A little off-topic ish but it's not just Michael's breakfast show that has been scrapped - SCA is completely scrapping the SAFM brand with "something new" to replace it on the 107.1 frequency.

Rumours say 2007 Big Brother Intruder Daniela Pola may be part of a new breakfast lineup.

ROTF I didn't think it COULD get worse than the hat but ummmmm polka dots?! please tell me those are for the girlfriend!!

OH come on now I love those shoes. I hope he models them for us. :) There's something about polka dots that makes me smile. Hats, I don't care about hats. But shoes I like. And lets not be sexist, men can wear those too.

I choose........ the "like" hat side..... *ducks and hides form the hat hating side*

Now that shirt on the other hand......

He is a very handsome man wearing a howdy doody hat. Maybe it was a gift and he is being nice to someone by wearing it. A new angle.

Hat + Morticia
...

It's what I see everytime

Umm, Morticia was hot... ;)

I actually feel quite sorry for Jade....things really haven't worked out for her as she'd hoped, and she now seems a bit desperate. Every second photo is in underwear or her bathers, as if to remind everyone how great her body is. She's done some bit work this year, but no real acting. She seems to live on just bits of jobs. I also thinks she's been used a bit by Tim, when he wants some publicity in those Daily Mail articles, but he doesn't seem to involve her in his projects or media work. She seems a nice person, but with no real direction and now the footy season is over she has lost those contacts too.

That made me laugh so much, still have a smile on my face hahaha :)

Random question @Sparrow11 - are you from Nebraska?

Thank you! You've helped us hire a film crew to follow Ben and Tim to Graceland. We'll put a series of their adventures online for you to see.

Did Tim say to Ben "if we can get people on the internet to pay for it, then I will take you to Graceland if I win " ?????

I tend to disagree with you a little here. We don't know what sort of work she does apart from odd snippets here and there. From what I've seen she tends to do a bit of event work for channel 9 at assorted shows/ festivals and the footy show & apart from the tv infomercials from Delonghi we don't know what else she does with them, nor what she does with the NRL or what she will do in the off season with them. The bikini shots you could say may form part of advertising for her PT business when she gets it up and running. She's also got the schoolies cruise coming up and the It's a Date episode. I would like to see her have something more permanent workwise but if she's busy doing what she is, good luck to her.

My understanding of the trip is that Tim is paying for himself and Ben. The money is for the director, crew and the filming. I think that is what the site explained, or I read it somewhere.

Me, I think he could do this much cheaper by using local U.S. people. No need to drag everyone from Australia. Lots of youtubers just film themselves or have friends do it. A lot of work is done by interns who work for free to get credit and experience. I think he asked for way too much money. I would think he could maybe raise $10,000 , but $40,000 to pay for a crew to have a holiday in the U.S. from Australia is ridiculous.

You're probably correct about the cost benefits of using local crew, but maybe part of the crowdfunding plan is to raise and maintain interest in the project. I guess that those who contribute are more likely to watch the series when it does air, as well.

Tim is buying the tickets and taking Ben to Graceland in December this year. We want to raise some money so we can go with them! We will spend it on:

-a director
-a film crew
-an editor
-flights
-accommodation
-local assistance
-expenses

From the fundraiser site.

The $39,200 must be paying for everything else on the trip other than the tickets Tim will buy for himself and Ben (if you take this statement at face value)
American Airlines has a bunch of $2,500 RT flights for Dec.8- Dec19
so 6 people would be 15k
4 $125 per night ($500 per total) rooms for 10 days = $5k
van $87 per day (870) + a SUV $49 per day (490) + 200 gallons of gas ($600)
that leaves $17.2k sounds like quite a party for 6-8 people

I think another mistake they made was leaving this go so long. If they really need to raise $40,000 then they would have had much more chance of doing that closer to when last year's show finished when people still had a keen interest in following what Tim and Ben got up to next. I know a lot of us here are still following their moves but I can't imagine too many of the general public would care enough at this stage to dig into their pockets. Even myself, a year ago I would have donated some money to this no doubt but now I really don't care enough to...especially when there's another series of BB on and any money I can spare for that will be going to voting. IMO they needed to get the ball rolling on this a long time ago (at the very least collecting the money even if they couldn't go then).

That's another question though: what happens if they don't reach the target? (And at this stage it looks unlikely they will). Will they still do it on a reduced budget, or will they refuse to go until the money is donated? Surely they couldn't do the latter given people have already given them money. Hopefully Tim was just aiming high with the 40k figure (thinking maybe if they got that it would pay for the trip too) and he plans on filming it on a much smaller budget.

I think you are underestimating costs. It is hard to find a decent place for $125 a night, after tax. Car rental is more than that, I've never seen an SUV for less than $50 a day, and again there are taxes, insurances, etc. I've never rented a van so I don't know how much that costs. Gas is low at $3.50 a gallon right now, no idea what it costs in Memphis, maybe about the same?
In addition, I thought the crew get a salary as well, plus they need equipment in the U.S. and editing in Australia. No idea how much that costs.

Hard to know how much Tim is sinking into this. I actually think he is much better off banking his money and not missing it away. But if he couldn't get a network to back him, I'm not sure why this is costing so much.

With kickstarter things, people only pay if they reach the target.
So if they don't reach the target, no money at all.

I'm sure the money is returned to donors if it isn't funded at the level they ask. Every kick starter I've seen does that.
I agree, they waited much, much too long. He should have started this back in December or when he first did the video announcement. I would have given some money then, not much, but say 5 or 10 dollars, and I bet a lot of Ben's fans would have as well.
I'm not sure why he waited, or even why this trip has to be a YouTube event. Maybe he wanted to see what other opportunities came up?

no if you watch the video he promised Ben the trip and he is paying for him and Ben to go - the crowd-funding they are seeking is to pay for a camera crew etc to go along with them to film it so viewers can watch

He really did NOT think about what he was doing when he swallowed that $2 coin though ... YUK!!!
