David Appreciation Thread

David is fucking himself over badly tonight. I genuinely do think he just saw it as a joke but a lot won't see it that way.

He had another classic Dave foot in mouth moment for sure.

I know what you mean and I almost had to look at away. What happened in the pool with Priya was not great and she had every right to feel uncomfortable. I was happy seeing that was prior to the eviction, then once Marina was evicted they showed David comforting Priya so at least it wasn't an on going issue. Or so the edit would allow! It's nice to see Lina making an effort in finding out what has made him develop a thick skin based on her observations so far. The best bit though, was THE SHAVE! (hey @twinsmum I see you what you did there girl!:))

Didn't I or didn't I tell ya Priya was gunning for your boy? :whistling:

Don't even sweat it, I'm reasonably confident the majority of the 'voting public' will side with David on their little 'disagreement'.

Prior to today's ep Prizus wasn't even that popular evidenced by her low percentage from last night. Well after today's little stunt Prizus the one with a huge stick up her arse will be lucky to score into double figures next week.

Prizus has dug her own grave and there's a strong possibility she will be the hm will the least amount of votes. Serves her right for being such a stuck up humourless bitch. :giggle:

Ok, so David has an issue with saying whatever is on his mind, but I take this flaw as a strength too. Because how else would we truly gain an insight about someone, not only that but at times he will express exactly what some of us are thinking and hit the mark too. Example, telling Skye that Leo's tongue is not down his throat hahahaha... best comeback of the night!

I understood how Priya would feel and I thought it was great she spoke up for herself, but I don't think David deserved the malicious comments from people, because he was not being malicious. He said to bb the other day how he would love people to talk to in the house. So lets focus on that for a second. He clearly feels like he doesn't have a good bond in the house with anyone and it is him and the house. So he got a little excited at having some companionship and people who don't question every move or word he says. Do you know how much weight that would take off your shoulders? A great deal! For once he feels he can be who he is without thinking he will be judged. The incident in the pool was just a case of things that went too far without real realization of what was happening imo. So once Priya explained herself he spoke to the rest of them. HE SPOKE TO THEM! That tells me that he wanted to make sure that there was no misunderstanding that this was a gang up of any sort, he was remorseful. I do wish he just said sorry and the others too and left it, but thinking about it, it's human nature to go on the defensive about it, especially when you know what happened wasn't your intent to begin with. No excuses regardless, because I do believe the person that feels uncomfortable should be the one acknowledged at the end of the day and you should put your own feeling aside for such things, but my point is that David is a good person and like grown adults they resolved the matter. The end!

My issue now is that David will be made to get a bad edit from all this when really these things happen everyday and are so quickly misinterpreted. He has always been the leftover for hms and I can understand wanting some appreciation for who you are rather than disapproval for what you do and say.

I personally think it was an overreaction from Priya. But hey that's up to her. She felt what she felt. What I find funny is she was talking like it was mostly an issue that the other guys joined if and yet she initially targeted Dave. Dave started it all as a joke I feel but he didn't ask them to join in. He didn't ask Tom to comment. And in fact he said that whole thing about letting the women tear shreds because it's the best thing and I thought that was him trying to stop the scenario. He apologised to Priya and even helped her talk it out with the other guys. Even Priya said something like Dave is the last person who would want to gang up or target someone. The whole Aussie culture thing may put people a little offside if anything. Even though I don't think anything racist was meant behind it. Priyas reactions may get people offside too so it may all balance out anyways.

I liked David's edit tonight. Priya was just being a whiny sook. All her allies have one by one been shown the door over the last couple of weeks. She must know she's on her last legs so she's moving into panic mode and is creating drama for the sake of.

Take on David at your own risk. I mean, ask Lisa how trying to paint David as a misogynist worked out for her. Goodbye!

This board is mostly full of mean girls, I'd hate to be in the BB house with them lol[DOUBLEPOST=1414583535][/DOUBLEPOST]

This is why I love you wifey.

