of the others ... have only tried one piece .. ok TWO since husband didn't feel like a piece ... it was already broken off ... what's a crimmy to do?? everyone knows you cannot put a broken piece of choccie back in the pack ... it messes with the flavour and the calories ... everyone knows this - i'm not telling you anything new here ..

anyway so I tried the Nelson Pear and Manuka Honey variety last night ... not as wonderful as the Marlborough Sea Salt & Peanut Brittle ... but still very edible ;)

its not that I have OCD its just I like to spend as little time as possible in a stupidmarket ... I want to rush in, grab what I need, head to the checkout and depart ... I don't want to clock up 10000 steps trying to find the things on my list (if I had a list) (which I often don't) (ok so I usually don't) ...
and if I want camping gear or white goods or power tools - I'm not buying it at a supermarket - what's their refund policy/warranty going to be - ship it back to Germany at your expense?

yep .. making excuses again ...

I WILL try it ... someday ...

can I just say their current ads which have people trying to convince other people why they should shop there doesn't quite get there ... in fact they simply reinforce all the negative idea people already have and put them out there again for other people to consider ...

Drool... they look/sound so good. If chocolate didn't exist I would have such a super hot body, it's the one thing I can never give up haha. I don't shop at Aldi for normal grocery stuff, I find it confusing and it doesn't taste as nice (personally) but the chocolates are definitely a winner!
