Usually when someone posts an update saying "Flights booked!" it implies that they'd just done it (hence posting the update).

Also writing flights plural makes complete sense because she'd likely book return tickets and probably internal flights too (I don't think her family live in Rome which I think is the only Italian city you can fly straight to from Sydney).

So yeah, sorry to ruin everyone's fun lol but I'm pretty sure she's going alone.
