Car rental is more than that, I've never seen an SUV for less than $50 a day, and again there are taxes, insurances, etc. I've never rented a van so I don't know how much that costs. In addition, I thought the crew get a salary as well, plus they need equipment in the U.S. and editing in Australia. No idea how much that costs.

Hard to know how much Tim is sinking into this. I actually think he is much better off banking his money and not missing it away. But if he couldn't get a network to back him, I'm not sure why this is costing so much.

Gas is $2.78 in N. Nashville right now and dropping quickly (Memphis $2.71 and falling)
I assume they would have equipment and bring it with them
