Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

I'm going to do my best as well to help keep her there

That's brilliant!!! :) I wanna see her enjoying the experience by herself another week. I just feel like I wanna see the older Jade, smiling and having fun. She will be depressed the first days without Ed, but I think she will know how to handle the situation, I don´t see Tim trying to exclude her , and now more than ever that he has realized that he needs to have someone sensitive next to him.

Jade & Ed
It’s no secret that a showmance will more often than not get you further in the Big Brother game, so it’s no surprise to see that JadEd have made it to the final few Evictions. And speaking of bitter endings …

In Jade’s mind, what lays beyond the Big Brother House is nothing short of a white wedding and an Italian honeymoon with her Prince Charming but I can’t help but think Ed’s version of their collective future is less ‘happily ever after’.

I’m sure we all know girls like Jade – they fall hopelessly and desperately in love with a boy who just can’t return the feeling. Sure, the guy will lead her along with some fancy footwork but generally these affairs end in the bottom of Ben & Jerry’s and a screening of Bridget Jones.

If anything, our blonde bombshell is a battler (let’s not forget how many finals she made it to in the Showdown!), so let’s hope we see a bit of that fighting spirit come to the fore in the next fortnight. If Ed liked it then he should have put a ring on it (or at least returned the L-word) so maybe it’s time Lady Jadey kicked the former footballer to the curb!

Man that makes me so mad!!!!
1. This 'showmance' is not helping Jade at all...
2. She far from thinks there will be a wedding... WTH BB, you guys are tools. EVERY TIME someone says anything about outside the house she says straight up that she hopes but is pretty sure this will be it. She is fully aware of the situation. >_<
The only thing I agree with in that is that Ed needs to go.....

Yes, I´m from Spain hahhah :o Have you been here? I would like to travel to Australia . I love the landscape that you have over there

Yes I've been all over Spain, I love it and the tapas! I stayed in Granada for a month to learn Spanish twelve years ago but unfortunately I've forgotten the little I learnt.

He may very well be missing Jade. But the separation is as much his part as it is hers, and attacking her for it, blaming it all on her, was unfair. He wants her to give him her loyalty and friendship, maybe even to settle him down, but to have a friend, he needs to be a friend, and he wasn't offering friendship to her, at least not that we heard.

I'm sorry, I can't forget that Tim has spent the past 2 weeks with his "fun" group, talking crap about Jade at every opportunity. Now he looks at that group and realizes they may be "fun" but it's the frantic "fun" that comes from competition to be the center of attention, with none of them really trusting each other fully. Mikkayla said it best when she said they don't really like or trust each other. They entertain each other, and they bond by disliking the same people, but there's no real trust because they all put "the game" before any real friendship. Tim, as much as he loves fun, is incredibly insecure and now he is searching for that security in Jade. I think it takes a lot of nerve, after his dismissal of their friendship after his nomination of her, to blame her for the dissolution of the friendship.

I like your posts very much. To the point and backed up with good examples...

I honestly don't ever see her having that much fun again. In the past, when she felt she had friends and a support network in the house, she let her guard down enough to have a great time. I don't think it's a coincidence that the Friday Night Feast that she really let herself go at was the one where the party was mostly made up of people she felt safe with. Sure, alcohol contributed to it, but that was when most of her "enemies" were gone, and she still had all of her friends.

Now I don't think she feels safe with anyone, including Ed, to a degree. When you are as guarded as Jade and you let people in, when they let you down, the walls go up even higher than before. I don't think she'll let those walls down in the last week enough to open herself up to the others, especially Tim and Drew. She may forgive, but she won't forget!

I do believe Tim really misses her. Tim loves to have fun and do stupid crazy things, but I think he has realized that now has no one in the house as a real and sentimental "support" I honestly see frankness in the conversation , but at the same time I see that Jade is right about his lack of confidence with Tim.

I believe Tim genuinely was missing Jade and the others. He also mentioned crying to Drew this morning when milking the cow. I have always thought he has a soft spot for Jade. He has said that he would hang out with her on the outside. When Drew is sticking the knife in her back, he has the opportunity to twist it but doesn't. The other day when he was talking about Jade and Ed in the diary room, he said god love her before he dissed the relationship, and there is another recent occasion where he did something similar. I'm not surprised he was crying last night after the fight. Boog is really taking it a bit far with him and I think he is really missing his friends that he could just chill with. I think he said once that Ben use to keep him sane in the house and Katie and Lucy's eviction was the first one and only one where I saw him cry. He is by no means a saint and at times i'm really disappointed in what he says about Jade but on this occasion I think he was genuine and I wish Jade would spend more time with him.

I said it at the time, and I still think it's the case now...Ben's eviction really threw Tim and it made him abandon his previous strategy and alliances. I think he freaked completely out that maybe he had misread who was popular outside and he jumped ship away from his original misfit group. I think that's why he was trying so hard to push the "fun" vs. "not fun" group thing. He wanted to portray himself as fun but in the process he completely abandoned Jade and Mikkayla. I don't think he wanted to , but he probably knew Jade was never going to follow a plan that completely isolated and segregated Ed, and he knew that Mikkayla was never going to abandon Jade or go into a group that contained Tahan.

