Why does Tahan get more hate than Tim?

A'ight. I'm far from a feminist, and I kinda prefer Jade over Tahan...but why is the latter copping the 'she doesn't deserve to win because she's a bitch' sort of comments?

In my eyes she's virtually been a female Tim. She's confrontational and speaks her mind, and minus her first few weeks of playing up the drama queen wanting the hair dryer, once she settled into her actual personality I feel like she's actually MORE real than Tim in the diary room (as in, no long overplayed four year old child's drawling voice when speaking to 'Beeg Brahhhtha').

But I'm seeing a ton of comments hinting that Tim is for some reason more deserving than her? She's been just as nasty behind the backs of others as he has been but no worse. And she's been just as honest, if not more so, about being in it to win it and not giving a fluff about the friends she makes. I totally get if you feel that Jade is more deserving because you'd prefer a more kindhearted winner - but as far I can see all the hate Tahan cops is based on the age old societal double standard that a pretty girl can't get away with the same sorts of evil as a dude.

(N.B - I am not a feminist and I hate feminists etc etc).
 
Because she's a good looking girl, of course people are going to be quick to judge her as a "bitch". Its so stupid.
 
They're all bitches, but because its considered a female trait the guys get overlooked. And yes tim has been just as Bitchy, maybe even worse because his bitchiness hasnt even been in moments of frustration. His is calculated bitchiness.
 
I guess if you throw out the first half of the season when she was Queen Snob, before Tahan's side was obliterated, and before she latched herself to Tim, changed her personality, and focused on playing to win--then yes, she is a lot like Tim.
 
I'm a little confused as to whether this is a 'Tim and Tahan' thread or a 'Tahan and Jade' thread. I'll give you my opinions on both though. I am happy to be proved wrong though.

I may be a Jade supporter but I am also a Tim supporter and I personally am hoping that Tim takes the win. Tim has really made the show for me. I find Tim to be entertaining. He’s a prankster and his underlying intentions are to have fun – not to have fun at the expense of others. Tim is a character but his heart means well. Plus when push comes to shove he is there and supports the other housemates through tough times. If he has done something that upset someone, he tries to reconcile with them. He’s a good person underneath it all.

I find that while Tahan is honest and says what she thinks, she doesn’t always have much tact and is quite abrasive. To me it seems as though whenever she has something to say that she claims is just her being ‘honest’, it’s just an excuse for her to say something nasty and move on. I find that maybe she tries to have fun at the expense of others. I personally can’t sit there and laugh if someone else is upset over something. If someone gets upset by something that she has said she herself gets annoyed at that. I don’t see very much of her caring about people unless it benefits her.

Now Jade has a lovely heart and is overall a nice, loving and caring girl. She needs to get over Ed and I really wish Ed had left a lot earlier so that people might be able to see what Jade is really like. But I do understand she’s not very entertaining. But I think she’s a lovely person. If she were to win I wouldn’t be upset by that because I think it’d be nice for someone with her positive traits to be rewarded for that. I just wish the whole Ed thing wasn’t so recent. It would be been great if Ed had gone when Matt had.

I don’t know if that’s helped at all, but those are my two cents.

Couldn't have said it better myself; except she is nothing like Tim... Tim's not FAKE Tahan IS!
 
Don't compare Tahan to Tim like that! Tahan has been malicious throughout the show and has been labelled a "bully" i for one agree because of the few things that she has said and done. (to name a few, saying what she said about the sugar sisters and the future children they will work with, mimicking mikkayla eating horribly and acting spoilt -thelastonemightjustbemyopinionsoisayitwithdiscretion-) Tim has NEVER EVER been malicious, like he has said himself and i agree with is that he does it for pure entertainment and i see it, along with other Tim followers

But I'm not hating on tahan i know she is human and she has had her fair share of low moments in the show and i can at some times and i hate to admit, sympathise with her. But then again .. Tahan is just she has the potential to be horrible and has shown that side of her. ANNNND i think this would have had to have been my favourite tweet ever and kind of summarised my opinion of tahan as well: "Umm what do you mean Tahan's not a true representation of Australia? You guys aren't bikini models that have V8 Supercar Driver bfs?" - [MENTION=32768]micky[/MENTION]b273

Tim on the other hand, people give him too much credit, he is this little innocent kid running around in a skeleton onsie that has just been enjoying himself and had his fair share of boulders to dodge too. But at no moment has he ever been malicious. I have to admit when i first saw tim i thought he was annoying and wouldn't give him the time of day, but he grew on me. Like a bad fungus, Tim is my fungus ;)

TIM is The most fake person this season...he bounces from one HM to the other putting down HM's sworn enemies and retreats back to the enemy with a smile and different opinions...tim wants to Win and his take no prisoners attitude is unsettling for some of us...he PLAYED the HMs and he Plays the viewers/voters and it seems to be working becos so many want Tim for the win...i think he IS a spoiled brat who cares about NO one...he wants to win it and has no care to the bodies he'll have to bury to get there...not a good Look, timmy...his every move and conversation is set up to WIN...I find him cold and calculating...and a mean drunk attitude....could be, I am alone in that assessment

maybe malicious is too strong a word...cold, calculating and in it too win it, take no prisoners attitude does not make tim Better...

No you are not alone in your thoughts on Tim. There are a few of us around that see straight thru his act.

Earlier in the thread someone was talking about Tahan getting hate because she is a girl. I would argue the biggest girl in the house is Tim.

Very sad if someone with such obvious personality flaws like Tim wins Big Brother. That would be two arse holes in a row winning BB.
 
There really isn't a HM left I dislike, and as a whole, I've liked them all, but I would be disappointed if Tahan won over Tim. For me, Tahan could have not been in the house & I wouldn't really have been missing much, but without Tim, the whole season would have been different.
 
Tahan was a very bitchy girl at the start of the season. Recently she's changed her attitude, though.

I think its partly because she's female but I think if Tim were female, I still wouldnt dislike him. Its because Tim is a lot funnier and does a lot of funny things in the house so his appeal comes from a lot of other things outside of him bitching about people. I cant think of too many memorable moments from Tahan other than her rants about people she doesn't like.

I also think Tahan is a little more cold to people she doesn't like. She doesn't wanna talk to them or have anything to do with them. Tim on the other hand, will still talk to people or joke around with people even if he doesn't like them - Ed, Matt, Tully, Jade, Mikk, Boog etc. I also think he genuinely tries to sort his differences with people if he doesn't get along with them like he did with Ed.

no. Tim is out to win this no matter what, he is just very calculating with what he does and sais. Tahan want to win also, but she is just a high maintenance girl ,
 
I don't find Tim malicious, he just stirs the pot while Tahan is malicious and makes fun of people.
 
If we give all housemates a clean slate in terms of bitching, lying, deviousness, game playing etc - because after all, it IS a game and, after all, they are just people - of course they have down moments, moments they regret and they have flaws.

So setting all of those things aside and putting them on the same level - because for the first time that I can recall - this year the house has been filled with basically nice people...

then I have to make my decision on who entertained me the most. For me, that was Tim all the way through the entire season.

Not only did he entertain, he deliberately entertained us. A lot of it was for his amusement, but a lot of it was him doing things he knew the viewers would enjoy.
 
simple answer - she's an attractive confident woman.

that never goes down well with the insecure jealous masses
