Talk to Timdormer (yes it's really me)

i think there is a big clue in the promo of housemates arriving two by two onto the ark like animals. i don't think there will be couples like a lot of people are predicting. i think there will just be very diverse housemates this year (yes we are told this every year), diverse like the animals that hopped onto noahs ark.
So do you mean that we might be getting people who are polar opposites of each other, like one extreme right wing person and an extreme left wing person?

G'DAY!! I told you I'd return!!

Got a lot to chat about with you guys!! Will try to answer as many questions as I can tonight and I'll try scroll back for the ones I've missed since I was here last time. But no more 3:30am late ones...after our last chat I was awoken at 5am to head into work to cohost with Jackie O to fill in for Kyle Sandilands after less than 2 hours sleep! But nothing planned tomorrow yet besides lunch catchup with Tahzy and Tully, so maybe you'll have me for a while.

Oh and yes I did get a message from Alex after our last chat...he said he enjoyed reading it, but reminded me to play nice. As I said last time, I don't know too much about the new series, but there is a few BIG things that I've been sworn to secrecy about! Haha, I can't wait until the cats out of the bag!!

I'm on here for one reason, I'm a huge Big Brother fan like you guys! I love talking about the show! So shoot.

Now this just makes me more curious! lol

I know you do work with Nine, but does the reminder to 'play nice' mean that you are still contracted / have obligations following-on from BB 2013? Or maybe that you being here may impact on any future involvement with BB this year...?

Or that he just doesn't trust you not to spill the beans. ;)

Either way, nice to have you here, Tim - great of you to drop by (and you too, Alex, *waves*)!

Hey Timmy great to see you here so why do you love bigbrother so much ?

good question!! i remember i discovered it by accident, and was hooked! it was the first of a new type of tv, reality! I studied a few media subjects at uni a long time ago and i remember i wrote a big essay on big brother being the first of a new type of multi-platform tv show which crossed over to other forms of media due to the interactive nature of the show, live audience, voting, online content, product advertisement etc. I used to watch it alone in another room because my family and friends all thought it was rubbish! I remember skipping church on a sunday night to watch the live evictions! Even though i was obsessed, i NEVER had plans to go on it until i heard it was returning to 9 in 2012.
I remember there was a story going around that i had 'studied' all the big brothers of the world intently before going into the house, not true. I've only ever watched the aus series as a fan, as they went live to air. I think this was my only advantage, I knew what type of big brother moments i found the most entertaining as a fan...the action, the conflict, the rawness, the laughs. I just wanted to live and play the game as though i was watching my own series as a fan again!

And then the "liked pairs" are separated into two groups, what then?

Hi Tim,

Very nice of you to answer questions! I'm not sure there's much left to ask since you've answered so much!

If I remember correctly, you actually got along well with Ed during the first week or two in the house? Not super close or anything, but I remember you saying at a dinner saying that you thought he was a genuinely nice guy. When did you start to dislike him, what did you think of him during your time in the house, and what do you think of him now?

oh did you not see our bits? i'll answer this easy. i'll even tell you about peoples bits if you want. haha.

boys who showered nude:
me, drew, caleb, matt

girls:
tully, tahan, mikkayla,

What did the girls who went au naturel say when they caught you looking? I bet they secretly loved it didn't they?

Kay went nude? For a girl who was very subconscious about shape and size, that is surprising.

Being pulled out of the mix last minute in 2012 would have sucked. I'm so glad you came back the following year for another go. Were there times where you thought 'stuff 'em I'm not applying again?'

I'm going to say something really stupid and ask, did my season have an up late? i haven't watched anything!! in the house when our friday night parties started we were reminded it would be in a different timeslot with more adult content aired. that didn't stop people like tully from taking her top off...every friday night.

There was a Thursday night show (mostly filled with titillating drunken footage) for about a month but it started at 9:30pm so it wasn't that late.

Tuesday Night, actually! As I summarised in a front page post wrapping up 2013, it was a good addition, aside from the fact that the mature themes were manufactured/forced. It was set around a party, at the same time, on the same day of each week. It didn't cover the entire week's events that were 'too naughty to show at 7pm'. And I'm not even talking about showing flesh - I'm talking about the conversations and mischief that get palmed off at 7pm because teens etc might not understand the situation.

With that said, though, the fact you were told of the late show on Friday (directors directing the housemates as 'cast-mates'?) is pretty bad as far as the BB format goes. What ever happened to letting housemates be housemates and show/edit around what the housemates create, not a manipulated storyline that just grabs the headlines or gets the social media comments?

Amen.

After the Sugar Sisters were evicted, the Daily Show and the Live Updates suggested there was a massive divide between Ed, Jade, Maddie and Mikk, and you, Tahan, Drew and Boog. Was this accurate? And meanwhile, Ed and Boog - are they are thing?

yeah me ed and ben were the only guys on the safe side (until drew arrived) for the first week. EVERYONE loved him, he was prince charming mr perfect, sharon described him in her farewell video as "the type of guy she wished he son would grow to be". Look, even though we came from really different worlds, I actually like hanging around people who have different life experiences to share, so i was looking forward to learning from him. it all came crashing down when he had the nomination superpower week 2 and used it on me to hear me call him, matt and caleb the "meatheads". He really didn't like this and mistrusted me from then on. i think he actually overestimated how strategic i actually was and became obsessed with trying to "beat me at my own game" as he would say. numerous times we oudl have these huge verbal blows to which we would decide to "get to know each other more", it always lasted a few days...then he would be leading a mutiny against me again. i used to tell him numerous times in the house, 'mate you are going to watch this show back and wonder why you wasted so much of your time trying to fight me". I would always be open to having a beer (or a line of cocaine, JOKES) with ed and laugh off our differences.
