2014 Today I ......

That's a bit sacrilegious of you Ders, drinking on Good Friday. Just make sure you eat the surf and steer clear of the turf; we wouldn't want you going full on heathen.

Hmm.
It is very odd.
Derspatz why aren't you on your knees in a church ?
That is where you should be for the next 3 days- if you truly were a faithful soul, nobody could drag you away.
You lying cheating heathen.
You are probably scoffing a meat pie too - and blowing more hot air

Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For it is written,

“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall live praise to God.”

So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.

...

Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.

If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” (which all refer to things destined to perish with use)—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men? These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.

Pencils by Artgerm - Stanley Lau

Finally done! After a few delays due to paying work and being sick with a cold, this one is done. Still I must have spent easilydouble my normal time on it, because trying to colour Art's stuff so that it doesn't even remotely look like ass isn't easy!

I referenced his colours for the headset and bikini bits but I think the skintones and hair are mostly mine.

cheers

"today i ..." finally opened the JW black label and used it to sooth me through the lengthy process of taking hours of gopro footage from last week and turning it into something semi-watchable.

Here's what I've managed thus far. Still got 6 lots of snorkel stuff to sort through (which includes duck diving on a shark and following a turtle) but that can wait til who knows when ... still got stuff from Bora-Bora from last year to do ... and more of last year's GBR adventure too. sigh.

Anyhoo, first up, a couple of hours of the view from the Reef Hotel on Hamilton Island condensed down to under 5 minutes.

Next up, a nice afternoon dive on Bait Reef which shows the following creatures (in order) LSCP, Sweetlips, GT (Giant Trevally), an enormous Humphead Wrasse and some batfish. Oh, and bastard fish (photo bombing yellow-tails).

Here's the night dive at the same location. The horrible sound shortly into clip is me sliding down the guide rope ... I figured it would be easier to film if I dumped most of the air from my BCD and let gravity do its thing. :-)

Creatures shown in this clip include (in order), GTs (Giant Trevally), batfish, the Wings logo on LSCP's chest, another GT or two, LSCP, worm, sleeping fish in danger of being a GT's dinner, a reef shark (@ around 3:15) , prawns, dog faced puffer fish (@ around 4:40), Spanish Dancer (@ 5:15), another GT, a GT chasing dinner (@ 6:20), Lights Out @ 6:48 til 7:30 ... SPOOKY :-) ... more GTs, Batfish and GTs around the rope back to the surface as the dive computer beeps to say it is "safe" for me to head back up.

... and here is our final dive on the afternoon of the 24th. The tide was changing from low and there was bit of current here and there which made for some nice drifting and filming from below of schools of fish closer to the surface. Nothing hugely spectacular to draw attention to in this clip ... thought I'd make it more about bubbles, breathing, and relaxing. :-)

Tristen, the Captain/Skipper of Emperor's Wings III for the adventure trip, is shown at the helm of the RIB (reinforced inflatable boat) doing the count down for our "roll in" dive entry. LSCP enjoyed snorkel issues yet again. lol.

Mmmm, was nice having 10 days off and only having to expend two RDOs to get it.

Need to have passover and anzac day so close to each other more often I reckon. :-)

"Today I ..." processed the first of the snorkel gopro clips. If ya feel like a virtual snorkel of "Blue Pearl Bay" @ Hayman Island out of Airlie Beach in QLD with LSCP and a cast of bazzilion fish, then here tis:

Today I am looking at my photos from my two week adventure in Sydney and Tassie!

We had the best time!

We flew to Sydney a day or two before the royals and thankfully were able to avoid them at every turn. The royals went to the Harbour, we went to the Blue Mountains, they went to the Blue Mountains, we went to Manly, they went to Manly, we went to the Harbour. We did however have our serenity on the beach at Manly interrupted as the convoy of army and policed choppers invaded our air space when taking the royals back to Sydney...

We then flew to Tassie for a 7 day road trip and it was breathtaking. I got to see and pick fruit off my first ever real life apple/pear tree which was stupidly exciting for me. Picking the fruit took 12 seconds, trying to get the perfect picture/backgroud/filter went on to take up about 5 hours and 17 minutes of my time... One of the nights there, we stayed in an early 1800 colonial cottage and it is easily one of the best experiences of my life. Sitting outside in the dark, huddled under a blanket, drinking port, while looking up at the stars was magical.