ON POINT

Tonights ep may have looked bad for David (I really thought there was nothing really to it) but with all HM's up for eviction it just might work in Davids favour. Non David fans are never going to vote for him and if David fans are somehow turned off David tonight well then they never really where David fans to begin with. Just have to vote a bit extra hard this week.

The Australian culture thing... I kind of see what David means though. I know that the way it all ended up looks like a gang up, but in David's mind, this has probably happened to him a million times and he sees it as ribbing. I bet my $1000 that Dave has mostly been the one being ribbed even in scenarios it clearly hasn't been imo, but it has happened so often he just thinks it's a normal thing. Gosh this doesn't even make sense and I wish I could articulate this better, but that's the best I can do lol.

Well said

I think he's gained more than he's lost tbh over what was a total over reaction by Prizus. For starters he has me firmly in his corner from now on and I'll bet many more have jumped on his bandwagon for the same reason/s.

Prizus want to accelerate her downfall that's absolutely fine by me. Bring it beeeyuch Slay-vid is ready for you. Come at David and you won't know what hit you. :punch:

I empathised with David a lot tonight, I completely got where he was a coming from. Priya was just upset the newbies were getting uppity and had the nerve to harmlessly tease her.

I'm sorry but that's not a valid reason to blow off the handle over something so trivial and use it as an excuse to act like the uptight condescending humourless cow that she really is. We finally saw true colours, I thank Slay-vid for doing us a huge favour.

Priya took a simple situation and made it a story for her to slam david.

Overreacted big time.

Ganged up on her is a load of crap, she clearly knows how to tell people to shut up and should have told them right there to back off. Yet she went on and on about it and made it a 'i'm so superior and sophisticated' lecture.

Sometimes I forget she's 27, her actions are like a 60+ year old woman, looking to slam who ever she finds slightly not obsessed with her.

Not to mention, I love how her best friends are aisha and skye who are of the lesser IQ category and she stays away from david and ryan who are closer to her age wise/ intelligence wise and she originally found cat intimidating (avoids the intellectuals)

She likes to play the younger kids to get what she wants

In conclusion, she overreacted
David was wrong for sure, he tried to be the cool dude but that still doesn't make it ok for her to step up a lecture on why she's top shit.

Bleh.
I didn't see it until now and had thought something super bad had happened for people to comment stuff like davids such a jerk/sexist/bully - thought he'd done something super bad yet it was a simple joke taken advantage of by priya to show herself as top shit/superior.

Trying to impress the new housemates by putting down Priya isn't commendable at all. What it really shows is Dave's deep insecurities in himself, that he felt the need to put someone else down in order to make a 'joke' ...and we know he wasn't really joking about the whole defensive comment.

Hearing David talk about his "thick skin" tonight, I was like "whoever hurt you, I will cut a bitch seriously, just tell me their name and I will find them and make them pay". LOL, what is wrong with me? :sorry: There are these moments he's like an injured puppy that I want to bandage up and make better. :bear: It's those bloody blue eyes, I tells ya. There is so much more to David than meets the eye. O_O

@natalia
in a situation where you have just been accused of being defensive, of course Priya wouldn't say fuck off right then and there.. that would just reaffirm their point. If I was her I would have felt ganged up on as well.

I haven't watched many seasons of Big Brother, but I feel like there is only ever one housemate who I like and this season it's David by a mile. I liked him from the first night, though was still unsure but that went away soon after. Annoyingly, my mum (who I watch BB with) hates him and loves Skye  So almost every night we get into arguments about why David's awesome and why Skye sucks, haha. Hope he sticks around to the end because he's the only reason worth watching the show. And let's just hope the fans of Skye and Travis realise how pointless those two are and we can get a worthy winner for once!

What it shows is that Priya sees David as a serious threat and she knows her time is up. Therefore, she grabbed the first opportunity she could to make him look bad, and tbh it will backfire on her
