delcan a great article and mostly what we've heard before...didn't know Meatloaf cost $3500 though
She literally posted just yesterday on Facebook that all of her money has finally run completely out, how nice that she can still swing such luxuries.

not a fan of bulked up body-builder types ... so often the brain is not proportional to the reflection

"That is a really big prize for me because before Big Broth-er, I was a uni student and on a government student allowance. That's a really big luxury, that the prize money gives me the chance to sit back and think, 'What do I want to do with my life'? and lets me chase my dreams."
What is a government student allowance ? How does it work ?

It comes into play once you are either 21 or you are forced to move out of home due to distance/proximity to the place where your course is on offer (ie. kids who have family on the land). If you are under 21 and you have both parents, and they both work... And you want to study, you are entitled to ZERO FUCKING DOLLARS. The entire set up is just a joke. Tim get a student allowance, and defers his HECS...kids who actually need it get nothing, even if they are also working. They need to move out of home to be eligible for the hand out.
How a bloke who was working for a radio station was also entitled to a government handout has me wondering... I know kids who work at Maccas, Red Rooster etc and they live at home, and get NOTHING from the Gov't. They work their butts off and COULD NEVER AFFORD TO MOVE OUT OF HOME! Especially into the most expensive fkn suburb in inner Sydney.... Newtown. I really think Tim could shed some light on this for us... Where did Sparrow go?

That's not really accurate, I still live at home (albeit with only one parent) and I'm under 21 and receive a student allowance. It isn't enough to live off but it covers books, petrol to get to uni etc and my job covers the rest. You get more if you move out of home to allow for the cost of rent etc. I don't know if it's the same in every state (I assume so) but Tim would only get it for three years, so if he's saying he's living off that he's either lying or he applied for it later in his studies. He wouldn't have been getting it the whole ten years.
Not always the case I was living at home with both parents and going to uni up until I turned 21. I received an allowance of approximately 250 fortnightly because my parents did not earn enough in a year to financially support me. Now at 21 I've moved out of home and my fortnightly allowance will increase soon as I have to pay rent.
I absolutely applaud anyone who furthers their education in any way... I guess my point has been lost as I was initially referring to Tim's comment about receiving a Government student payment, being a 30 year old student who works... sorry if that was misconstrued. Anyways, I forgot that Tim had 3 International students/people, living at his place when he went in the BB house. That's a bit clever!
Give me a break.
