One thing that has frustrated me about the whole Drew, Ed, and Tim conflict is that Jade has ended up being the toy they fight over. I wish we could have seen the part of the Ed/Tim conversation when Ed brought up to Tim that his pursuit of Jade, which Tim was kinda claiming was a strategic move to get Ed to commit one way or the other, hurt and confused Jade, because she felt she was put in the middle (which she was). That part of the conversation was only part of a written post on the OS, so I have no idea how accurate it is, but at least SOMEONE was acknowledging that the battle for male supremacy was impacting Jade.
Even now, Drew's bitterness towards Jade feels a little bit like a little boy claiming he hates the toy he didn't get and really didn't want anyway, because it was just so lame and pathetic. I'm not sure he's thinking of Jade as a human being, or just an object he didn't get. The sad part is, Jade was really hoping she and Drew would become closer again, and I think she would have made time for him. We see her chatting with people other than Ed (though not as much recently, with this division) and we saw at least 2 different conversations between Drew and Jade, so I feel like she hasn't been completely unavailable to him. I don't know that as much blame for the failure can be placed on Jade as Drew. Maybe a small portion, but the majority is in on Drew and his constant disparaging of Jade. He's so negative about her that he can't even stand to be in a group with her.
The HMs and Justynne linked Ed spending more time with Jade, moving into her bed, etc, to the arrival of Justynne, but I think in part it was a response to Tully leaving and Jade expressing to Ed the thought that she and Drew might get close again, which happened at the same time as the intruders arriving. Ed didn't want anyone else playing with his toy, even though he really didn't have an interest in it himself.
I wish BB would give Jade the chance to get rid of the "Wardens" for the house by completing a task of not talking to or about Ed for a set amount of time, without telling him or letting the others know what she's doing. I think it would be a good way to bring the house back together, because she'd have to seek out conversations with others, and would have to try to bring groups together so it's not obvious she's avoiding him. I also think it COULD be a chance for Jade to demonstrate to the audience that there's more to her than Ed and that she's willing to do this for the "house".
Not going to happen, but I can dream, right?