He blamed them for it when he nominated them, saying that they had turned into Ed clones. While I do think that's party true in Mikk's and Maddie's case...it wasn't in Jade's. She never once said anything nasty about Tim or nominated him despite the fact that was obviously her group's plan. That doesn't change the fact though that Tim did essentially abandon the two of them to improve his own chances. Not blaming him for that at all, but at the same time I didn't like him trying to blame them for it.

To me he's been slowly losing the plot since the formation of the two groups though. And it upsets me as a Tim fan. Boog has really gotten under his skin, and I knew the moment she entered she wasn't going to be good for him. She really knows how to rile him up, and now he feels like Drew (his best friend through all of it) is ganging up on him with her. This culminated in an apparent massive fight between him and Boog last night that's left him in tears. He's lost the two people who he always said kept him calm in Ben and Jade and now's he's trying to get back his friendship with Jade. Whether that's because he genuinely misses her, or just the calming effect she had on him I don't know.

Either way though I thought he went the wrong way about it blaming the whole break up of their friendship on her and Ed, and taking advantage of her kind heart by telling her he was crying because he felt like he didn't have her anymore on top of the evicted members of their original group. It's emotional manipulation. I was very happy with what Jade told Ed she said to Tim...that it was a two way street and that she felt hurt that he abandoned and nominated her. Unlike Tim she didn't try and blame him for the whole thing, but she told him that he was responsible for it too.

Granada and San Sebastian are my favourites. Which part are you from?

Apologies Jade appreciators.

Oh, for sure!!! She´s naive and genuine, and for that reason every disappointment is more difficult to overcome. But I can tell you that she will try to hang out with Tim ( I don´t see the same with Drew).

I was born in the north of Spain ( in La Coruña) but I moved to Valencia when I was five, so I´m a Mediterranean girl hahaha I love my city, it´s the third biggest city in Spain ( first Madrid, 2nd Barcelona and then Valencia) but the north of Spain it´s really cool as well :)

I agree!! I said the same thing when Ben left. I was a huge Tim fan before that. I saw him as an almost robin hood figure. At that point I dont think he was playing the game to win, more playing the game to take out the "cool" kids and doing what he could to encourage the misfits to be who they were. But when Ben left he was like well now, I can win this without Ben in the house but I have to jump ship to do so because turns out I am on the wrong team. So he changed teams and worked to bring down the other misfits. I still think he should win if Jade cant but I dont admire him as a person anymore however I can still appreciate his entertainment value. I dont however find it funny to pick on, laugh at, make fun of or bully others. I liked him more back when it was just a game for him. Now he is just doing everything he can to win, the same as all the other 'cool' kids. Maybe he needs to give himself the talk he gave others about being who they are because its enough and it will get you to the end.

I went to and really enjoyed Madrid and Barcelona but unfortunately ran out of time to go to Valencia. It looks lovely though so hopefully I will get a chance to go there one day. It's great that you are enjoying Australian Big Brother! Hopefully you will get to visit one day. I'm from Sydney (the best city). :-)

I hope so!! hahah BTW Nice chat hughesy17! :)

Ed has wrecked Jade. At the start she was incredibly bubbly, sort of had independence to herself (when married to drew she didn't show interest in drew even though drew had an interest in her), she got along with everyone including Tahan, and had a type of confidence in herself.

But as the days passed and she became more inlove with Ed her characteristics started to become that of Ed's, she got jealous of Tahan being close to Ed, and got to involved with Ed that she had lost herself. I really liked her at the start (I even voted for her) and now I still like her but I hate seeing how blinded she is by her infatuation with Ed. She has become so dependant on him that If he were to leave this week she will not no what to do as Ed is her comfort. It's such a shame that Ed has brought her down.

The only disagreement I have with this (and with Gemini's original post) is that Tim had already started the "fun" group vs. the others with the whole pizza making/mince stealing that took place before Ben's eviction. It was Jade that noted that night that Tim would come in to the room and talk about the other group doing something, and then she was sure he would go back and say something to the other group about them, which is exactly what he did. Those two groups formed, btw, because Tim, Tahan, and Drew all gathered in a bedroom the day of nominations to complain about Ed's "pride", ie, the rest of the HMs that were all sitting around and chatting. I think what really upset Tim (and Drew by osmosis) is the fact that Ed had essentially infiltrated the misfits group using Jade as an entry point and solidifying his position with his "prince charming" persona. I think if Ben had stayed in the house, Tim and Ben would have floated between the two groups but without Ben, Tim committed himself fully to the "fun" group since there was no way he was going to play second fiddle to Ed.

On another note, the new video of Jade and Drew cleaning the parlor made me sadder than the Tim talk with Jade earlier. Drew seemed to be trying to start a conversation with Jade and she completely stonewalled him. It's not that I want her to talk to him, but seeing her absolute coldness towards him is a reminder of how quiet I'll expect her to be if Ed leaves this week. I do expect, as someone said earlier, that if Ed DOES go, Tim will attach himself to Jade and start a new "misfit" group, at least in the DR.
