Oh and kxk, how'd you enjoy the 3d? I don't think anyone missed out by not going/getting tickets, but it did make eveything that bit more intense. I loved the little things like the falling petals and the fluttering little bits (probably dust/debris) during the fall of Gallifrey. And 10 and 11 at the start explaining to us how to watch 3d, and that we would have to duck Matt's chin - so funny.

Or should it be 11 and 12?

...**Sticky starts to drop subtle hints to the sweet darling wife in regards to a Xmas pressie**... wow... it looks pretty smecky doesn't it?... cheers.

Blink was one of my fav episodes too, so clever with all the 'timey-wimey' stuff.

But how clever was the 50th special: the sonic screwdrivers calculating for centuries (ok, to open an unlocked door, but still clever); the calcs for the planet freezing also starting centuries earlier; the time-hopping to get the painting into the Archive and then using it as transport; it being Matt's timeline so the other's don't remember, therefore he doesn't know anything until he lived it, even though past selves lived it first. So smart. Swoon.

I'm glad we all liked it so much. And John Hurt had the best lines - so much fun.

There's a nice DW timeline summary on BBC here: http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20131119-doctor-who-travels-through-time
Not sure I fully understand it, but it is interesting. Has clips for the episodes on each timeline too. Fun.

I've already seen the special four times and it has just started again on ABC2. Must ... resist ... watching ... again. Oh who am I kidding, I aint going nowhere.

...that was a great little link that you gave us nutmeg with those timelines... brilliant!... I've watched 'The Day of the Doctor' 5 times now and 'An Adventure in Space and Time' 4 times now... I just can't bloody stop myself!... lol!... both shows are perfect television for me... watching it in 3D must've been heaven on a stick for you lucky people... I so envy you!... lol!... did everyone like 'An Adventure in Space and Time'?... I loved it!... cheers.

I LOVED it!!!

Glad you enjoyed it Mr Sticky. In addition to all those moments you mentioned, I also loved that the Tennant Doctor kissed both Queen Elizabeths, one of whom was a Zygon, & the Smith Doctor's "I'm not judging!" response. The whole thing was effortlessly funny, but still dramatic when it mattered.

I SO agree!! That was my one of my favourite lines too!

Plus the bit with the girl (Osgood?) in the Tom Baker scarf, where her Zygon double gives her her inhaler back. So there are nice Zygons.

See I thought it was the real one that gave the Zygon the puffer. Cos when she (the real girl in the scarf) is cowering in the corner with the zygon standing over her, she trips the zygon by standing on the scarf & the puffer falls & she (the real one) picks it up & keeps running. But don't take my word for it! There was soo much to take in, I'll be watching & re-watching the ep quite a few times :D

Hi Coops! Glad you enjoyed it.

That's a very good point about which Osgood was real & which was the Zygon, I never thought of that! And it doesn't matter which one was "right" because it's so clever it works either way.

Fuck it my internet is playing up, and all I wan to do is keep watching iview:):):)

All the specials are awesome.
Watched Day of Doctor 4 times, it gets better every time, the layers and nuances are awesome, and the horrible Queen thankfully does improve I hated her first time.
There is sooooooooooo much packed into this thing it is astounding - and note Tom Baker, said there may be visits in the future from old doctors, especially the popular ones - Peter darling with his real daughter, and McCoy.

And then last night I watched 5 doctors.

Don't you love the Redgraves voices, all of them sound like Vanessa, why isn't Vanessa in movies has she been ill?

did everyone like 'An Adventure in Space and Time'?... I loved it!... cheers.

I really liked it too but I wish I hadn't watched it on the anniversary day. I felt so sorry for William Hartnell when they sacked him, it really bummed me out. Luckily Graham Norton was still on, so I flicked over and watched a bit of Matt and David, which cheered me right up.

I loved it when they had WH looking at future Matt during his final filming. That was really lovely - such a nod to his legacy.

I also watched the Five(ish) Doctors. So good. I read the Wikipedia page of the cast and had to go back and look for a few of them. E.g. I didn't pick Tegan (even though it now seems obvious) and missed Adric altogether. And I didn't realise others, like the opening scene having John Pertwee's son, and Georgia Moffett's son on later, etc. RTD at the end was hilarious, and every time I watch Day of the Doctor in the future I will always think of the old doctors under the sheets. Such a phenomenal production.

I'm still high on Who, and can't seem to land:)

In case you don't have enough DW stuff ordered or on the Chrissie list, here is something more

David Tennant, as a sub teacher. Nativity 2, Danger in the Manger
Watch this little preview clip it's hilarious -

stickyfingers - guess what?

More movie sessions for you!

No surprise, more movie sessions have been added everywhere.
Hoyts has it next 3 days; then Village has it Dec 1; indies likely - or maybe not, I'm guessing they pay a fortune to license it for just a day guaranteed sellouts, and $27 a ticket, lovely.

And likely whovians have been attacking them for more, more, more. I'm going again, and I want to be up closer, was 7th row.
Does anyone have it on giant screens?

See it Sticky, 3D Doctor is fantastic!

...hey thanks for that kxk... I'm definitely going to check up on that... cool bananas!... it sounds sooooooo good!... by the way... thanks for those links in your other posts... great stuff!... cheers.

kxk, those Easter eggs were really interesting. I wish the special had more references though, especially to the living classic doctors. Apparently Colin Baker felt slighted about himself, 5, 7 and 8 not having some sort of role, considering Tom Baker was in it. Source: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/doctor-who-anniversary-colin-baker-2858536

I agree with him. Some people think that it would have become too clunky, and apparently some fans felt that the
Tom Baker bit was clunky enough without adding more ex-doctors into the mix. That is probably true, but I still would have liked them to lay it on a bit thicker. It was a 50 year celebration afterall.

At least all of their images and TARDISes were there, and they were an integral part of the plot. Which was so great.

Christmas Doctor Who will be screened Boxing Day :):):)
