David Appreciation Thread

Merlin and that funny surfy bloke paul must've overshadowed my memory of wes, but he was blonde and Dave is a bruno with blue eyes (cutest combo) will find doppleganger thread

Often have Amy winehouse hair so get Ronnie Spector sometimes - ta, it's cool to hear a new one :)

If it would keep Dave in the house I would do Movember - this Sicilian sister could grow one in a fortnight, if nature were to take own course!

He does look like him...but as I've posted in the Doppelganger thread...I think he looks more like Wes Bentley. If I were to have posted one for you in there...going off memory since I don't currently have a pic to compare...I would say you look a bit like Sherilyn Fenn.

Bhushan didn't lay into David as he SHOULD HAVE for the bloody useless dick that he is purely because out of respect for David's FATHER. As I told enough before it happened that David's dad was a mess and Bhushan didn't feel right slamming his son in front of an elder and was doing his best to not disrespect him.

This might be a case of opening up old wounds and I will delete this post if people feel it has the potential to cause unwanted drama, but for now here is the follow-up to Bhushan's respect for David's father. I feel like people have the right to know:

I liked Paul too. HE called a spade a spade a shovel AND a "the bloody thing you dig with, idiot"...lol

Ah Elijah Wood eyes, yes! Have fancied him since that 90s thriller The Good Son with Macauley Culkin.

I also like that while have seen Dave in the gym area, haven't noticed footage of him actually working out, or talking about the gym once. Did he not also vote for Dion once for talking about Cross Fit too much?

His arms look like he has lifted some weights but he still looks normal and has a nice feeling belly. Prefer when their stomach isn't like sitting on a bag of rocks.

haha yes even David has said people have told him that he looks like Toby Maquire. He used to be told years ago he looked like Frodo, probably those big blue eyes lol
A member here who auditioned with David had mentioned about a Toby Maquire lookalike before the season had started, and later posted that he was happy to see David made it onto BB because they had gotten along so well.

I guess with David working in healthcare knows the importance of keeping things sterile. I think that David and Skye do get along ok at times, that's why he helped her clean up without making a fuss.

Dion is obsessed with the training and cross fit because he's a gym junkie, and has been posting on instagram about it, he likes to participate in triathlons, cross etc, and has that rad pad business http://www.radpads.com.au/

I guess David and others didn't like feeling lectured on working out and calories etc and just wanted to do it at their own leisure

Ha my bro is a gym junkie, best way to rile them up is hide protein powder.

Ah so it was Dave included in te group who was over all the X fit talk then, excellent.

I saw a facebook posts at the beginning of the season from Paul who had given Dave the thumbs up. I wasn't a big fan of Paul's back in the day. I thought he was an aggressor but in terms of his honesty and non censorship I can see why he might have been rooting for our boy.

Did Strategy Dad say whether or not they had to 'practise' their nominations for BB or anything like that, @BigSisterEm ? I was just wondering if their reasons had to be approved (in case they were giving away too much outside information), or whether they had specific guidelines to follow...?

He really did great, and I take my hat off to all of the friends/loved-ones who go on to do this. I'd be a wreck lol. :)

I always want to know what goes on behind the scenes so I appreciate this question :)
Yes, they did have to tell Alex and co who they were going to nominate for and for what reason. Dad wasn't fed any lines or told not to say x and y - other than obvious things, like football scores etc
They also weren't allowed to discuss with the other Loved Ones who they were voting for. I know Dad didn't talk to anyone about his, nor did anyone tell him theirs but in truth there would have been nothing stopping one Loved One wording up another Loved One on who they are voting for. In the case of Loved Ones - Big Brother is not always watching!
When I heard Dad's reason for nominating Leo I did wonder how that got passed but it was kind of cute so perhaps they let it slide. For the record, we all like Leo, he's just collateral damage at this end of the game.

Yeah I think Strategy Dad was playing up on Leo eating so much because that what's been said in the house, and when he hated on the maggi noodles etc, and your dad also made that joke about him trying to lose weight (we read about it in David's letter home) so realise Leo was nom'd because we need him up this week.
David only nominated Leo once for 1 point because he thought they both would be around similar numbers, which was true because Leo wasn't up, and David was only up for eviction because of Skye's superpower.
I guess since we heard Priya and Skye get punished and given 3 points each, that the loved one were aware as well before they nom'd?

That makes a lot of sense - they would have to give Alex and co some idea of what they are planning to say, and I also imagine the process itself helps them all to get clearer for when the 'real deal' happens (iron out the nerves etc).

Yeah, I figured Leo (and/or Lina) would be collateral damage for a few of them, it just makes sense this late in the game. The food thing was quite funny, and much better than some of the reasons. Haha. Thanks for the insight, Em - much appreciated! :)
