As for David, he looked like a complete arsehole.

The imagery of Her SUBMERGED in water, clearly unhappy at "THE BOYS" taking a "joke" WAY too FAR, and David STANDING and LAUGHING in her FACE as he cheered on the others exclaiming "DEFENCE!" was AWFUL and UNCOMFORTABLE.

His ABSOLUTE RELUCTANCE to claim ANY ownership over his actions and then BEGRUDGINGLY APOLOGISING to Priyanka was just the nail in THAT coffin.

And don't get me STARTED on his HORRENDOUS ATTEMPT to DEFLECT his WRONGDOING and cite AUSTRALIAN CULTURE as the reason Priyanka felt GANGED UP ON. Yes people who have known each other for YEARS may act like this, but FRIENDS know when the JOKE is OVER and WHEN TO STOP.

David and THE BOYS just kept PUSHING and PUSHING.

Don't BOTHER replying, I don't need a lesson on AUSTRALIAN CULTURE from you either.

I don't think he meant it like "you're wrong, you don't understand Aussie culture" at all. In the context it was spoken I think he wanted to make sure she knew that in Australian culture it's common practice to "rib" your friends. He wasn't calling her ignorant of Australian ways...just making sure she was aware of that so she knew he was just joking around with her because they're friends. It was certainly an awkward point to bring up, and most people wouldn't, but David and awkward are well acquainted.

No way he should have said anything about culture at all. With how politically correct you need to be these days you should just stay clear of stuff like that all together because people will jump on it. David is notorious for saying stupid things that get him into trouble, but he certainly wasn't being racist or trying to accuse Priya or being ignorant of Aussie culture. If he were Priya would have made something out of it and there's no way they would have been hugging the following day.

She gets the occasional comment, but nowhere near as often as David, who's now having to suck up to the intruders because he's been unable to develop any real connection with the other housemates.

It has nothing to do with culture, it's that David has poor social skills and is unable to see (or, more likely, doesn't care) when someone is uncomfortable. Which is an important part of being social - watching the way people react so that if you're making them uncomfortable you can jump on it immediately and correct the situation.
It was a shitty situation to put her in, and it was his responsibility to diffuse it because he'd made it impossible for her to do it herself.
When you're having DEFENCE DEFENCE chanted at you, there's NOTHING you can say without them chanting it louder like "haaa you're proving our point."

You can't really defend a bloke with saying "jokes just don't translate well" when the bloke himself acts like he's from another fuckin planet.

I appreciate you asking but honestly I prefer to say nothing about it at this point. They seem to have sorted it out and moved beyond it so I'm going to follow their lead. I've been a fan of both since day 1 so I'm just happy that it appears to be done and dusted.

Generally agree with this, and thought it interesting when later at the table Priya kind of belittled David by waving her finger at him, and you could see how much he hated it on his face when he told her not to. Sorta hypocritical in a sense.

I like David when he's in the diary room, but reckon he bites his tongue a lot in the house - he comes across as abrasive and inappropriate at times. Wonder just how bad the uncensored David is.

Priya could kill 20 babies with a knife and you would still have your hand up her ass. It doesn't worry me any reasonable person knows she was out of line and should have been pulled up on her stupidity
 
Gees, just catching up. Ups and downs and I've only watched 10 minutes!

First, they were taking the piss about falling asleep, it wasn't meant to be a mean thing. Obviously they expected her to play along but it was a sensitive issue and just hit the wrong notes for her. She felt cornered and I can understand why she'd want them to stop.
Couldn't believe some of the HATE I was reading though to be honest. So Dave joked around and made a comment? I agreed with him when he said that sometimes with women it's better to just shutup and let them tear shreds off you . That's not misogynistic, it's fucking true! I wish men would do it more tbh!
When Priya was talking about him to the girls though she misrepresented the story and said that he said 'I don't always have to look around if a woman talks to me'. This wasn't what he said at all! One thing to tell a story girl but keep it real like I've come to expect from you. I think in this moment she was being Strategy Priya and planting seeds.

I did however LOVE how she pulled David aside in the kitchen and explained exactly how it made her feel. That's the type of articulate communication I love about her. I personally felt on one hand she was making a big deal over not much but at the same time I could totally understand her not being cool with people having a laugh at what she felt was her expense, and especially the new guys who don't know her yet to be having jokes like that. David did acknowledge that it had upset her, which obviously he didn't mean to do. From this conversation it sounds like they have MANY conversations about the way they react to things and I actually like that they can tell each other when they think the other is being a knob. They'll be fine I think. I could see both sides.

Now to watch the rest lol
 
Still don't get the deal with the snake. There must have been some point of showing it. Is the snake going to be the new Surly or something?

Tom is a tryhard. Dick thinks he's it and a bit. Penny plays the dumbass better than Skype does. Don't mind Lina though. Should have been an original.
