Is that Eddie Maguire quiz show always so blatantly rigged?
A woman was about to lock in her answer, and with a few seconds to go Maguire hooted "HAVE ANOTHER THINK!", so she changed it to the correct one.

Not unless Eddie started coughing.

I read that in Eddie's voice ha ha.

So lets talk about those Emmy noms shall we?

Well lets do the good first....

YASSSS.....

Finally Tatiana has been recongnised for her work on orphan black, fucking hope she wins.

Now the bad...

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? Why no love for the leads of the Americans or for my man Mr Mandy Patinkin. That scene from last season of Homeland where Saul is trapped in a town in Pakistan on the phone to Carrie is mind blowing. Saul goes from wanting to end his life to trying to save himself from the bad guys, then carrier realises that she can't get Saul out so she lead him into the enemy. The acting from Mandy in that episode is on a whole other level.... Seriously fuck that dude from dumb and dumber. S3 of The Newsroom was garbage..... And screw Kevin Spacey, last season of HOC was worse than under the dome....

Oh well, I can't stay angry for long.... at least Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn both got noms for Bloodline.

Yeah glad Tatiana got one, I wonder if it was for season 2 or 3. Eva Green regularly knocks it out of the park in Penny Dreadful, but I think like Tatiana it's another case of Minor Show Syndrome.

Does anyone here watch "the weekly with Charlie Pickering" ??

It's funny how in a sitcom I basically don't notice the canned laughter, but on this show it's so jarring and OTT.

I haven't been watching the Weekly, but I have noticed the same thing on other live-audience ABC shows. There's a particular (and slightly unconvincing) woman's laugh you can often hear in it, so they must just keep using the same tapes. Whenever I hear it, it kind of takes me out of the show.

Yeah it's weird. Just play the natural laughs if the live audience. Otherwise might as well not have them there at all.

Definately recommend it (ABC2 8.40pm from next Monday) - the penultimate episode aired here last night and it's just brilliant. Most shows just save their big moments until the last few minutes but this often takes you by surprise in the first few minutes.

I gave Lip Synch Battle 1 minute before screaming mercy. I have low standards and a high pain threshold for bad TV, but it's awful.

Yes, it's fine as a segment on a chat show (and they can get bigger names doing it that way) but as a show in it's own right it's awful - basically what Youtubers were doing a decade ago.

Been watching a bit of MASH recently. Love that show. Perfect mix of humor and drama. While they all enjoyed some laughs the characters never forgot the hell-hole they were stuck in. Doctors, nurses, and soldiers working side by side trying their best to help keep soldiers from all sides of the conflict alive and in good health.

I think that is the synopsis of every episode, maybe with a feather boa and communal shower scene hijinx.