After Tassie we flew back to Sydney for two nights right on the Harbour before flying home which was lovely. Just quietly, this might come as a bit of a shock to some of you considering how cultured and well mannered I come across in here, but I am a bogan at heart and I was raised in housing commission which has left me slightly intimidated by the white collar world. While in Sydney I decided that we would get all dressed up, and I would conquer my fear, and try fine dining with the upper class. To calm my nerves, I decided to start with a margarita on the Harbour first. One turned into two, turned into three, turned into losing the ability to count, then at about midnight we decided it was fine dining time, and stumbled into Maccas! Ha! Turns out you can take the bogan out of the housing commission mentality, but you can't take the housing commission mentality out of the bogan!!

One of the best things for me about going away is definitely coming home again. My little dog was so happy to see me I thought he was going to turn himself inside out. Being a true narcissist I am now going to choke the feed with pictures..

Zenescope : Warlord of Oz 3a cover

warlord_of_oz_3a.jpg

Pencils and inks by Ken Lashley
now out in previews for July 2014 --> http://westfieldcomics.com/comic-bo...sents-Warlord-of-Oz-cover-A--Lashley/14051474
Had all sorts of hassle with the background on this one. No one could work out just what that black semi circle thing was for in top left. I tried blue sky, abstracts, even just left it plain white at one stage and ran it past the editors at Zenescope. Nothing looked good so eventually I just decided to do the stars etc and kind of disregard it... So technically not my best cover for the Z in my opinion but they were happy at any rate, so *shrugs*
Oh, and the mouse knight has nothing to do with Mouseguard as far as I'm aware
cheers
Sean

Hey @SeanE you have probably gone over this before, but what do you do these for?
When you say pencils and inks by someone else, what part did you play in the creation? And what are they used for?

Oh, and the mouse knight has nothing to do with Mouseguard as far as I'm aware

Thought you'd stuffed things up with her left elbow then realised it was in fact the mouses' ear and I was wearing the wrong glasses. lol.

Shame the artist let you down with that though ... and I wouldn't be surprised if you were thinking the same thing while doing the colouring.

I would concede that you're looking at somebody's photos that may have been taken over a two week period in Sydney and Tassie.

We've seen your kind and the "other people's photos" used to prop up the persona you've chosen to hide behind before though.

For a prime example, you've got a long way to go before you'll eclipse DQ / DramaQueen in that regard.

Anyhoo, for something completely unrelated. ;)

So come and clean out my shed ! :p

You're very generous Derspatz. I was thinking of something slightly different though. And if I want to get lost in a jungle my own hubby has a shed that qualifies. Actually I'd be happy to send you some of his clutter if you'd like.

...hey all... do you remember little ol me?... wow!... don't things change around here when you're away for a while?... I'll have to work out how to navigate this website all over again I guess?... but hey!... a change is always good isn't it?... how are you all?...

...TraLa my sweet... your trip sounds awesome!... that bridge behind you in photo #6... that's in Richmond in Tassie isn't it?... I loved that place... it reminds me of so many places in England where I was born... did you go to the miniature village around there somewhere?...

...SeanE... your artwork is totally incredible as per usual... such talent my friend...

...Derspatz... I love the scuba stuff... I've never had the opportunity to do that so far but it's on my bucket list for sure lol!... the closest that I've been to it is when I was snorkeling on some reefs around Vanuatu last year... it was such great fun...

...I've been away for a while because a hard drive that I had all of my artwork/ family photos/photos of my holiday cruise last year/all my treasured personal stuff on crapped itself and I've been trying to do catch-up on a lot of things that I have so far lost... sure I backed up a lot of the stuff onto other drives but not ALL of my current work... bummer!... I've put the stuffed hard drive into a 'Data Recovery' company to regain the data... hopefully it will all eventually be recovered... guess how much it's costing to recover all of my treasured data?... $1700!!!!!!!... apparently nowadays when a 'modern new age' hard drive craps itself it can cost anything up to $2000 and over to recover it because they have to do it in a sterilised booth totally free of dust otherwise you lose all of the Data regardless!... yep!... $1700!!!!!... but what do you do?... they've got you by the short and curlies because you can't get photo memories back can you?... I guess that I can redo all of my artwork but the amount of hours it took to do the originals is way too much hard work to redo... remember... uncle Sticky says: DO BACK-UPS!... DO BACK-UPS!... DO BACK-UPS!... DO BACK-UPS!...

...sorry I've come back with a grumble in my belly about that stupid 'Seagate 3 Terabyte' hard drive but at least I feel better now that I've got it out of my system lol!...

...I hope that everyone is going great... I haven't had time to look through all of the threads yet to do 'catch-up' work to be topical at the moment... this was my first port of call... (obviously I went to the 'Rabbits Ears' first as per normal and thought 'WTF??????')... lol!... anyhow... it's good to be back one and all... cheers.

...um... don't our Avatars move anymore?... or have I got to re-enter it again?... just asking... cheers.
