2014 Ratings Thread

They will be stoked with 645k starting after 915pm. Only lost to Michael Hutchance thing by 30k. If they can hold 800+ on mon and tues, 700 on weds and thurs and 600+ (at that time) on sun then we can expect BB on again in 2015. Nobody cares about Fridays in ratings any more!
So they decide within the first 2 weeks if it'll be on again next year? Also when does the numbers get released for the DVR'ing of episodes?

If consolidated figures don't push it considerably higher, NINE might have their excuse to drop the Sunday show and go back to 5 days a week again. :(

I'm guessing the Sunday night show in its current form will only last 4-6 weeks (as Late Night Feast did last year). When The Block finishes, the Sunday show will probably move to 6.30 and be a conventional daily show, or some new show

Assuming the adjusted numbers are correct the demos were
5th in 16-39 and 6th 25-54 7th 18-49

By the way, these are just preliminary overnight numbers.

Nine wins night despite Big Brother audience crashing to 645,000
Nine’s Big Brother saw its audience dramatically fall off in a later timeslot of 9:15pm on Sunday night, with only 645,000 tuning in giving it its lowest ratings of the series so far, overnight OzTam metro TV ratings show.
The show had slowly seen its audience fall away following the Monday launch when 1.06m tuned in, and having been the second most popular show across all demographics during the week, fell out of the top four shows across all age groups last night.

The show was beaten by Seven’s The Last Days of Michael Hutchence and ABC’s final of Anzac Girls which grabbed audiences of 690,000 and 817,000 airing at 9.15pm and 8.30pm respectively. Last week’s episode of Anzac Girls was watched by an extra 201,000 viewers, taking its total audience to 985,000.
Nine did win the night with a share of 25.3 per cent with The Block Glasshouse once again dominating, drawing a metro audience of 1.695m and Nine News also performing well with an audience of 1.368m. 60 Minutes trumped rival Sunday Night with a metro audience of 1.107m, down slightly on last week’s audience of 1.2m at 8pm.
Nine had the demographics all tied up, with The Block Glasshouse the most popular across them all, with 60 Minutes the second most watched show across people aged 16-39 and 18-49, while Nine News was the second most watched across people aged 25-54.

Too hard to tell at this stage. Mon + Tues ratings will give us a better indication.

If anything it's a sign to Channel 9 to bring BB earlier (if possible).

I don't follow NRL but I am pretty sure there is only two more Friday nights taken up by it in Sydney and Brisbane.

Here is an interesting comparison: on the same Friday night last year, Friday September 13, the combined total audience for Big Brother between Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth was 247 thousand, this year 224 thousand. Of course, last year we did not have the issue with Sydney and Brisbane, as the show aired at 7pm prior to the NRL.

It wasn't on at the same time as the footy in Melbourne last year though. I'm not sure about Adelaide, but that would obviously be an issue too.

Everybody is complaining that 8.40 or 9 is too late?

Can anyone tell me when do you aussie guys sleep? Cos its pretty early hour. Its not midnight u know??
I know. Most Americans are probably up until 10:30 or 11 watching tv. I have a feeling we watch way more tv than Australians do.

Would be good if they had a 6.30 and 9pm show with the second essentially being the Late Night Feast. Pretty much gives them one show per day too.
