Episode Day 38 (15/10/2014) "Live" Nominations

While Skye's use of the extra nominations points was in some ways rather odd, she got what she wanted out of it and saved Aisha from nominations. Priya was so far up the board there was nothing she could have done, in any case.

What I found really odd was the week before when Cat, so in lurve with Lawson, didn't even waste one point to see where he was on the leaderboard, and didn't try at all to save him - no, she used her power to find out where Travis was sitting, wanted to make sure Travis was safe, and then groaned and carried on when she in fact shoved him back onto the red section. And they say Skye's dumb and disingenuous.

I'm glad Skye and her mum got 5K. Not so glad she's got her makeup back. Most of the people Skye's nominated have got the boot, so playing any more of her noms would have been irrelevant really; I noticed they cherry-picked the noms to highlight remaining housos.

She made a good choice to go for the gold. And while sacrificing David was not her initial choice, I think she also handled that well - given he's been safe that many times and is less likely to go, and also knowing he can handle hearing that he's been nom'd by her, if BB chose to play that bit of footage, whereas other people would be far more likely to hold a vicious grudge; and given that saving Aisha was her main objective.
 
Just watched yesterday's ep.
  • 15 minutes in (not including ads) and the only new thing I've seen is skye's power play
  • How many times do they want to call Travis a "rough diamond"?
  • Bromo-erotica? WHAT
  • Halfway through the show we watch Travis leave for the second time this ep, but overlayed with opera music WHY IS THIS NEEDED I think I remember him leaving from the recap earlier in the ep, or maybe my memory can even stretch back as far as yesterday night UGH so frustrated
  • I really liked Cat's nominations: Ryan because he's flying under the radar and needs to experience being up for eviction, and Leo because he is well-liked and at an advantage
  • HAHA strategy dave - cute "he's still got an accent, and that annoys me"
  • Wonder if Priya and Ryan will think Skye targeted them in her noms for this week
 
IMO since the nominations are now packaged into the Daily Show, why can't they edit it so that it goes

HM #1 already in DR: For ___ points I nominate _____
then after BB accepts the 2nd nomination, cut straight to HM #2 in the DR.
Repeat for all other HMs

We don't need to see them entering / exiting the DR or BB telling them "____, your nominations are complete".

If I didn't know different, I'd assume Channel 9 were promoting some cheap budget porno.
 
Yeah, Tbh I thought Skye used the points the best out of everyone who's had head of house so far. She actually saved people that could be saved, Priya was too hard to be saved and I'm glad she took the gold, cos she tells her truth about the housemates anyways. It's nothing that's awful, that picture @davidftw posted looks like someone doesn't know how to use photoshop properly.

I enjoyed the bits with Skye in the diary room and getting the coins out, and watching them see Skye's nomimations lol.. Great comedy and working things up there. Possibly funniest scene of the season so far ?

Trav & Ben also happened to make me laugh.. I don't get why people are whinjing about Ben so much on this board (I missed most of last year though), he does seem like a quirky bugger but he is unique in his way, totally harmless fellah. Embrace diversity all you mean people out there, it's not every day you get to see some unusual characters on tv!!

Overall I'm happy with what's been happening over the last few nights.. Good results. I don't mind Sandra and don't get why people think she's soooo evil.

Truly, I miss the eviction scenes of channel 10. I don't know if it's just me but I used to feel emotional when we where played back the scenes of their experiences in the Big Brother house. The eviction videos these days are lame. Shows only stuff we've already seen (like as if they went through the edits of each episode for footage) and little is done to really capture their time in the house. It's a slapdash job now with ch9 and I hardly feel any emotion at all, I'm just there staring at it and thinking get this crap over with already lol...

Well, gonna record tomorrow night's episode and watch it on the weekend to break up this ridiculously long break of no information for 4 f'ing days.

I think I speak for a few here in saying I'm very happy to embrace diversity at any time but what I will not embrace is a fake - and Ben has been shown up to be a fake on quite a few occasions. He grates on us because of that.
If he quit with the schtick and was genuine I'd be happy to watch him without complaint.
After this dose of Ben I know I will not be able to watch Tim's trip to Gracelands - I would be throwing things at the tv or seeing if it bounced on concrete after the first few minutes of him being on screen.[DOUBLEPOST=1413423212][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thank you, Melore. Yes its surreal actually, I never really noticed them until I got an alert that said I had won a Trophy, I think that might have been for 1000 posts. I didnt know what the trophies were. They actually go up quite quickly, once you get invested in the programme and the site. I keep checking the snail mail, but I still havent received it.
