Episode Day 9 (16/09/2014) Daily Show

ok so after this eviction someone will be single - no partner cos they've been shown the door ...

soooooooooooooooooo is that the end of the partner thing (because the "BIGGEST COMPETITION IN THE HISTORY OF BB" or whatever they called it) will be over - so is that then the end of pairs ... and then if it continues does that mean the next person saved from a pair automatically gets paired with the single person ...
because then they'll REALLY have to be thinking OMG I don't want to nominate THEM because I might get stuck with them if they are saved by the public ... or we don't want to chance those two becoming a new pair ...

i think i'm just complicating things ... lol
In bbus, when your partner was evicted you had immunity until there was only singles left, and then the game began again.

I don't think this is the same because the couples can be split up and rearranged. There is no way someone should get immunity for weeks (assuming this twist last for a while, which it may not) just because they are stuck with a partner that the house dislikes. There is no certainty at all that the house will evict the least popular (in terms of Australia) person. Australia should be able to have that person nominated and not have to wait.

The BB pairs were more naturally set up based on relationship.

But this is just a guess. Who knows what the rules will actually turn out to be.

well I don't like that idea at all ... not from a hm's point of view because the singles then are protected even if they are PITAs ... and not from the public point of view either

Also, as I mentioned alsewhere, it will mean that the most popular hms in the house will most likely be the ones that are left -not the ones we like the best, but the ones with the most friends (because this is Australian BB, and I can't see anyone* having the guts to keep the people they think they can beat, over the ones that the majority like.)

*Except Priya

They should have put Cat with Skye re: marry for money seeing as Cat went on a date with a guy from a Millionaire Dating site.

Finally watched it!

Ok, well I'm really put off by that money question designed for Skye and Lisa. They ask that question and then ask whether porn is degrading to women? Seriously?! What a ridiculous question! How was it not designed not to upset one of them, especially Skye. I'd loved to have thrown Skye's profile for them to have read where money does not seem like her biggest priority in life. Poor girl. Yes, I got teary for her her too.

David is definitely looking like the estelle of this year. I feel so sorry for him. I was actually really put off by Sandra stating she needs space with her posse sitting all around her whilst David just looked so awkward and out of place, as if to made like he doesn't belong. Utterly cruel from my perspective. He already feels like an outsider and to do that only reinforces that. He is acting fine and like people's opinion of him don't matter, but that to me is a human defense mechanism to not think about it and protect oneself.

I can't believe I am going to say this... I totally loved ryan after this episode. You could even say I'm crushing. He is so much more than I initially thought of him. Very wise words came from his mouth and his understanding of women was insightful. Glad he isn't with travis anymore, because I'm hoping he now won't just spend his day being his sidekick. He has a lot more potential to me.

Now my whinge about the actual show. What's with this 15 hours earlier rubbish, this flashback thingy, and this ridiculous non chronological order of events that are being supported by the flashbacks and all that? We wouldn't need them if they just showed events of the day happening. It's like they are doing it in a way so the audience doesn't have to think for themselves and they've pieced it in a way that they think we will just accept it as their version of truth. It's not a stupid sitcom!!!!!

Does anyone else agree that there's a major lack of humour this season so far?
I know Tim wasn't everyone's cup of tea but he was pretty bloody funny and by now we'd already had a few laugh out loud moments. Same with Josh and Michael in 2012.
But I really don't find a single housemate funny so far.. I have a little chuckle when Skye says something stupid or when Jake raps because I think it's ridiculous but nothing has made me want to rewind and watch again.
Too much drama and seriousness.

Boring!

Do you think Davd was being blunt or snarky?
by my definition (blunt being unthinking) (and totally oblivious when it comes to David) he was blunt

he didn't deliberately say something (snarky) to hurt Sandra - I think he likes her (first night he was stroking her hair at one point)
if I believed he'd done that I'd be tearing him a new one[DOUBLEPOST=1410929989][/DOUBLEPOST]

I liked Tim's enthusiasm and creativity in the house. I miss that.

I didn't find Tim funny - he was like fingernails on a blackboard for me. But the HMs, in general, last year seemed to be a lot more light-hearted and fun, and seemed to be able to enjoy themselves pretty easily. As a whole they were fun to watch, and way more engaging than this crowd. Whether that is due to the manipulated situations and script that we are being limited to viewing, or because this lot all have sticks up their backsides, I'm not entirely sure.

i went through highs and lows with Tim ... he's actually grown on me more outside of the house (smaller doses probably! lol)

I thought this was one of the better episodes so far this season. I'm going to have an editing whinge again because the choppiness of the DR entries, the lazy jump-forward-with-noise crap and *fifteen hours earlier* is annoying, but it was better outside of that.

Lisa feels like the biggest disappointment of a housemate for me. Her comments re strippers are especially poor. Way to put down women you work with, and apparently don't bother to take the time to get to know. Just generalise instead because it's much easier. She's disappointing because she's of an age where she should have some maturity. Instead she's very teenage drama.

I don't really care for the whole Dave thing. I feel a bit sorry for him, but he needs to make an effort to not be so annoying if he's worried about eviction. He's aware of his habits, so if he cares about the game (and his partner) then he should try to stop them. Don't tell your partner not to clean or make silly comments that she is never going to react well to.

Cat's the voice of reason and still my favourite. I'm kind of happy she's separated from Sam, because he's starting to get on my nerves. He's just one of those "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!" type of people. Tell a story that makes you feel guilty? Nah, I'll just brag about how awesomely funny I think I am. Ugh. Go away. You should be a seriously better housemate too.

If the housemates weren’t wearing coloured lanyards, I have no doubt we wouldn’t have even been told it was ’15 hours earlier’. It was so pieced together - eg in one scene we saw Travis and Cat wearing purple, and later Cat was shown sipping wine in the circle 'thingy' wearing green. I wonder if they’re regretting the lanyard decision now (especially if there are more swaps to come) – and have realised ‘crap we didn’t think this through.’ Haha. A bit like the content levels of their replacement shakes giving away that we were seeing things out of order.

I think I'm more offended that they think we are this stupid to not take notice, but they win anyways, because somehow they think me watching is me accepting they can do this. And well they are not completely wrong because I can't stop watching. But I sure as hell will complain!

I think they like taking the Mickey out of us at times, so I do wonder whether they have a laugh at us whinging.

Btw, love your avatar ;)
