Do you really think he is that 'evil' (can't think of a proper word at the moment)? I just don't see what he got to gain from it. He won, he certainly more popular than Ed.
Another I just thought of is maybe there is some inside joke going on between these people. Ed doesn't seems to be bothered by it, not that we know of anyway.

No love lost between them. I very much doubt an inside joke, not after the way they reacted to Jade's Halloween trick.

I'm at that stage too to be honest. If he really was keen there wouldn't be any "just friends, we'll see how it goes". For God sake man, let her go so she can get over you before she gets anymore hurt than she already has. That would get him more respect than anything tbh.
