David Appreciation Thread

davo

people were talking about skye in this thread, so i joined in.

Because no one is on the Skye Appreciation thread? Maybe you should be putting your energy into proving why she deserves to be appreciated on that thread, instead of whinging on this thread?

Fml!

I do not care who posts in here, fan or not, I like healthy discussions, so I think everyone needs to take a deep breathe and relax. This thread isn't owned by David fans only and attack other fans, it's not just a David thread for fans and fans are the only ones who can discuss other hm's, but when other fans bring it up then it shouldn't become it's a David thread etc... I don't like that sort of thing, but I do think being respectful of the fact it is a David thread too should be taken into regards and that there are family members that frequent it and feel like it is their safe place to read supportive messages about David.

Clearing the air before it gets cray cray

The scenarios are 2 completely different issues tbh, I don't know why you insist on linking the 2. Like I said Dave doesn't know about Skye putting him up for eviction, all he knows is Skye was the only 1 willing to be lend a kind ear to a person who had been cruelly isolated by the rest of the group.

It's okay to admit that David has erred in judgement this 1 time, it doesn't make a lesser person because of it he's just a flawed human like the rest of us.

He better learn from it and not repeat the same mistake again though.

But how do we know she's been the only person to lend him support? Do you really think nobody else has spoken a word to him since that Friday night? We have absolutely no idea of the state of these people's relationships...so if Skye felt comfortable throwing David under the bus last night then that tells me that their relationship isn't so strong that he wouldn't call her out like he did tonight. Remember too, she was one of the main ones that went on with the "strategy Dave" bit so I'm sure he enjoyed giving that one back to her.

At the end of the day it's David who's up for eviction. He's the one who should be on his best behaviour and aligning himself with the filth of the house will do him no favours. He's signing his own funeral if he persists on following this course. :whistling: :p

Yeah, God, nobody leave. I'm loving a good debate tonight lol.

Although I probably should go to bed bahahaha.

Peace out Slayvid lovers and Slayvid haters  XOXO

I really do like Dave, he was one of my favourites but I'd like him more if he wasn't always seeking acceptance from Sandra. To me that's what it looks like.
That's why I hope she goes. Tbh, I don't think he will change even if she did stay. He believes the loyalty is a two way thing, even if she does walk all over him IMO. Some people feel a sense of honourable duties must be met and for whatever reason he feels this way to Sandra. Besides Sam asked David to be there for her and I truly believe he thinks he has been honoured to do so

That's the thing though, I don't understand why someone should be crucified for spending time with someone from another "group". It was blatantly obvious from the start of the show that he was worried about Sandra and said he felt helpless not being able to do anything for her. He kept asking people where she went. Sure he knows there's a group and Sam and Ryan are/were the heads of it but he was worried about someone he considers a friend and wanted to be with her. Now I don't like him doing that because I don't think Sandra deserves that loyalty from him but I can hardly criticise him for "crossing over" to be with someone he wants to support - especially when nobody on the other side seems to give him the time of day anyway.
I don't think anyone's crucifying him for it. I'm sure not. The comments in the DS thread tonight, including my own, all seemed to be the same "oh no, please don't hurt your chances of being saved by hanging around that mob".

If he weren't up for eviction this week, let alone in a double with Jason and Priya, I still wouldn't like him hanging out with Ryan and Sandra as personally I think he's far too good for them both. But it wouldn't matter. Some of the HMs who went the farthest last year including Tim and Jade had friends in both groups and were able to usually successfully navigate it and use it to their advantage at times. But we're talking specifically about tonight and the take away from this episode is the people in the gym bitching about Skye? David, Ryan, Sandra. The people by the stairs bitching to Skye? David, Ryan, Sandra. The people in that other room after they left the stairs, bitching about Skye? David, Ryan, Sandra. Ignoring everything else about loyalty, being able to choose who he hangs out with, etc... as a fan who wants him to survive an extremely tough double eviction next week, tonight was not ideal.

I don't adore David any less from what I saw tonight. Not at all. However as someone who wants him to survive next week, after watching tonight's episode I'm worried more. That's the only place I'm coming from.

Then why should David be asked to do anything for Skye if that's the case? Why should he not be allowed call her out if he thinks she's been fake because she spoke to him one Friday night? Especially when she had no hesitations laughing away as she put him up for eviction?

Yep...and calling him annoying while doing it. There was no need for that comment. Where was her loyalty? I haven't seen tonight's ep yet...so I can't comment on it. But joking or not, if David called her a strategist...he isn't wrong...since that is the reason he is even nominated this week....and Skye knows it.

Yeeesss! So true. Well hopefully if David survives next week (and I'll be doing my best to make sure it happens!) Sandra will be gone so we don't have to worry about that fake friendship anymore. He's so loyal to her and while I think it's hurting him it also highlights a great part of his character. He genuinely seemed so worried for her tonight and it was incredibly sweet despite her being so undeserving of it.
Yeah I think David and Sandra are still sharing a bed from when they were paired up.David has been hanging out with Sandra ,Sam and Ryan because of Sandra's crush on Sam,and then Sam being paired with Ryan from week 1-2....so its not a surprise he's still friends with them, even though Ryan baits him at times. David was aware Sam,Sandra and Ryan were the alpha group with Lawson but didn't mean he couldn't still see them as mates but he likes to hang out with the others as well.
He's not privy to the knowledge they would backstab him in a heartbeat, especially Sandra, so would have been supporting Sandra because she's still fragile at Sam leaving and also being nominated again. He doesn't know what she's said about Skye, or him in the DR etc.

I think most of the HM's (plus some viewers),although we only saw Ryan,Sandra and David voice it. would have been surprised at Skye being so serious, articulate and strategic during her nominations...so would be wondering if they were maybe being conned by her immature ditzy act in the house, and thought it was her game-plan.

David may have wanted to rile up Skye a little bit with the Strategic Skye comment but it was also said as bit of a laugh at them all calling him Strategy Dave after his superman task, (when BB called him Super Dave) plus Skye did nom Ryan for strategic reasons.

I think he was just confused that night and caught up in the moment, about if he was really getting to know the real Skye, or one putting on an act for BB/cameras.
There was poll here a while back and around 85% thought at the time she was playing up to the cameras.

I think he genuinely cares for all the HM's sharing this BB experience together.
Hopefully they have sorted it out now but we won't know until Monday night.:)

if you guys are going to discuss the incident, i am going to join in whether you like it or not.
and there is obviously no need to 'prove' she deserves appreciation. the numbers speak for themselves.

You and me both.
This sums up what David did tonight:

David chose the wrong alliance! Ganging up on Skye with Sandy and Cryan. Big mistake!
Well let's just bloody hope next week both of them are gone so that group is finally decimated and we can see what happens next without that silly group. Lawson, Leo, Marina and Aisha were all missing from that Skye stuff tonight... whatever the f they were doing each of those times I wish David were there doing it with them.

We did start discussing Skye, and IMO you have very right to chime in :) but I do want you to know that David's sisters read posts in here and I do think it's their safe place to read supportive things of David.

I adore Skye (as you know) and I personally think she doesn't articulate herself well in a group setting because of her insecurities of her intelligence. Her conversation with ryan where she seems paranoid that people are calling her dumb was one of the insights I saw that she feels people make fun of how she sounds and comes across so she clams up IMO. She does better in explaining herself when she is not around everyone because she feels no one is judging her and therefore her confidence isn't shaken up too. That's how I feel about it. I'll take this to the Skye thread where we can share our love of her some more :)
