Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

I was neighbours girl but I would start watching Home and Away for the first time :)
 
I'm gonna be honest, these are not my favorite Jade pics. She, of course, is lovely, but the photos themselves are boring. The seem to have airbrushed all of the life out of her. I don't think it's Jade, because we've seen enough of her portfolio to know that she can easily do a shoot like this and BRING IT, but I think the stylists and photographer missed the mark here. I might feel different if the other model's shots were any better, but they weren't. Just bland emptiness with no emotional resonance.

I love the pic of her in the black dress on the stairs but as for the other ones I totally agree with you. We were talking about it in the other thread - the fact that they screwed up the copy on Summer Night's [sic], the grammar and writing in the interview was atrocious, they didn't clip her red dress properly and it's just a local mag made us conclude they don't really have the cash to get a proper stylist, makeup artist, etc. It all seems a little low budget which isn't her doing obviously.

I've wanted to say it a few times but didn't want to offend anyone on the GC although I don't think any of those types are in here anyway so I'll take a chance... but it seems like there's an artifical look they go for there. I noticed it first when I spent some time there for work and had to go out then thought of it again when I first saw Katie and Lucy's 'do and then what they did with Jade's before she had the chance to make it more her own. It's like the preferred look there is totally fake and just not authentic. Not with everyone obviously but it was pretty noticeable after Sydney and especially Melbourne. Like I said before, she doesn't need all that makeup nor does she need the airbrushing... we've seen so many modelling pics of her pre BB with neither (or limited touch ups at least) that were just wow. Like take your breath away. This totally goes back to the pageant queen thing I was saying before about Jesinta Campbell... exactly what they used to do to her. Sequinned dresses, remove all emotion and life from her face until she did an edgy shoot and then people were like wait a minute- there's a person in there. Jade doesn't need all this crap... I honestly can't understand why they'd do this to either girl as it'd cost less in both man hours and production costs if they'd left them alone.

Same Jane. I don´t like the session at all. Very artificial in my opinion. She looks so much better with a soft and natural make up, and I ´ve always said that I really like Jade when she wears the hair gathered but not in a sophisticated way. Or when her hair is parted in the middle with natural waves . And I don´t like the dresses and the scenario either hahahah :(

I'm not from Australia and I don't know a Sydney look from a Melbourne look from a Gold Coast look. However, I don't know that I strictly agree that it's a Gold Coast thing. I didn't say it before, because I didn't want to come across as petty, but I wasn't impressed with the Tahan pics for the website. The production values there were equally shoddy (seriously, who posts pics of their product with the product obscured by glare?) and Tahan was completely flat. I don't like Tahan as a person, but I am the first to admit that the woman can just light up a screen and I felt none of that in those pics. I don't know if it's because everything's being rushed to press to take strike while the iron's hot, or what, but there was nothing in those pics to set them apart from the average catalog model, just like there's almost of nothing of Jade in these magazine pics.

To contrast the GC image, this picture was ALSO shot on the GC:yMpu44X.jpg
While I think the setting adds little to the pic, the styling and the photography make this a stunning of photo of Jade and you actually see HER, rather than some airbrushed automaton.

Yeah, I think they are more focus on showing the dress and the accessories. In one of the photo ( the one with the head piece) she looks awkward because she was making sure they get the bracelets.

I agree with the styling - I think they were highly airbrushed - at the same time though I think that the clothes themselves look classy and that Jade makes them look good. I prefer too her more natural shots but I'm extremely impressed with her versatility.
I look at pictures of others and they look exactly the same in every single shot and Jade doesn't do that.
And I can't help it - I love seeing new pictures of her even if we do analyse the heck out of them lol.

The GC Mag shoot was for a Xmas special and was suppose to be very glamourous and over the top (Bold and the Beautiful type), the dresses and accessories were provided by the designers themselves so the theme was spot on for what they wanted. Every photographer and makeup artist is different, as you've seen in all her portfolio shots... What the editor wants, the editor gets!
Now, Jades hair is causing a bit of a stir aswell...
After Jade left the house, her hair was that dry and brittle that it had started breaking at the ends. Now any female knows that our hair is one of the most important parts of being us, a hairdresser applied extensions to her hair after giving her a huge haircut (which she needed), this left her with shorter and thinner hair... Hence the extensions! It wasn't to give her a 'GC' look (which I find such a stereotype as I have lived on the GC my whole life and I am nothing if the GC prototype)... Her hair makeover was to make her feel fresh and give her an overall boost...
ALSO... The issue of GC Mag, like I said earlier, is for a Xmas special, her next TV Week shoot and story is due out in January!

It's not surprising that Jades hair went to shit while she was in the BB house. How many times did she get one of the other girls to bleach the roots, I'm sure they didn't have access to a treatment that a hairdresser would use when bleaching a clients hair. I have blonde hair and when I go to the hairdressers to get my foils done a little bit of me get nervous that my hair will become brittle, but lucky for me I have a good hairdresser and it always works out fine.

I also prefer her natural look but she has to do different stuff or she will get pretty boring very quickly. And I like how she can do glamour and can look like a million bucks, but then can tune it down and do the casual look where she shows her sweet side. Then of course, there's the swimwear which shows off her amazing body. I reckon she could model sportswear pretty easy, she could show off those 6 packs and guns lol. I bet she can do the lingerie/nightwear too (now I bet this will happen soon).

I agree, I just don't want to see her in zoo magazine or anything similar to that. Jade is an amazing model, I hope she sticks to the high class side of modeling.

Great update, particularly about Jade's hair. No doubt she has other photo shoots in the pipeline and whoever styles her hair for those would need something to work their magic on. Your point about the glamour shoot is also well made...the designers use models as a clothes horse to show off their amazing gowns and (along with the Editor) have obviously told her they wanted her to pose in certain ways. She's done a fantastic job at meeting the brief.

Yeah that's what I thought LOL. I am happy that Jade will be getting a lot of work after BB, from the look of the photos she is a true professional and that photo above with her in the black is just amazing!!!

Thanks for the info/update.
I understand that Jade's hair was affected/damaged by all the bleaching in the bb house,and that's why the hair extension was added for volume and length.
Jade did a great job in the GC glamour photoshoot achieving the aims of the editor.She's the ultimate professional showcasing the gowns and accessories.
We look forward to her next photoshoot in TV week eagerly.
