Tahan Bitching About The Family Dinner Auction

I also thought it was hilarious that Tahan put in the hairdryer - the same hairdryer she bitched and bitched about every day until she got it. Obviously it didn't mean as much to her as she made out.

Tim is the only person i've seen use that hairdryer and he said it sucked.
last time i saw Tahan doing her hair in the parlour she was using a different one

I saw her using it once, and I'm guessing it has some awesome technology she likes, cause I couldn't hear it and it appeared hardly any air was coming out haha

Her point was that she (and Tim and Boog) sacrificed stuff that was important to her, whereas Mk, Ediot and Jade didn't. Just because we might not see the value in the stuff she auctioned, doesn't make it any less valuable to her.
I couldn't believe how Tahan kept complaining about the auction challenge. She gave up FALSE EYELASHES, a hairdryer & makeup for god sake! She didn't give up one of her kidney's. She knows that the HM'S will get their belongings back. As if BB would keep them forever.

Getting so upset (according to the BB official site, she cried) over such frivolous stuff. It just shows how shallow & superficial she really is. Throwing a tanty over false eyelashes, etc. And how brave, unselfish of her to give up her foundation...NOT! There is plenty of foundation/makeup in the beauty parlour. She acted like a spoilt brat.

And when she told Ed not to talk to her. OMFG! What a childish, pathetic, whiny little madam. The poor little princess can't blow dry her bushy mane, or make her eyes look pretty with fake eyelashes, or cake her face in foundation. Oh the horror. She is so hard done by.

War, famine & poverty don't compare to the sacrifice poor little Tahan had to make. She is a real heroine...NOT!

How hypocrtical, Tahan's stuff was important but Mikkayla's, Ed's & Jade's wasn't? You might not see the value in the other HM'S stuff, but that doesn't make them any less valuable to them.

It's difficult to compare the necklace boog's parents gave her for her 18th birthday to the stuffed tiger big brother gave to Jade.

The fact she was upset about losing it, demonstrates the importance to her. The fact others just tossed shit and didn't care, does tend to point to there being less importance placed on their stuff.

I don't quite see how people equate Jade giving a gift from BB with Tahan doing that. One was full of items Tahan uses. One was a stuffed toy. That's the key point.

I don't quite get the problem people have with people just being normal. Having emotions. She got in a shitty mood about it. Who cares? That's normal.

She also has a completely valid point that some house mates were half arsing it. They have up things that will not alter their time in the house. Tahan is someone who is always up for the games, she throws herself into it. Part of her competitive side. People standing around waiting for others to do something for the group, of course annoys her immensely. With the hair drying, BB didn't tell her to put it in. People were just expecting her to, standing around doing nothing, waving things around in a pathetic attempt to pretend they were prepared to give stuff up.

Mik gave up moisturizer. Which after Tahan wasn't allowed to put in foundation, she is completely valid about complaining about. As for Miks perfume. She mentioned her boyfriend bought it for her. That was just a spin to make it seem sentimental. She mentioned it's been her sent for 5 years. So if her boyfriend bought it, he just bought her the stuff she uses. Doesn't seem overly sentimental if you ask me.

People also forget that doing yourself up, getting ready for special nights in the house is a major source of entertainment. Something which has now been lessened for Tahan, so has more impact than someone deciding they won't wear one item of their clothing and wear another.

Speaking of the perfume, does anyone know what it is called? I paused and had a close look, i'm sure it said 'Scent of Bovine'.

Some housemates are just more attached to their possessions than others
I get where Tahan was coming from
But jade obviously doesn't care as much about her stuff so a gift was something she had of some sort of sentimental value no matter where it came from or who gave it to her
Mikkaylas gift was really no different, no offense to men who buy they're women their favourite perfume, but it's really the most "thoughtless" gift you can buy, it's an easy don't know what to get you type gift and I did feel that mikkayla was trying to make it sentimental just so she had something to put it because they all had to come up with something.

My personal opinion is the only thing unfair about it was BB asking for items from some housemates and not others

yep agree, not only that but he asked ed for a hat, and boog for her 18th bday gift from her parents...

Yeah that's what I meant....they all chose two items to put in but then some were asked for specific items and not others, that was harsh

Yeah that was fricken brutal. I'd be curious if BB could even attempt to explain who they choose to give special rewards to and who they choose to 'punish' and when. There's definitely an imbalance with that stuff.

More likely called, Scent of a She-Devil or Scent of a Fishwife.

I guess it could be possible that they were things the housemates had considered putting in but then swapped it for something that BB thought was of lesser value so decided to make them put it in...Eds reaction was a kind of 'knew it' type reaction

I'd rather just think BB is an arsehole lol

Tahan did not claim she was the only one to have made a sacrifice, she acknowledged Tim and Boog also gave up a lot. She was more upset over the fact that in comparison she gave up more than the others such as Mikkayla, Ed and Jade. I didn't see anybody tell Tahan to give up her hair dryer, she went and got it from her suitcase and then Tim encouraged her to drop it in. She did take the initiative to go back to her suitcase and find things such as her hairdryer and family photos, whereas somebody like Mikkayla, who was probably more keen for the gourmet dinner, lingered in the background. Even if the items the others gave up are of sentimental value, they will eventually get them back and they won't have to wait too long either. Tahan uses her hair dryer and lashes often.

Tahan has had that hairdryer removed from her before, this is the third or fourth time (I haven't been counting exactly) so that would only fuel her frustration. The focus was almost entirely on her, even though Boog and Tim did agree that they gave up more than the others and I'm sure they did their fair share of complaining that was edited out or not shown. It makes sense that the show would be focused on Tahan since the hair dryer issue has been an ongoing saga. I must commend her for being able to move on despite her anger and feelings of injustice. She's not the type to cry or whinge often but when she does, she has a vent in the diary room and gets over it. The same cannot be said for others like Mikkayla or Tully when she was around, who carry things around forever and become bitter about it. I think Tahan needs to be given a break, she is human and like the rest of us, she did get upset over something that may be considered 'petty' and 'superficial' at a universal level. But it's not on that level so I think it's unfair and irrational to compare this to 'war, poverty and famine'. The only difference is that the entire nation and then some, get to view her tantrums and hence, the mass judging begins. Just think about how many times you've reacted like her, if not worse over smaller issues. Now add to that the pressures of feeling lonely, disliked, homesick and the stress of an upcoming eviction and surely you should be able to sympathise and empathise with Tahan.

Just my two cents.

If only Tully was still in the house, she could have thrown in her hunchback...

Just because she is Aboriginal Madonna, no need to be racist (this is what you do with Mikkayla lols)

Worth a lot more than two cents. Good and true post :)
