Why does Tahan get more hate than Tim?

I haven't posted anything at all this season, but this thread has prompted a reply. I have not enjoyed watching or listening to Tahan at any time throughout this season. She is the epitome of the 'mean girl' that most of us would have encountered at school.

For me, personally, every time I saw/heard her comment derogatorily about any of the other female HM's, it brought back many personal memories of being bullied by people very similar to her.

People have commented in this thread that she has been 'hated on' for being beautiful. The irony of that statement is that in all probability, her beauty has most likely contributed to her intrinsic feelings of superiority over less attractive females. Therefore, when she says she is just being honest, and saying it like it is, she holds herself up as the benchmark for certain standards. And when other females don't meet this criteria, then she feels entitled to comment on their weaker/poorer traits.

I have not enjoyed watching or listening to any segments with Tahan in them, in fact, her presence in this year's show has certainly detracted from my overall viewing pleasure.

This bothers me. If I physically didn't fit into a dress and my 'friend' was still trying to get me to wear it, I'd question their motives. The hero in that story was Lucy or Katie (can't remember) who lent Mikkayla a dress that actually fit and looked good on her.
 
Tahan is an easy target because she vents her frustrations instead of putting on a fake smile and pretending everything is ok. People like to believe they're 'above' that kind of behaviour

I personally love it she has her vent gets it out of her system and gets on with life, a lot like me :)

Yes, they both like to stir the pot and create conflict, but their characters are completely different.

Tim is always open to being friends with people, even though he's competing with them, or doesn't always see eye to eye with them. Tahan picks out people she doesn't like, and treats them horribly. An example being the chocolate thing with him, Drew and Ed. they all enjoyed that, despite the Tim-Ed rivalry. Take Tahan and the Sugar Sisters. The only time they ever did anything funny together was when Tahan had to be a Sugar sister, and even that was a task from Big Brother, which Tahan didn't enjoy.

I could never see Tim mocking Mikkayla's eating habits, or calling his friends on the outside "fat and ugly". Whenever someone is having a hard time, Tim always tries to comfort them, like with Ben and Mikkayla. Tahan isn't like that.

Every arguement Tim was involved in was as much the fault of the other person as it was Tim. Mikkayla, Ed and Heidi were as much to blame for their beef with Tim, as Tim was. Yet, we still don't know why Tahan had such a hatred for the Sugar Sisters.

I'm not sure why people even are voting for Tahan at this stage. If by chance she does happen to win, I have to wonder why. The things that she does that stick out to me is her chuckling and making fun of others.

Really wish Tim, Drew and Jade could make the last three instead.

LOL but the devout Tahan fans like to forget the first eight weeks ever happened, you see ;)

I *am* a feminist (and will never understand people who pride themselves on not being one - last I checked wanting gender equality was a good thing??) and I can see crystal clear that Tahan is nothing like Tim.

Some people here are deluded lol.

Why does everyone think that bore Jade is a lovely person??? Is she not the one that said she wished Tahan dead??? That accounts for all the 'bad' things Tahan has done. Remeber when Mikkayla was having the breakdown where she thought she was fat earlier in the season? Who was there to support her? Tahan. I didnt see no Jade.

Tahan gets more hate than Tim because Tim is a much meaner, more hateful person. His fans are responding a large part to this immature and pathetic side of his nature. They brush it off as, 'he did the funny on the tele,' excuses. However really, to be a fan of his, you're condoning pretty shitty behavior and attitude to other human beings. I will concede a lot of this probably just goes unnoticed because they don't have a problem with his attitudes and behavior towards others.

So anyway, these traits are just reflected back from his fans. So they are being very hateful. Remember Tim would lie, cheat, steal and say anything to get a head. His fans are doing the same. They're targeting who they think is the biggest competition. Trying to poison the well against them. Trying to plant ideas and shape peoples thoughts and narratives towards Tahan.

Exactly what Tim does.


Tahan and Tahan's fans have a lot less of these kind of traits. While Tim is the biggest competition, they don't stoop to the same lows, and denigrate themselves for the sake of a cheap victory. To try and pull the wool over someones eyes. They just have more integrity of character. Much like Tahan in the house. Sure they can be bitchy, say mean things towards Tim online. However it's just a response to the venom coming their way.

Oh and she also said 'I'm a really honest person, I'd tell you if it looked bad'. Then just a short while later she was taking the piss out of her for not fitting into it.

In my eyes she's virtually been a female Tim. She's confrontational and speaks her mind, and minus her first few weeks of playing up the drama queen wanting the hair dryer, once she settled into her actual personality I feel like she's actually MORE real than Tim in the diary room (as in, no long overplayed four year old child's drawling voice when speaking to 'Beeg Brahhhtha').

But I'm seeing a ton of comments hinting that Tim is for some reason more deserving than her? She's been just as nasty behind the backs of others as he has been but no worse. And she's been just as honest, if not more so, about being in it to win it and not giving a fluff about the friends she makes. I totally get if you feel that Jade is more deserving because you'd prefer a more kindhearted winner - but as far I can see all the hate Tahan cops is based on the age old societal double standard that a pretty girl can't get away with the same sorts of evil as a dude.

(N.B - I am not a feminist and I hate feminists etc etc).

Its about equal with the three that are left. There a re those that don't like certain players and ones that do. Depends which threads you choose to read I guess.

Early on it was Tahan vs the rest of the housemates. People saw her as the underdog and felt sorry for her. Slowly but surely she has build up a large fan base and is the most likely one to win BB 2013 because of this.
