...I totally agree... the way that I look at is... Meglos and Nutmegs reviews have had us celebrating that anniversary since they both began them way before any special anniversaries... the fact that this entire website was down doesn't take anything away from that having happened... all of us combined have kept the Doctor Who spirit alive by constantly coming in and discussing all things Dr who... this thread is very rarely at the bottom of the main page because nobody is posting here... it is always up the top somewhere...
...we don't make big hurrah's or have heated discussions or outright arguements within this thread because we all really do appreciate the show that is Dr Who... we all have a collective love of the series... that is why I love this particular thread more than anything else... I've been to other Dr Who related websites and all there is over there are people squabbling and arguing in very hostile environments... I detest going to them... we may not be many people in this thread but I learn more from this thread about the ins-and-out of Dr Who than I do on any other related websites...
...I myself... when I get a sniff of what's coming up in the new episodes and new characters that will be coming in the future... I go into Sherlock Holmes mode (as do the rest of you) and track down related stories of it... I learn heaps of things from doing just that and love sharing it with you guys... I wouldn't even bother to do any of that on other websites... they would just shit on you for doing it and there is always somebody that hates that you did it before them and stole their thunder!... it's happened to me on a couple of occasions and I thought 'stuff that!'... on here you all really appreciate the time that I've taken to track these things down (as you also do for others too)... and that is a really great feeling when that happens...
...as I've said... (unfortunately in a very long-winded way for you all)... we may have missed the anniversary but we've more than made up for it before and after it with our constant contributions to this thread lol!... we may be few but we really are all so dedicated in our own ways methinks... (sorry that I've written a short novel here folks!... lol!)... I love all of my fellow Behind Big Brother Whovians... I really do!... keep up the good work and dedication peoples so that this great thread continues to thrive forever... thank god that Tim continues to keep this website alive... The Twelfth Doctor and Clara will be staying all series. Missy will definitely return at some point.
Episode 1, written by Steven Moffat, is called The Magician's Apprentice.
Episodes 3 and 4 form a two-parter, written by Toby Whithouse, directed by Daniel O'Hara and with a large guest cast listed here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho. It's apparently a rather spooky story with heavy Russian theming (including a Russian church and military base).
Catherine Tregenna has written a story for the series. Mark Gatiss probably has too, given that he apparently wrote two for Series 8 and only one of them was used.
Hettie Macdonald (director of Blink) is directing, too -- likely the next block of episodes to be filmed.
And finally, there'll likely be filming in Spain.

...oh wow...that all looks so awesome!... what about Paul Kaye being in a punk band and singing like a demented Dalek lol!... hilarious!... it all may be in production now but I'm sure as hell hoping that we don't have to wait too long until they start rolling the first few episodes out though... and let's pray that the ABC do those early morning pre-screenings again... they were truley special occasions... here's hoping on my part anyway... thanks for the info tickytoc... you're a legend my friend... cheers.

That is all incredible info. It makes sense we had to share the reels around the country, for the era, but it sounds mad. It does show how easy it would have been to go missing, and as Meglos says to pop up just when we thought they were lost for good.
Well, Happy 50th anniversary to us.
And can't wait for the new season. Looking forward to 51.

I love Colin. He's so dramatic. And I love his pomposity.
And the only time I ever get to use the word pomposity is when I'm talking about Colin's Doctor, so I love him for that too.
There's other good episodes, but I really like Trial of a Time Lord.
...Colin Baker's Doctor always seemed to me that he was about to snap any second and start killing people in a total frenzy lol!... he used to creep me out but I really did like him too... lol!... cheers.

I hate to let down the sisterhood, but kinda agree. Although I'm sure I could be persuaded otherwise with the right casting. And they NEVER get the Doctor's casting wrong.
...how good an interview was that?... thanks for putting that up nutmeg... I hadn't seen that before... I have to agree with him about it in certain aspects in regards to The Doctor becoming a female... just add a female Time Lord... (Time Lady?)... to the storyline rather than turn him into a female... it's already been done with 'The Master' as of just recently... (although if they do make him female I will be alright with it and will accept it)...
...this might sound kind of corny but when I was 10 years old when Doctor Who first ever hit the screens... as with millions of other young boys... I obviously wanted to be The Doctor... not in my wildest dreams and imaginations would I have ever thought that The Doctor could become a woman!... my dad and The Doctor sort of encapsulated everything that represented being a real man to me at the time and as I got older... in a weird sort of way I aspired to be as bold and adventurous as The Doctor... to turn him into a female now would take some of that away for me personally... it would be akin to my dad having a sex change... (not that there's anything wrong with that of course)...
...I know now that all of these years later things have changed in Doctor Who to such vast extremities but I really would prefer to them to leave him as he is to be honest... I know that it all sounds a tad bit old and fuddy duddyish on my part but that's how I feel... (if it's not broken then don't change it type of thing)...
...if they did change The Doctor into a woman I would love to see Joanna Lumley or Miranda Hart or even Jo Brand do it... it would be unreal... but it wouldn't be the same for me personally...
