Can't wait to see Tim crash and burn, he is so ungracious and a complete tosser. Fancy saying what he did on the Today Show. A jealous and childish man. Ed and Jade are gracious enough not to retort to his stupid ways. He's the speaking equivalent of an Internet troll. He just can't let go can he? Poor Jade having to see him tonight.

I think they want to keep details private as well, who knows where their opportunities will take them work wise so in that sense it would be hard to give a definitive answer. He could provide more emotive words about his hopes that it WILL all work out but I guess that's just not him.

I do agree with what you said,but I just wish he doesn't use the same sentence to define their relationship all the time.You're right, eloquence in expressing anything personal is not his forte.

The two sentences about Jade clarify nothing and almost make no real sense (not a surprise for Ed, of course!)
I care a lot about her, but we met under extraordinary circumstances.

Is he saying that the circumstances invalidate the feelings? Is he saying that though he cares about her, he's not certain it's real because of the circumstances? The word "but" certainly adds a great deal of ambiguity to the first sentence. Maybe that ambiguity is clarified in the second one. Let's see...

She’s a beautiful person and her family is great, so we’re just seeing how things go.
I guess the seeing how things go relates back to not sure about the validity of feelings. Have to see if they are real, of course. At the same time, the part about her family seems so awkward! Would they not be seeing how things go if her family wasn't so great? Is he sticking with her because he likes her family so much?

I'd like to think he is so tongue-tied and awkward about her because she DOES evoke strong feelings he's not comfortable discussing. I'm just not sure that's the case!
 
I think I'm just used to Ed never expressing himself in any emotional way so I don't get surprised when he lives down to my expectations.

This kinda reminds me of his goodbye message, and the "clinical" way he dissected his and Jade's relationship (as Drew put it), as well as the time he had to do his "what I like about you" response to Jade. When asked about Jade he always seems to talk about her traits (loyal, hard working, good family, etc) rather than her if that makes any sense. I guess that could just be his way of being careful - giving a clinical appraisal of her traits rather than emotional one of her and their connection. However it does make his feelings towards her come across as a bit "shallow" and superficial to me.

Like @Insomnaic said though, I think I've just come to accept that's probably just the way he is. I wouldn't be surprised if on their wedding day he said in his vows that he's waiting to see how things go.
