David Appreciation Thread

Everyone is welcome here, but please bear in mind this is specifically an Appreciation thread, not a slanging match or a place to point fingers. Let's leave that to the housemates! They excel at that!

Please respect the fact that members of David's family both visit and respond on this thread. We'd love for them to stick around, so please show the same courtesy you would if it was the Appreciation thread of your favourite.

Now how about we stop talking about Skye and get back to David? He looked hot tonight, like a sunrise! Did he not, or did he not? :)
 
Sounds like he's in danger. Not sure if I can watch tonights episode actually. It's going to be a tough eviction.

I adore Skye (as you know) and I personally think she doesn't articulate herself well in a group setting because of her insecurities of her intelligence. Her conversation with ryan where she seems paranoid that people are calling her dumb was one of the insights I saw that she feels people make fun of how she sounds and comes across so she clams up IMO. She does better in explaining herself when she is t around everyone because she feels no one is judging her and therefore her confidence isn't shaken up too. That's how I feel about it. I'll take this to the Skye thread where we can share our love of her so e more :)

I don't think any HM's were upset about Skye taking the $5k, and what was said in the noms, (apart from maybe Ryan) because they all have to nominate. I bet Priya was feeling awkward being called a dibber dobber in front of everyone.
It was more they were seeing a different side to her in the DR, when it appears she's said she hates doing nominations or whatever, and doesn't always come across so confident or strategic. they now think she knows what she’s doing after all, and playing a good game so far...

Sandra hasn't liked Skye since week one, and nominated her a few times already.

Her pulling away from him when he had the beard, losing the $20k for them, not kissing him but then immediately kissing Leo... all things I would've ditched her for already but he hasn't. I still suspect he has a crush and now that Sam's gone this could explain why he's now jumped from what he said last week to this one. (I just realised that now as I'm typing this)

It's an awesome trait to have. It's such a pity that it's not reciprocated. It's difficult to watch, knowing it's one-sided.

Yeah it is difficult to watch. Last year I'd started off a Jade fan, went off her for a good few weeks and then came around to her again by the end. But even when I was off her and I'd see this girl genuinely in love with Ed while we knew he'd nominated her and all the shit he'd talked... my heart would just break for her. BB's a game of course but these people still have feelings no matter how strategic or how much of a lone wolf we can say they are. I just wish I lived in QLD. I'd go to Dreamworld, go to that ride that the HMs can hear the screams from, pay the carnie $500 to stop it at the ideal spot so I could be heard the most clearly and yell "David, Sandra's a snake!! Stay away from her and Ryan!!"

The Sandy thing, she jumped into the ganging up against Skye first. Her comments were some what ok, except the fact it ignored the fact Ryan unjustifiably and deliberately jumped down at Skye. Skye's comments about Sandra was to do with a larger point of how she's talked down to, treated differently. It's in the context of being berated and talked down to. Where Sandra and Dave were jumping onto the bully bandwagon.

So yeah, lost pretty much and respect I gained for David tonight.

I don't think he said anything that bad. Calling her out for being strategic? By saying that she was smarter than she pretended to be? Saying she was Strategic Skye wasn't even an insult to her and she's called him Strategic Dave before (how is that different??)

Skye said just as much to Ryan. There was no bullying. Enough with that word. Ryan was actually having a conversation with her and she was making as many provoking comments. It was a circular argument between the both of them and you're letting your bias of Ryan I believe influence you here. (and I can't even stand the guy)

You think there was something wrong with David trying to say not to overreact and they should all be civil? You don't think that was the voice of reason in that point in time?

As for Sandra, that has nothing to do with David. That's Sandra. She's responsible for herself. I don't even like Sandra but Skye flew at her first regarding sulking etc. You don't think that's inflammatory?

I believe you're looking at a 2-sided argument and buying into the 'Skye is a victim' thing.

I am all for the demise of that alliance. When Travis goes back in that will be a big wake up call for them.

So concern for someone that he considers a friend is a bad thing? (I don't like his friend but it's not a bad character trait to have loyalty and concern). Let's be real here.
1 person who showed him compassion? She said he's weird and put him up for nomms. Yeah okay then.
I think you forget that David was the ONLY one to NOT jump over to the 'cool kids' group when Travis had his argument with Ryan instead he said things as he saw them.
If he felt that Skye was putting on an act he's more than entitled to call her out on it.
 
yeah I don't think Ryan will be happy to see Travis, although he might try and put on brave face for a little while.
David and Travis got closer during the hotel task.
Skye will be happy until she realises Aisha is back to hanging out more with Travis and not her.

on jump-in one of the articles says that David brought up Strategy Skye during family dinner, when HM's were discussing their Big Brother highs and lows to date...
They'd only just seen Skye's nominations before dinner. I think a lot of the HM's were probably thinking the same thing about Skye at that time, saw her in new light but there will be something new for them to worry about the next day.

I can't wait for him to go back in! The look on Ryan's face in particular will be priceless. And the others will cotton on that he was the most saved so it'll be interesting to see how they adjust now. I had said before that episode that although I'm a diehard Priya fan (as well as David and Leo), I just wanted her to be safe because only Travis would have an impact on his return. Who wants to see the HMs all going gaga like when Ben returned last year? No, as a viewer you want them - or at least some of them - to be scared shitless and/or pissed off.

Sorry I thought the cool kid was Skye who said to Leo that he was only with her because she was soooo loved on the outside and she was going to win it. She doesn't think she's ruling the school at all. :)
David has a right to his opinion regarding the way she acts.

Yeah I can't wait for that either. Hopefully Aisha won't totally monopolise his time so we'll see the impact on the other players.
 
Hey guys.. Just started watching tonights episode.
Just want to say that i'm already on Sandra, Ryan and Davids side

Skye is being 100% fake and I can understand why they felt like that.
I even get how sandra feels..yes sandra is a massive whimp but she's got a point...why are we liking the fake blonde who is definitely going to spend her prize money if she wins on make up, nail polish and more lip injections? Do we want to pick an idiot and hand her over nearly $200,000 so she can blow it all on gucci shows and prada bags?
I definitely think we don't see skyes annoying side enough, she must be hell to live with and then a huge surprise to see her so eloquently nominate.
We're being played by her big time and I personally don't want skye to win that is 100% final.

Exactly! Cryan's look will be hilarious and they will catch wind of his popularity. Their alliance will be strong again and the whining condescending downers will be flushed out one by one. :D
